What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Back on RAF, did Grizzly Hills Dailies. Tried to get decent gear for Druid, totally don't know how to fight.
Blue Hill Logging seemed easier, use Shredder to help fight injured Horde.
Finished all dailies, bug on log ride, got Grizzled Veteran. Flew around getting xp for discovery. Did a daily bombing from zeppelin
Brought in Auruk and ran VH, finished, even with Nevahoof skinning. Very hard but fun. Nevah got to 450 but needed training in skinning
Got hooked on running VH

Crazy AH with Festival Lantern:

Ran instances with Willopelt, Forge, Lomwyn and a pugger.

Ashayo

Submission for 257

Hello CAW sweeties hope you're all well & doing good! Big hugs Aprillian xoxo
Well love festival has come & gone - managed to get 2 "chickens" & a few pets. Missed out on getting the Love Fool title for my warrior ... Oh well next year lol!
I read an interesting blog on WoW forums about the WoW Iron Man Challenge. Have any of you heard of it? Anyway I couldn't get it out of my head, even though I kept thinking "no that's just way too crazy to do that!"  It just wouldn't go away - thoughts of how I could possibly achieve this challenge! Now I have something I'm going to confess & i hope you all wont think any less of me! You see ever since I rolled my very first toon I have had issues with falling off things! I've managed to fall off things in most zones, instances & raids! I'm an all round "fall to my death" specialist! So as you can understand trying to do this challenge for me would be crazy!! Yet I am going to give it a try. I decided on a lil undead lock & so far am Lvl 12. Feels very weird to run past all the profession trainers & ignore them!
Anyway that's about all for me this week.
Take care & big hugs
Leeta

Hello CAW Crew

Another week another update, you guys keep recording a day earlier and its forcing me to keep writing these in less and less time to keep with my self imposed deadline of once a week. Perhaps I should try and motivate myself to do these before the night of. Hah!. Never! Procrastination is our life.

My Alliance Rogue and Morgaine's Druid have finally hit outland. When we sit down and play them again I know it will go fast, last time we leveled alts through outland we did hellfire and the marsh and were 68 before we even finished.

I've been in a bit of a funk recently and have had little desire to play solo. Instead we've been playing Facebook apps a lot Castleville for me and The Sims Social for Morgaine. (Feel free to friend us on facebook if you play either game, we are the only Wren Workman and Morgaine Ford-Workman on facebook)

Though I did start a lowbie boomkin and Morgaine rolled a new undead warlock to play, with pigtails and a cute little demon to accompany her as she gleefully does Sylvanas' bidding. We both love the Lilian Voss character, such an epic low level storyline. We really need to remember to ask someone to add Morgaine's many alts into the guild sometime.

Well here is our newest parody song. I wrote a few others but morgaine seems to have gotten a little stuffy again so we went with a range that was more comfortable for her. I apologize in advance for the crackling when she hits the higher parts, I really need to go get us a new microphone or two. Perhaps  then I'll record myself singing something terribadly.

Oh and we did start that youtube channel as suggested. We are going to go back and rerecord our first songs and start uploading them over time as well. Are any of your listeners any good at Machinima?

Thank for keeping us entertained week after week,
Wren and Morgaine

PS: This sunday was morgaines birthday, anyway I can get you guys to wish her a happy birthday?

Nexbardus update 2/26/12

Hello all of CAW and CoD, just wanted to send in a quick update of what I have been up lately. First off, I had a good time spending the 4 day Presidents Day weekend with my family in Florida. My Dad rented a condo there down close to Fort Myers/Tampa and we mostly spent time searching for sharks teeth on the beach and swimming in the heated pool. It was the first time my youngest daughter (age 6) got to see the ocean so pretty exciting for her and the weather was nice (mid 70's everyday).

In game I have been spending most of my time on Penyimon, my level 85 DK on Earthen Ring. I was able to finish up all of the Cataclysm zones for Loremaster of Cataclysm. Mostly I have been doing a lot of dailies everyday. Started the Molten Front/Firelands Invasion dailies and am more than half way to opening up either the Druids of the Talon or the Shadow Wardens. Other dailies I have been doing are Therazane, Dragonmaw, Fishing and Cooking. I round out my dailies with Tol Barad mostly to get the mounts eventually since the items you can get are kind of outdated at this point. I was able to get another Fox Kit to drop though and this time without trying too hard. I had gotten one before on my Shaman Nexbardus but it took upwards of 400 kills at least to get it. This time it only took about 20 kills, I was just casually killing the foxes as I did my dailies. I also spent a lot of gold trying to gear up quick and will soon be running the new 5 mans.

I also created a toon for the Ironman challenge. He is a Troll Hunter named Nexferrum on Earthen Ring. Have only leveled him to 6 so far and I am not overally serious about the whole thing but it seems like it could be fun.

That is about it, Good Luck in game, Nexbardus

MEl hits 85.... 85 hits back

Hi All Hope you are all well.
In real life we have been so busy, and this has meant our real life( .. woops! ... wow life) has suffered.
Jumping back a few episodes to answer a question that came up. Yes we have 2 and they are the most wonderful children in the world (in my COMPLETELY unbiased opinion) and it was our Daughter who wrote the wonderful emails to you and it is our Son playing our toons when we do awesome stuff.   It is Mum and Dad when we do pathetic DPS or stand in the stupid
.In game, my toon Fortetwo hit 85. That is toon  number .....let me think 2 + 3 carry 3 ... this is too hard ....let’s say we have too many 85's .
Inspired by 42, Mel decided to do the same and do the last bit from 84 1/2 to 85. Now Mel has not done any dungeons in Cata (since some truly awful experiences in the first week in the LFD, long before COD existed)  so on the class she knows best (a hunter) she fearfully stuck her big goblin toe in a Cata instance for the first time in fifteen months . Well the world did not collapse and she got though it with the help of a wonderful tank from another realm.
To use the famous quote " in for penny in for a pound ". Mel did another 2 instances with the same tank and loved it. Very quickly the blue bar climbed up to one bubble short of 85. Now out of the dungeon Mel swaggered over to Twilight Highlands with confidence brimming over, to attack some quests to hit 85. Mel wanted to dual box the last bit but in a very unusual way. She got family to play another toon, who is also hers in general, (and appears that way in the guild notes) The second toon was her mage with the MzAwesome .Unfortunately  poor Tinok who was also online in the COD nightshift, it might have appeared somewhat confusing, with Mel appearing to congratulate herself, but all was soon sorted. Mel then strolled out and began to kill monsters , skin animals and collect items and soon had a gaggle of quests to hand in . Then standing in front of the quest giver and the whole family watching over her shoulder the achievement came up and finally Mel hit 85 . For Mel this is her 3rd or 4th on Earthen Ring but Mel is closest to her heart.
Of course 85 is hitting right back at her and  now she has to brace herself for the delights of heroics etc.Tinok (and all other COD-ers now she is a little more confident she may even jump into LFR with you one day. Well…. maybe. Anyway I think I have rambled on for way too long and I hope it has come out in my email how proud I am of Mel
42
PS . Why can't I find a good steakhouse in Thunderbluff?

For the Honour Kills

Did I make in time this week did I did I think I did I wonder who gets to read me this week will El Jeppy be better will Junno have a segment will we have a special guest host will I don’t know my grammar improve who knows I will have to wait for the show to start and the people who were wondering. No I haven’t done my co-workers boyfriend in yet but the more I learn about her hard-core gaming skills her love of all thinks perverted and her willing ness to rip a man genitals off and feed them to him the more I really don’t like the life expectance of her current man.

MOMOMents

mo-mo-mo.....moments?! MOway!

Hello all,
long time to email!
Hope everyone is doing well in and out of game and hope you still remember me.
I am sorry for this long hiatus as life does happen to many of us. I have not stopped playing wow just have played a few minutes compared to the hours before. I did cancel my 2nd account so in some ways I am not one of you sadly yet I am :)
I have recently been logging in a few times a week to do some dailies on moheal on the COD guild and today I did log into my first character motauren on the balanzaar server to do dailies as well.  To my surprise I found out that I lost the guildmaster title for the guild I started over 6 years ago! I could not understand why or what happened.  I checked my mail to collect my mounts and I found an email from Blizzard stating that because had not logged in for a while the guild leadership was passed on to the next person that has been active in the guild. I have no idea when they started this but I say this is not cool at all! What do you all think? I wish they would have emailed me or something I would have logged in even for a minute.  I dont know what to do so I just opened a ticket and was emailed this in about an hour:

In regards to your petition in the event of an inactive guild leader, promotion of a new leader may now be requested by high-ranking active members who wish to take over the role.  A guild leader is considered inactive when they have been "offline" for at least 30 days.

The game will automatically notify members of the highest rank who have been online within the past week.  This notification is visible in the Guild News and Events feed of the guild window.  If none have been online, then the next highest rank will be notified, and so on.  Simply click on the notification to request leadership.

More information on this change is available at http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3278811224.

Hope none of you have to go through this as I feel like someone has stolen motauren's house or broken into it! He is a sad panda... I mean tauren right now.

I have been playing other games like most people.  I tried start wars for a month but could not get into it. I think I have played wow for so long that other mmo's just dont compare no matter how pretty or new they look.  Also I have played many xbox games, ps3 ( working to finish uncharted 2 than move onto 3 and need to play mass effect 2 as well) and I did get a ps vita and highly recommend it if you are able to get it.  It looks sooooooo cool and colorful.
I will be going to Nerdtacular 12 this year, first time I will be attending it for the first time.  I am real excited to experience all the fun and especially to meet all the great people.  Please let me know if you are going and we can meet up some where.  I am staying in the same hotel as the wonderful Valentines, so I know I will be bugging them everyday allday! :)

That is all I have for now.
Hope everyone has a great week in and out of game.
For the gamers!

Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 256 - Dude, Where's My Dragon!

Aprillian, Ashayo, Vrishna and Jeppy discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a WoW Pet or an Authenticator.

What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Ran RFC, used portal to get back

Took Epril to do JC quest in Hyjal, charms and
Can't decide which to do.
Darshi, Nevahoof & Auruk in Nexus, Questgivers?    Oh it's Heroic! Skinning items shimmer?
Questgiver in entrance - HOL, got both charms and Grizzly tokens.
Cross realm instances, Mass Summoning, Works! Crazy last minute. Thanks Melii. Watched questgivers/vendor disappear

Ashayo

Dragonblight
- Having done the Horde side of Wrathgate so many times, nice to finally see the story from the other side.
- One quest (just after you get sent to Wyrmrest) has you go help kill a Frigid Abom, Geist Attackers, and Ghoul Attackers. But from the other side of the Ruby Dragonshrine. Not sure if it's bugged or not, but no Ghoul Attackers were spawning on the Alliance side. After about 15 mins, I wandered over to the Horde side and there were heaps. So I started merrily AOE'ing. Until I realised I was hitting horde NPC's , got flagged, and promptly jumped on by half a dozen guards!
- Alystros in Emerald Dragonshrine no longer elite
- The Magnataur chain is no longer elite
- Alliance don't have the whole quest chain in New Hearthglen - go straight to killing the High General - and she's not elite.
- We find out why Naxxramas is hovering where it it - it's over a mausoleum.
- Since when do druids get 310% flight for 11g?
- Lots of Lore on the Alliance side , including seeing how Arthas gets hold of Frostmourne
- Might of Dragonblight - 9% into 81

Jeppy

Tedrah

WoW
Glitch in Dolanaar reoffering the Dreamcatcher quest that I already completed.
Massive streamlining of remaining quest chains.  NPC's moved to better locations for turn ins. No longer running back and forth to Darnassus and Denalan at lake outside Dolanaar. Rellian Greenspyre is now at the hut alongside the road toward Darnassus where the skinning/leatherworking trainers are. The NPC that gives you the quest for mossy tumors is now there too. And when you go to turn in that quest Denalan is visiting Greenspyre so you don't have to go back to his original spot. They've also moved Oakenscowl.  No longer in the cave, now just northeast of the hut area.
The NPC that gives you the quest to kill the spider Lady Sathrah is now at the Oracle Glade instead of in Darnassus.
Corithras Moonrage moves from the moonwell in Dolanaar to a spot at the crossroads right outside Darnassus.
So you meet him there after filling Oracle Glade phial and then he sends you to last moonwell at pools of A. can't pronounce.  You no longer fight the satyr here instead there is a new NPC is just down from the pools and she gives you a quest to kill the Bough of Corruption that is the source of Teldrasil's corruption.  She gives you a buff that changes your action bar and it's the first little epic kind of end to a quest chain.  Kinda cool. She sends you back to Moonrage who has you turn in the waters you've collected to Tyrande in the Temple in Darnassus which is the end of the starting zones.
Couple of screenshots. One of me turning in waters to Tyrande and one with my cat, baby moonkin & cool armor set.

Decided Teonna is going to have an affinity to cats. So all her pets are going to be cat models.
50 quest achievement when turning in mossy tumors quest.

SWTOR

Didn't get a chance to play my toon with Aprillian this week.
Only played Saturday on my highest toon Linx.  Got her to level 35 with help from Darcian & Laleh.
Got her third companion on Taris.  All kinds of flirt options with him.
Confusion buying modifications because you can't have the vendor window open and your character window open at the same time. So comparing what you already have to what's available is hard.
Dropped Arms tech and picked up Treasure Hunting.  Need more $$$$$$

Hello, Ctrl Alt Wow!

I've been listening to your podcast for about a year, and kept telling myself I would write in.  Of course, that never happened - until now.  I've been playing WoW for about a year and a half, ever since my wife (we're a two wife, but one geek household) went off for a weekend with friends.  I decided to give this WoW thing a try, as a friend had been playing for several years.  Friday evening after work I created an account, downloaded the free version and started up a toon.  I stopped for sleep when I realized that the birds I heard singing weren't just in game - they were outside my window, as was the rising sun.  After a solid four hours (okay, maybe three) of snooze, I was back on.  By then it was a fully paid account and I had downloaded the full version (WofLK, at that time).  Now I've got 23 toons, including six at level 85, both Horde and Alliance.  They're spread across six realms, to minimize nonplaying time during rolling restarts or realm-specific issues.  I almost exclusively solo play, and very rarely venture into dungeons (unless I'm well above level and can solo them).

My wife is going away again this weekend, so I thought what better time to finally roll a new toon on Earthen Ring so I could join Clan of Darkness!  I started a Blood Elf Paladin yesterday evening, and as of now Voltandra is at level 11.  When I hit lvl 10 and teleported to Undercity to do some dailies, I ran into Kallisto.  Actually, Kallisto flew through me while my mountless toon was walking onto the elevator.  It was my reminder to send the email and contribute to your awesome podcast.  I'm looking forward to joining Clan of Darkness., now that I've contributed.  Thanks for all the great podcasts!

No audio ;(

Hello CAW crew!

Saulius here.

Sorry about the lack of audio submissions but  Ive started the next module of my Open University course and its put a lot of demands on my time and concentration, also I haven't been playing as much WoW as I would like so I have very little to talk about. In game when I have been playing I have been working mainly on leveling my professions. On Saulius Ive maxed out fishing and cooking (as well as Alchemy and Herbalism which I had already leveled) and Ive started working on Archeology. On my bank/personal guild alt Alysius I have been leveling tailoring and Enchanting. I have also started trying to make gold flipping items for tranmog after being inspired by Keelhaul AKA the mogfather. I have had some success but not a millionaire yet!

I guess that's it for now.

Keep up the good work!

You get a HK and you get a HK and you get a Hk

As you can tell from the title I have been doing a lot of BG’s this week and I have taken up resedeints in the bottem 3 in most matchers sometime I get up as high as 5th from the bottem but not many.
Big G

Celebrity wow

Week in wow with the Nekros

Prospero and Kalisto did their first Heroic dungeon, Vortex Pinnacle with peter rabbit and a friend of his. It was crazy fun and took a wile to complete (we were up till 5 am). Peter rabbit talked with us in Vent and managed to get us through the the battle with minimal casualties. Thanks peter you and your pal are the coolest of the cool :) oh and thanks to the mystery Druid who did very little in the way of fighting or healing or talking but he did do a fair amount of dancing. Thanks dancing Tauren druid for your truly heroic disco moves.

Prospero received the Bronze drake from Heroic culling of Strath Holm with the help of Auntpol and Kallisto. We've been going through the instance when ever we find everyone online so that all our toons can have the marvelous mount. (we have the most  casual raid group in the history of WoW, LOL)  Its Auntpol's turn next. Go Aunty, go Aunty, its your birthday ;)

Wraith the mage is level 74 thanks to Aprilian's brilliant tip of having the little toon following the big toon on a flying mount wile the 85 is farming. Thanks Aprillian

Lots of work and fun on the tripple holiday week Prospero and Kallisto managed to get the the ugly love bird mount  "Love Fool" title and to loot the coveted "toxic oozling pet"  (two three each in fact, hopefully they will make these bind on equip in a later patch cause all our other toons who were able to kill the holiday boss didn't get squat)

Nekro-bob (aka Nekronomicon) pulled an all night digging marathon on Monday and worked his Archeology from 300 to 525 earning him three achievements in close succession,
Illustrious grandmaster in Archeology, What was briefly yours is mine and Tragedy in three acts. His next task will be to find the rare recipe for the vile of the sands for his lovely wife so she can transform into a dragon.

The Highlight of our week in WoW was a rare celebrity sighting of the illustrious and glamorous Apillian. She was at the inn in Dallaran and we chatted for a moment and took a few screen shots. Thanks Aprillian you're awesome ;-)

Thats all for now CaW crew, a million thanks for all the great shows... keep it up :)

Cheers from the Nekro-bob's

and remember Undead love is forever

Submission

Hello Everyone!

I finally got around to recording an introduction before the song this time.

Alliance side: Last week we got our love birds. Yay for pink flamingoes of dooooooom! I also managed to grab an extra one, which I'll try and sell later when the market isnt flooded with them. No love rocket though on any of my alts, oh well, I'll try again next year! I completed a transmog outfit for my rogue at 60, which is great since It means I wont have to look terrible when leveling through outland.

Had little time to play in CoD this week, so sad. I have grand ideas for my Warrior. I am also debating on rolling and "Iron man wow challenge" alt. It sounds like an interesting challenge.

Anyways, here is our audio segments for you guys. Man my voice sounds REALLY hitch pitched when I record it. Maybe I need to adopt a non american accent. Whenever I use an accent in a show my voice drops a lot. Hmm.

Sincerely,

Wren

PS: I LOVE dropbox!

Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 255 - A Charming Obsession

Aprillian, Ashayo, Vrishna and Jeppy discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a WoW Pet or an Authenticator.

What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Got my income tax refund, first thing I did was pay for 3 months of wow on each account.
Tried to do Elune's blessing, died a lot. Did get lanterns on Epril and Auruk.

SWTOR - companion responses=reset quest response
Black screen using shuttle, go to full screen, 800x600

Ashayo

DMF - Bought the Dancing bear! Feels like I'm riding a bull at the rodeo!

Borean Tundra
- Kaw the Mammoth Destroyer : always have trouble doing this quest for some reason ; die very quickly. ended up doing without the vehicle!
- Final quest in DEHTA chain - Assassination of Harold Lane is no longer elite. Although he still has more than average hit points.
- Finished 46% into 79, but finished the caldarra line

Howling Fjord
- Liked how the starting area of Valgarde was completely different to Horde.
- One quest "Fresh Legs" was to investigate sounds of battle coming from Wyrmskull Village. Went to the "?" and found dead bodies, but no quest turn in. It's at a point where there is ledges above as well, so I'm flying up and down and waiting, perhaps for a respawn. Finally I give up and look it up on wowhead - it's one of the quests that has been moved inside Utgarde Keep. Grrr.
- Funny that there is a poison supplier in Valgarde.. he sells nothing.
- The hawk quest line is pretty cools ; nothing like that on the Horde side
- Alliance story line also has more information about Loken and the Titans and hints of what's going on in Storm Peaks ; don't recall that being in the Horde side
- Dinged level 80 51 quests into the 130
- Runed Giants in giants run no longer elite, though have alot more HP than normal mobs. But miners beware!! You are given a runeseeking pick to analyse them, but the default is to actually mine them, and the corpse disappears!
- Finished 23% into 80

Tedrah

Did the Dark Moon Faire on Tedrah. I'm still frustrated by the cannon glitch.  If I don't jump soon enough I don't get any points even if I'm in the middle of the ring.  They need to fix that. I need to be better about doing the dailies every day of the fair since they don't take long and I need the tokens if I want to get the pets anytime soon.  Didn't manage to finish the grisly tokens quest so lost out on this month's 10 tokens from that.

I've made a Night Elf hunter on Nevikhoof. I had my 85 Teodora send her a Guild Rep Tabard and 20 gold as well as a big mining bag and herb bag & two regular bags. No heirlooms or anything like that. Going to follow in Ashayo's footsteps and do loremaster.  Really want to see the entire story from their perspective. I haven't gotten too far yet.  Teonna is currently level 11. I decided on another hunter because I wanted to play a class I'm really comfortable with since I'll be solo'ing so much of it. I do like the white striped cat that NE hunters start with.  A few thoughts about the starting area and Dolanaar. I really like the changes they made to Shadow Glen. The old timed quest where you had to find the elf up the path beside the spider cave has been changed.  The wounded elf is now right next to the girl that's going to heal him and you only have to get two of each ingredient and they are all around right in that area.  They also give you a helper for in the spider cave and a port back to the tree.  A lot less running around. There's also a buff for slow fall for getting down from the top of the tree.  All around really nice changes to Shadow Glen.

Dolanaar has also had changes for the better. For one there is a flight path to Darnassus. Also, instead of being able to pick up all the quests at one time and not knowing which direction to go first, they've made it so you only pick up two or three at a time and then when you turn those in the next ones become available. There is a very nice flow to the area now. Fel Rock Cave changes nice.  New quest in there that lets you kill from range the grells so you don't aggro big groups and get overwhelmed anymore. Still have more to do in Dolanaar but really enjoying it so far.

SWTOR: We are on Syth Wyrm. My Smuggler, Zix, did the Ord Mantell 2+ heroics on the Savrip Island with Aprillian and our companions.  We were level 11 so we were able to do it pretty easily which was nice. Then we flew off to the Republic Fleet and picked up our advanced class and crew skills.  I went with Scoundrel for the healing and grabbed biochem/bioanalysis/diplomacy for the stims and medpacs as well as companion gifts.

My Imperial main, Linx, on Begeren Colony server,  is now level 33, she's a BH mercenary and has her legacy and is in a guild with members from the wow guild I'm in on the Unbroken server.

My third main toon is also on Syth Wyrm that I'm leveling specifically in a group of four.  It's me as the healer and my three friends from WoW, Rachelindria, Sagiv & Zoeyvonne.  We only play those toons when we are all there. Currently working on Taris quests.

Welcome Tedra!

I've already sent her a message on Twitter but wanted to give Tedra a Valentine's welcome to Control Alt Wow. While it's true that we haven't played in a while (as Aprillian has not forgotten to point out every now and then) we still have WoW in our hearts and we look forward to hearing you every week.

Just don't let Jeppy drive you away.  I heard his insolence is like a knife. ;)

We hope you are all doing well and now I depend on you all for my WoW news.  Scary thought huh?

Hi to Vrishna, we will miss you.

For the Horde (still),

Hi CAW crew:

Fat or extra-thick French Fries are called "steak fries" (at least in NY) and the only kind of "crisp" you're ever going to see are the apple crisps that granny makes from her Betty Crocker recipe.

And biscuits are puffy bread-things from Pillsbury you use to sop up your stew.

And I know because I'm a DEATH KNIGHT!!!!   (LoL)

CAW Crew - Cadwgan

Hiya CAW crew
(Insert welsh accent here)
It's Cadwgan here. Just though I might give you a quick update on my adventures though World of Warcraft. As of late its been quite hard logging on to WOW with essays and work, I though saving the world from Deathwing would be more important than doing an essay, but there you go.
In the last two weeks I rolled my first rogue forsaken toon (Stanus). Lady Sylvanas has always been my favourite leader but the race never really appealed to me, but I decided to roll one to see what the questing was like compared to vanilla content and its defiantly changed I hardly recognized Hillsbrad foothills it was like a whole new zone. I enjoyed the Dumass quest line, but for some reason he reminds me of myself not sure why?
I was able to get him to 31, and I’m really excited to see how the forsaken story line opens up. I hope you all have a great week in and out of game.
For the Alliance and the Forsaken

P.S.Cadwgan in welsh means Battle honour.
P.P.S. This is probably the best way to say it: CAD-WWW-GAN.

Nexbardus update

Hello CAW crew,

It has been quite a long time since I sent in an update and with the maintenance this Tuesday I thought it was the perfect time to do one. I was going to try and do my first audio submission but apparently I dont have the correct hardware on my computer to do one at the moment so hopefully I can do one in the future. I was actually quite surprised by the downtime but it is kind of blessing since all my play time has been spent with the in-game holidays.

I had grand visions of taking a bunch of my toons from both Winterhoof and Earthen Ring and even 1 from Kel'thuzad around and doing the Lunar Festival holiday but due to work, family stuff and then the 3 holiday crush from last week it just didnt happen.

Over on Winterhoof I have not been doing too much unfortunately. It has been a month or more since it happened, but my Hunter Nexbardus did get Exalted with the Ctrl Alt Wow guild. I was running a lot of the new 5-man dungeons and only need a couple more drops from them before I will be ready to run LFR Dragon Soul. I would have liked to have gotten my Hunter Nexbardus the Elder and Love Fool titles but there just wasn't time. I also have a level 70 something Female Worgen Priest named Ratched that has recently gotten into the CAW guild but haven't had time to play her either.

Over on Earthen Ring I have been spending most of my time playing and leveling a new DK named Penyimon. Pronounced Pen-yee-mon and the name comes from a great book called Lucky Wander Boy that most old school gamers would enjoy. Just got him up to 85 last week and have been mostly just doing holiday stuff with him and my Shaman Nexbardus. I did get the Elder title on both of them but the Love Fool title is not looking too promising. Still possible on Penyimon but only time will tell. I opted to get the mounts first and then try for the titles second. I will be spending the Presidents Day 4-day weekend with family so very doubtful I will get any WoW time in at all so my time is running short to finish the holiday.

I actually kind of look forward to these holidays being over so I can just concentrate on gearing up. I procrastinated on doing the Lunar Festival stuff and then got overloaded when the Love is in the Air and Darkmoon Faire hit. I was forced to hurry up and get the Lunar Fest done while at the same time trying to get Love Charms everyday. Fortunately I dont do the dailies at Darkmoon Faire at least, I just do the monthly quests for now.

Well my plan for the near future is to gear up Penyimon and hopefully start tanking. I haven't tanked much in the past, a little on my Paladin Dwimmerlaik over on Winterhoof but that is it. I also want to finish gearing my Shaman Nexbardus to heal, I have run some of the new 5-mans with her but still have a ways to go. Also, hoping to get the last couple pieces that my Hunter Nexbardus needs from the new 5-mans. My goal is to get the 3 of these toons into Dragon Soul LFR soon.

Finally, I just want to thank all of you for everything you do. From making an amazing podcast to providing us with a great guild. I am not sure what I would be doing in WoW right now if I wasnt part of these guilds. Maybe in a future submission I can talk about the different guilds I have been in in the almost 7 years I have been playing this game and some of my experiences in them.

Thanks all, good luck in game, Nexbardus

Rigarmorty Audio for CAW 253

 CAW Crew,

I'm forwarding on last weeks email as I've virtually had no Wow time over the past week. My Episode 18 went on my blog today. Great having Tedra as a host!

Cheers

Getting my Diablo on

Sorry not much to report this week as I been drawn every deeper into my sexy Deamon hunter and her need to lvl up everything in the beta and get the all powerful over (insert word that I can’t spell that means you do more than required) I have to admit a greater and greater desire to get my sith on to but lack of funds and no local servers are holding me back for the moment. To everyone else I like to say happy post valentines day and for all like myself that have gone yet another year  without someone to share it with there is always next year but I am not bitter not bitter at all. Besides all that the annoying lil man at work has gone away for 2 weeks so that’s a change for the better plus last week I met a girl online chatted she invited me over and we chatted some more then like all great things in my life I screwed it up and now I think she is close to getting a restraining order against me. And I didn’t need to even tell her about my love of blades just the combination of being a hard-core gamer and a sexual deviant scared her off me thinks oh well plenty more fish in the sea as they say just got to stop hunting for minno’s with a harpoon.

For the Horde

For the Alliance

For the Sandgrophers

And for me learning how to talk to people in real life that dosen’t have them phoneing the police or running screaming in terror

Seeya

P.S no audio this week because I lazy

Submission 255 - Dont stop raiding.

Morgaine and myself have been doing the Love is in the air event and both managed to get ourselves the pink tallstrider, yay! We both forgot however that darkmoon faire was going on and did almost no quests for that. Also got my Alliance rogue to 60, making it the farthest I have ever played a rogue. I convinced the wifey to try tanking and she is steadily learning the basics of tanking, which is good. It's always great to try new things, even if its just in a video game.

I convinced her to sing my newest wow parody song and she was ready to kill me as it was a song originally sung by a man and so she had to reach...so I'm thinking I'll try and do an Adelle/Wow song. I was going to record an opening too it but It was a pain getting it too work in the first place so I'll record one of me for next time.

Anyways, you guys are streaming live now so I'll cut myself off.

Ciao

Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 254 - Lunar Love Faire

Aprillian, Ashayo, Tedrah and Jeppy discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a WoW Pet or an Authenticator.

Junno
CAW 253, sorry.

What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Logged on and found Epril in Uldum by Elder. Summoned RAF toons, was flying but steering on wrong toon.

Aprillian & Vrishna

Loving doing all the quests, they are so much fun. Some are hard, like collecting ire time

Ashayo

DMF - the Monstrous Egg that starts the quest "An Exotic Egg" can be done once a month, and isn't BoP, so you can win in a dungeon and mail to an alt. Awards 10 DMF tickets

Bladesedge Mountain
- Feels like the first outlook zone with unique alliance quest lines - out of Toshley Station. There are overlap with horde quests, but it just feels different. For one, you get "test flights" to quest areas
- New contender for worst drop rate quest in the game - "Meeting at the Blackwing coven" - you need to collect 5 costume scraps to make a disguise. To make it worse, its a quest where the tooltip doesn't show that a mob drops a quest item. Must've killed near a 100 mobs to get the 5 scraps. Put it on, wandered into the cave. There is a companion quest to use a net to capture whelps, so I cast the net .... and the disguise came off! Looked in my bags to re-apply. Nope!! Start killing again...
- Found a quest that doesn't appear to be soloable ; helping the skyguard launch an assault on Bash'ir Landing to study the Cystalforge - an elite comes out that is tough!
- Last few quests are painful because they require 35 Apexis shards
- Some quests make others not available, in particular bread crumb quests. I'd picked up one in Nagrand to go to Area 52. However, there was another on the border of BEM and Netherstorm and also one out Toshley Station to do the same thing - so they became unavailable.
- Completed the 86 quests 17% into 73

Netherstorm
- No difference at all between horde and alliance, so a hard slog of 120 quests!
- Achieved 2000 quests 21 into Netherstorm
- You,Robot quest is still a 3 man, and very hard to solo!
- Shutting down Manaforge Ara is still 3 man and hard to solo too
- Finished 39% into 75, leaving several quests incomplete.

Shadowmoon Valley
- Path of Conquest chain, which you get early on, is still a group quest , but you can at least start it solo at 75 without too much bother
- "I was a lot of things" is annoying as hell! You need to find tuber growing in the ground and blow a whistle to have a nearby boar come dig it up. Sounds easy! Except there are flayers killing the boars at about 3 to 1. So you'll find a tuber, but all nearby boars are dead or fighting near death. You can't AoE the flayers, because then the boars aggro on you. And to add insult to injury, if you blow the whistle and the boar is just out of range, the tuber disappears!
- Still a number of group quests that are tough to solo, even at 75. "Uvuros, Scourge of Shadowmoon", because he is both elite and fears. Cypher of Damnation: 3rd fragment, because Ruusk is still elite and tough. The final stage of Cypher of Damnation - still a 5 man quest! Though the 3 brothers tank him pretty well, so it has been soloed. Also Divination: Gorefiend's Armor , and in that case you need sprectacles to see the dragon, so not easy to get help! Had to complete a quest chain on Jekle. (Had done on Ashayo, but deleted sprectacles). Disssension Amongst the Ranks is pretty much impossible as a solo feral druid, because the disguise doesn't work in cat/bear form! Couldn't even get credit for kills with Jekle's help.
Stuck at 72 quests out of 90. Once you get started on opening the Netherwing chain, and get over the group quest to free the dragon, the last 10 quests go really fast out on Netherwing Ledge
Finished 58% into 76

New to your podcast

Hi CAW.  I am a new listener to your podcast (for about a month now) and I just had to let you all know how wonderful I think you guys are!!

I too am an altaholic and have been nicknamed Ane by my friends because I can be on any (Ane) toon lol.

I was wondering what it takes to join your guild.  Most of my friends either quit, raid, are hardly on due to college or work.

Much love to you all
Ane

Hello CAW Crew,

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the song I sent in last week. In response to your question, It was a parody of the song "Santeria" by Sublime. Maybe I'll do another song and include my own voice at some point. I'm extremely tone deaf, so It would probably be better for the sanity of all if I dont try and sing, but I've got a minor sadistic streak, so I may yet.

My wife and I do a lot with the local community theaters, which trust me can really cut into our WoW playing time! (I'm a maintenance man/techie by trade and a comedic actor for fun, shes a  graphic designer by trade and a singer for fun, she love karaoke, I love to watch everyone sing karaoke)

Okay now onto WoW updates: Got my little Turbocharge up to level 20. Have been trying my other lowbie hordelings and am definitely noticing the same problems I've had overtime with my alliance alts. I'm terribad at DPS. I can tank or heal with the best of them, but whenever I try and play a dpser It feels like I'm trying as hard as I can and I'm lucky to hit third place in an instance when someone inevitably posts the damage logs to ridicule me. Luckily for me, I really enjoy playing tanks and healers, im actually thinking of deleting all my horde pure dps characters except my hunter. Would give me room for more tank and healer alts.

I'm currently finishing up a total new reinstall of WoW, as well as everything else on my computer. I was having a weird audio glitch and got so fed up with none of my fixes working I decided to roll it back to factory defaults.  While this will definitely save me sanity in the long run it means a night of being a sad panda while I wait for things to redownload,

Speaking of redownloading: did you guys here about the fact that rift has gone free to play under level 20? I have an old rift account and I'll probably end up downloading it again now, since I heard this.

Well I'll cut myself off here before I go rambling on all night and turn into that weird guy at the pub who only talks about himself.

For the alliance, for the horde, and for terrible dps who can still be a surprisingly decent tank.

Wren

Aloha new guild family!!

Aloha CtrlAltWoW! I love the vibe and I have already made some dear friends! Hope to be a member for a very long time! Keep up the good work and Mahalo!

Hello CAW sweeties,
Sending big hugs and I hope this finds you all well.
It's been a busy time since I last wrote - all these world events are keeping me very busy at the moment. I've managed to get the Elders title on 2 of my 85's and finish off the Cata Elder achievement on the other 3 (these already have the title from previous years). Been working on Darkmoon Faire every month - so much fun! Few days ago I finally got exalted with them on Leeta and this gave me the Insane title! I swear I will not be doing that one on any of my alts ... but I won't promise coz you just never know lol. Have attached a pic for you   :)   enjoy.
Now that the Love Festival has started I am busy collecting tokens. This year they have added a mount to the vendor items for 270 Love Tokens so am busy doing the dailies, as well as doing the DMF dailies.
I've also been checking out gear to transmog and since most Warlocks seem to wearing my favourite Maelfic Raiment Set, I decided to get the Vengeful Gladiator's Felweave Raiment Set. I have been doing some PVP to get honor points for buying the pieces. So far just have the head and chest pieces however the colours are gorgeous and will work on the full set over the next week or so.
Also I have been doing LFR - which I've found to be really good and managed to win some pieces. So far have not had any problems with people in it - everyone seems very focused and people explain fights and what everyone has to do. Now maybe I've been lucky with it so far however as I'm not a fan of pugs I was rather dubious as to how it was going to be. So yes I've been pleasantly surprised!
Also have been running some old raids with my guildies - Molten Core and Sunwell mostly. Sunwell is still painful if you don't know the fight mechanics. But lots of fun :)
One thing I've decided to do this year is submit an audio however I'm a little lost as to what is good to use. If anyone has some advice can you please let me know - either via twitter   @Leetawow or email  me at  leetawow@gmail.com
All info greatly appreciated :)
Lastly as I have been far to busy in WoW I've barely played SWTOR the last few weeks, I find it's a nice break - when I want one from WoW - however WoW will always have my heart :)
Well this has turned about to be nearly a novel  - lol!
Stay safe and take care
Hugs Leeta
PS - I will get back to ER and Nevikhoof one of these days lol - so very busy I can't keep up with all my toons on my main server at the moment.
PPS - Was so happy to get some live 'fix' last week but I miss listening to you all live - hope you all have an extra special show :)
PPPS - Hehe just coz i can :D hugs

CAW Submission

How's that for a creative title! Here's a bit of an audio update for you. You may here some car sounds in the background. Rest assured that I started it at a stop sign, finished at a traffic light, and was hands-free in between! Unfortunately, during my one foray into editing (the trim recording feature), I clipped it a little short an didn't know how to unclip it. It should have finished with "Merrymaker Liteharted!"

I did my first LFR. Since my brother has run it ad nauseum, he was able to walk me through all 8 bosses for the achievement. Now I'm knee deep in Lovefool questing.

For the Alliance! Gnomes rule!

(I mostly just wanted to hear you say it on the podcast). ;)

Liteharted and his many alts!

Cue audio in need of editing which was better pre-editing....

Aprillian

My RAF is fun.

Aprillian & Vrishna

Azhara is so much fun.

Vrishna

Ashayo

Zangermarsh
- still some quests with horrible drop rates - Diaphanous Wings and Withered Flesh for example
- Always thought it was odd that the Horde had to build rep with The Mag'har. Never realised there was an equivalent for Alliance - Need to do the quests out of Orebor Harborage in Zangermarsh in order to build rep with the Kurenai, who also inhabit Telaar in Nagrand
- No real epic build up to any end-zone quest story/line in zangermarsh. Just a slog to find and complete the 52 quests for [Mysteries of the Marsh]. Completed 15% into 6

Terokkar Forest
- The quests outside the Auchindoun instances are now inside, but the question marks are still outside. And they don't count toward terokkar forest quests :/
- Worst drop rate quest in the zone by far - the last quest I did - "Evil Draws Near". Need to collect 20 doom skulls to summon Teribus. Must've killed over 100 mobs to get them, easily.
- Finished 95% into 69

Nagrand
- Feels weird soloing Durn The Hungerer
- Hit level 70 - they really want you to move on! Only get 100exp for a mob kill now, and 14000 for a quest. Even in shadowmoon valley, I tried a quest and got 130exp for a level 68 mob and 15900 for a quest. Went and tried a quest in Borean Tundra - still level 68 mob, but 2200 exp - and 26000 for the quest.
- Hit 67/75 quests and now struggling to find more
- Jumpatron 4000 easy - leaves druid in flight form :)
- Killed  a bunch of air elementals to gte "The Howling Wind"
- Finally worked out that if you align with Scryers in Shattrath, and head to Sanctum of the Stars in SMV, and get the quest Karabor Training Grounds, it will send you back to Altrius in Nagrand. That got me to 74, plus a quest for Shadow Labs
- Last one was ivory tusks - wasn't tracking for some reason. Finished 60% into 71

Update and WoW parody song

Hey CAW Crew,
It's been a while since I sent anything in.

As I'm slowly denting my goal of getting all 10 alliance alts to 85 without any dual boxing (I've got 5 at 85, 4 between 75-84 and one at 50). I'm slowly debating which alts to play horde side on earthen ring. As some of the alts I promised not to play without my wife it keeps my options low, so I rolled a new Goblin which I plan on making a very engineering based transmog outfit as I level up. If you see the lowbie Warrior Turbocharge in the guild, thats me. I've fallen in love with the mod mogit. It makes planning transmog outfits simple.

Anyways, with all the recent talk of SW:ToR vs WoW on the net I decided to convince my wife to sing along to a WoW parody song I made. She is currently suffering from a headcold so its not her best work ever, but I still think its hilarious. Hope you guys do too.

Ciao,
Wren and Morgaine (my wife)

PS: Can this count as her submission so she can join Clan of Darkness?

From Reefberry

Dear CAW,

The polish and shine has yet to where off the Darkmoon Faire for Durdles. Anticipating the fair’s second appearance right after New Years he ran down the Darkmoon path on foot. He stopped near a fence and gazed through a clearing admiring carnival atmosphere and fireworks. Someone brushed by him on a griffin and plummeted over the cliff. Durdles knows flying in the faire grounds is not possible. So he continues on the path toward the fair but when he reaches the bottom he goes right and follows the bottom of the cliff. Glancing up he stops at a point he judges to be below where he was standing moments ago when the griffen mount dived off the cliff. He peers into a small crevice and there he sees two skeletons. So Durdles turns around mounts up and runs back up the path to his previous location.

I noticed through real ID that Durdles was in the fair grounds already and asked him what he was up to.

He replied “I’m killing people heading to the fair.”

Mulling this statement over in my head I decide to go see for myself rather than continuing with more questions. If you knew Durdles you would probably come to the same decision. I found him along the top of the path sitting on his flying mount. He tells me to mount up. We chat a bit and watch the fireworks. After about a two or three minutes I finally ask when he going to kill a fair go’er. He tells me to be patient. I notice a few attendees running down the path, but Durdles still takes no action. We chat a little more. I turn around and watch more toons run by and turn back and watch more fireworks. I start listening to the TV behind me and perhaps tilt my head to catch a glimpse. Two riders rush by and jump and third didn’t even hesitate as he called his mount and followed them.

Durdles starts roaring with the /LOL and types “see.”

Before I reply, he messages again “they see us here on flying mounts and jump off.”

So that was his diabolical plan, entice people over the edge. I did see some people survive and others jump down in stages because there was a secondary lip below us. However, I think the whole affair is just funnier in “his” head.

After about twenty minutes I went down to play a few games and earn some tickets. The tonks and turtle toss went without a hitch but I was having trouble with the cannonball. Last month I did the cannonball without any trouble. Press the button right at the edge of the dock. I was up to five tries and still hadn’t won any points. I moved on to whack-a-gnoll thinking I’ll get back to the cannon later. Whack-a-gnoll went smoothly, two tickets and done. I started thinking about the CAW episode where Ashaio spoke about his trouble with the cannon shot. I didn’t remember what was said but thought one piece of advice was looking from top down. Two more tries and still no points. I glanced down at the keyboard and noticed my finger on the space key and not the one key. Uhhhggg!

Moving on to the target gallery, I sit in the road and wait for the giant tauren on his mount to move on before I attempt target practice. After a few minutes, well maybe just half a minute, when your waiting for others time seems to creep by so slowly. I move up to the counter and type “:: cough cough ::” in the say channel, nothing. I try again more pointedly “/say Excuse me sir could you dismount or move away from the counter?” still nothing. I rummage through my bags for the baby spice and sprinkle it on him. Ah ha, a reaction, the AFK sign goes up. I suppose I could report him, but I just log out and into another character waiting his turn at the Faire. Ah, the advantages of many alts.

Finally, the Target Gallery booth looks clear. I pay my ticket and jump right to it, blam, blam, pause, turn, blam, blam, pause, turn, blam, blam, hmmmm again no points. Double check my keys, two side arrows and the one key, yup that checks. Blam, blam, pause, turn, blam, blam, still no points. Jiminny jeepers what the what is going on! Times up. I’m out in the road with the stun emote over my head and right then I sure was really feeling that emote. I run back up and to pay another ticket, the dialog box opens and there is a little blue asterisk there. Well that’s a big, HUH! I paid my ticket but never took the quest.

---- End of Story ----

Reefberry of Clan of Darkness continues to collect herbs and mine. His professions are > 220 but not quite the 300 needed for the Outlands region which is where he should be questing. He grabbed a snowshoe bunny and a few bags from the guild bank. I haven’t been to Outlands for questing since Northrend was released. Now I have three toons preparing to adventure in Outlands.

The Lunar Festival is just around the corner. I hope we can search out those elders and get experience for the underlings this year. And this year my wife has one of the recruit-a-friend rockets so she can fly my little underlings around in stead of just me as a Sandstone Drake carting her toons all about. Not that I mind, but its nice not to do all the driving all the time.

Five Years, High Five!
Reefberry

Greetings CaW crew!!

It was a Very Big week in wow for Kallistø and Prøsperø who went from never doing Dungeons or Raids to doing more than nine in just two days. All this new and exciting adventure is due to the wonderful people in the Clan of Darkness.
It started with an invite from Auntpol (Forteetwo) and Atteeka (Melindra) to accompany them on their quest for the "Elders of the Dungeons" title as mentioned on last week's show.
This was so much fun that the next day the intrepid adventurers embarked on a dungeon marathon that included Karazhan, where a massive chess match was the bane of their existence and a great dragon fell at the hands of the mighty heroes. Magtheridon's Lair began with an epic party wipe but the second try ended in victory with Magtheridon's severed head delivered triumphantly to Thrallmar.  Heroic Magistrar's Terrace, or the Transmog shopping mall, was a very profitable trip were almost everyone received something shiny and pretty. They proceeded to the Heroic Culling of Stratholme attempting to beat the clock and receive the much coveted Bronze Drake. They missed it by less than 25 seconds which was pretty good for a first try.
Many many thanks to Forteetwo and Melindra for a fantastic evening of fun and mayhem. You guys totally rock!!!
In the midst of all the chaos Prøs and Kall, even managed to complete the entire holiday achievement to receive their first title, "Elder".

The next day "Elder" Prøsperø and Kallistø dinged 85 (big grats all round) Shortly after that Nephindil, announced in guild chat that he'd like to do a random dungeon. They jumped into the queue and in less than 3 minutes found themselves in Grim Batol. The dungeon was fast and the group was good. They queued again this time landing in Vortex Pinnacle. Again the group was good though there was a slight pause when our tank, Neph, had to go AFK to entertain an unexpected visitor (but he can tell you all about that himself). With the tank returned to the party, they made short work of the last bosses and all was well. By that time it was getting late, but the group decided to do "just one more". Halls of Origination was next and it too was quick and painless. All in all, three good groups in a row is pretty good for our first batch of "at level" random dungeons.
Thanks Neph, you are truly a titanic tank :)

Most recently the Necro's decided to make "THE BIG MOVE". Yes thats right, they brought their high level toons over from Velen (their old sever) to their new home, Earthen Ring. To facilitate this they had to have a massive auction sale on Velen (that lasted three days) then do some toon deleting, some /gquiting, some character realm transfers, a guild leader change and even a guild realm transfer.
Special thanks to Jeppy for signing our old / newly transferred Level 85 Nekronomicon, Nekromantik, AlhÃ¥zzred and Yaniya (and several other toons) into the guild.
Now the Necro family are all together under one roof. (Yay!)

Thanks to one and all for your great podcast and for making the game we love so much, even better.

Cheers,

Undead love is forever

 Hiya CAW crew

Greetings from the beautiful mountain side of Snowdonia. I've been a long time listener of ctrl alt wow and the show keeps me entertained when grinding up levels for my alts.
A little bit about my journey through Azeroth, I joined the game very late on and annoyingly have the title Wrath Baby..

After getting my first toon to level 80, the next day all I wanted to do was create a new character instead of doing those scary raids. I first realised that I should stay away from end game content when I got into a raid and died …. a lot!!. Me and my guild both decided I shouldn’t go near raid portals if I could avoid it. But to be fair fire isn't green or bubbling.
At the moment I only have two 85s (Cadwgan:Human DK and Derwydd:Worgen Druid) an 83 (Duckncover:Worgen Hunter) and about 20 different alts all at different levels and factions.
Unfortunately I can only afford one subscription and I’m stuck in the EU, but over summer I am hoping to start a new account and hopefully join the Clan of darkness if you guys will have me?
Keep up with the awesome show

For the Alliance and the Forsaken

P.s. How the heck do you guys dual-box? I think controlling one character is stressful enough in dungeons.

Update

Hey CAW crew! I was so happy to hear all four of you on the show last week.  The fill in guests did an awesome job, but my heart belongs to you guys...and Aprillian.

I'm afraid this is going to be really short because I have been playing very little WoW lately. I've been moonlighting in the Game Which Shall Not Be Named. I do love having my very own spaceship. But I must say I was inspired by all the lore master work going on. Tedrah became a lore master before Cata, but I think I'm going to create an Alliance toon and see life from the other side start to finish. All the new quest chains Ashayo has been talking about sound fun.

It was thrilling to hear Alachia on the show a couple weeks ago. I'm such a fan girl of hers and she and ElJeppy together are the cat's meow.

I haven't done any Lunar Festival at all. But you mentioned a pet so I may have to jump on it and see if I can manage to get one before it's over.

Guess that's it, I just wanted to say hi and I haven't disappeared, just laying low for a bit. Hope you all have a great week in WoW.

Dusting off the Hunter

Hail JAVA,

Hope all are well.  Raiding has progressed for Brewdawg we are now 7/8
and have gotten to the third platform in the final boss encounter "The
Madness Of Deathwing." We are extending our lockout to work on him
Friday.

If you have done this fight in Raid Finder the biggest difference is
that the Elemental Shard must be killed before it reaches the platform
or it will wipe the raid.  Everything also has more health and hits
harder.  There are 4 platforms with an Aspect providing the raid a
buff behind each.  As you defeat Deathwings claws you lose the buff
from that aspect.  It makes for a very dynamic fight on ten man.  You
choose the order you lose the buffs.  There is no best order because
every raid team has different strengths and weaknesses.

For example my raid has a balance of ranged and melee but our range
are mostly dot classes.  So bursting down the Elemental Shard is a
challenge at the moment.  One of the buffs slows down the shard so we
leave that buff for last.

In Raid Finder you always leave the buff up that kills the little
tentacle adds because it is hard to coordinate DPS to single target
them down.  In a regular group it is relatively easy to focus DPS.

I have also started raiding with my Paladin on a more casual team
sacrificing the amount of time I've been spending in a Galaxy far far
away.  That group is 5/8.  Unlike Brewdawg my Pally is under-geared
for Dragon Soul.  It's a fun challenge there is very little room for
error.  On a fight like Ultraxion I have to divide up my defensive
cool-downs and time them so as many are up as possible for every "Hour
of Twilight."

I had fun tanking that fight in Raid Finder last week.  The other tank
apparently had no clue what he needed to do and did not ask before the
pull.  So he got one shot by "Fading Light" and I had to single tank
the rest of the encounter.  Basically you get a dot on you that will
kill you if you do not exit the Twilight realm before it expires.
When you do that you drop all threat.

With two tanks the off tank picks up the boss so the main tank can get
out.  Then the main tank taunts the boss back when the off-tank get
"Fading Light" so he can get out.  Everyone but the main tank gets out
when Twilight hits..  As the only tank I had to pop out twice between
each Twilight and hope the healers got me to full health before it
hit.  Every time I popped out one of the DPS would get agro.  Towards
the end the boss hits harder so they were getting one-shot.  It became
a race. Could we get him down before we lost to many the DPS and hit
the enrage timer?  We got him down and I got several grats whispers.

Treaul (Troll) my long forgotten hunter has been brough out of
retirement.  I got him geared up and started running Raid Finder.
It's cool to see the fights from the "back" of the room instead of
from the bosses crotch.  The main reason I started playing him more is
I wanted to get the valor point helm named after Zaherah .  She is the
creator of femaledwarf.com an amazing hunter DPS analyzer.  Only BRK
has done more for the hunter community than Ms. Zaherah.  The helm is
very cool looking and Treaul is now sporting it.

Hope y'all have a great week.

Episode 253 submission

Hola CAW Crew!

I hope that everyone has had a good week, in and out of the game. We are sorry that we haven't been able to submit  an audio the last few weeks, it just seems that real life hits us with one thing or another!

I have been a bit ill the last week, and my voice has taken a bit of a hit. Not to worry, though, as I have been to the doctor, and am on the road to recovery.

As for Kithore, he's up to his old tricks, trying to get new rims for his cruise-mobile. He has been in game a few times, mostly running heroics on Kithorina and Kithore. He did swipe the old Alliance guild away from Claypidgeon a few days ago, but will give it back when they are both online.

Well, as Kithore would say, this is getting kind of long! Hope everyone has a great week!

Audio submission!!

Hello CaW crew!

As promised a audio submission for you. Hope everyone had a great of WoW. I felt that I could go on forever with the audio but cut it short to save time for your other segments. So, if you happen to spot a poorly stealthed Rogue in Orgrimmar, it's probably Pennypocket, and is mostly harmless.....mostly. Enjoy!

Oh and by the way, (shameless plugging continued) there is a contest to name the podcast I mentioned in the audio submission. A 30 day game card is the prize, visitwww.flanknet.com to find out how to win!

Very respectfully-

Pennypocket
