I spent some time going to my “neighborhood“ it was very disappointed that the power wasn’t working. I thought I had figured it all out.


Thursday


I was inspired by Grand Nagus’s discussion of his home in Final Fantasy 14 that I decided to decorate in No Man’s Sky. There are lots of things to use and you can resize them and color them and position them in different ways. This is what I did today, but I’m gonna keep working.



My house for April Pvd is glass walls and glass floors over a nice colorful cave. I put up some walls to create a bedroom and then I made a living room with curtains and couches and plants.


Logged into Sebastian to check out the lighting situation at the other three bases, but he was at a heap so I decided to go ahead and do a waste run. The plant was further than I thought it would be, but I was listening to PHM for the fifth time and it was very relaxing so I did the run, but as I was playing , I noticed that I was continuously being shot at. I opened up my settings and turned off PVP, but I still kept getting shot at. I ended up having to bring in my ship and shoot it down and then I had to find my Colossus again. My squadron came in to help me and then after I shot down that ship, I got some cred with the V guys and then the sentinel started to come, but I just got found my Colossus and then just started going and they eventually went away. But that was so weird.




Friday

Wanted to do some screen recording on my flat screen so I got the idea of using OBS but the output was so bad and I’m really enjoyed the output on QuickTime player, but it wouldn’t record just the sound it would record my voice or anything I was doing in in the room which sometimes I’m when I am flat screening I’m usually watching something on TV. After several hours, I finally figured out how to record with QuickTime and I’m very happy. But it was a lot of work. I also duplicated a bunch of salvage data so that I could give them to all my alt so I can work on my building. I don’t know why but I’ve gotten in the building book or I do know why it’s because of Grand Nagus. But I’m excited because I have some ideas and we opportunities that No Man’s Sky has for building.





Headstrap

The cool thing about the quest three headset is that like the iPhone you customize it but instead of a cool case you put on your own hedge strap. The head strap that comes with the quest three is just an elastic band and it’s very uncomfortable. So you have options of different head straps and the most popular one is the halo head strap which is named after the device to isolate your head if you have a brain injury or a surgery. The one I have been using for years like I talked about in the previous episode was leaving depressions on my head and after a few weeks, I’m trying one that did not have The 2 pads at the top. It was evident that they were in the causing false spots. At the same time, the new hedge strap had only one battery, and there was no way other than buying another head strap, which I did consider, that I could get an additional battery and I was only getting two hours from said battery even though the advertisement sent 4 to 6. So my only option if I wanted to continue gaming after the two hour mark was to plug in using a USB-C cable. But of course, this meant that my movement was hampered. The goal of trying the new hedge drum was to see if my hair will grow back and I could stop shaving my head, but I didn’t realize it was a while. The two pads on the top of the bobo VR head strap was causing baldness spots, there was a spot at the back top of my head. That was also just bald. I don’t know if it’s alopecia or just old age, there is a thought that it might’ve been from my heavy locs but I don’t think so. So I decided to go back to shaving my head, which means I can use that other headset because I really want the battery duration. So I swapped them out. I did see that there is another bubble VR head strap for $80. That includes a fan which I don’t need, but it doesn’t have the pads on the top.


Saturday

I worked a little bit longer on Aprillian’s house. I put in some shelves and put dishes out and set up a kitchen with the refrigerator. I also put in a balcony. Then I went to work on Sebastian’s house and I love it. I made this beautiful staircase, and this gorgeous roof.



For all of my new builds, I’ve made high ceilings so each floor is two walls high. It’s really interesting how No Man’s Sky does the walls because they change when you stacked them on top of each other. I have to admit I use the duplication method for the salvage data to buy the blueprint plans. It was funny because while I was doing the building, I wanted to put the stairwell in and I hadn’t done the roof. This go round I actually learned how to do the slanted roof and place the corners properly. But I went to work on the balcony and some other parts and I kept getting the warning that I was losing my shield and I realized I hadn’t put the two middle parts in the roof.




I had eon doing all of her changes to her base and it was beautiful, but she had a few things that she had gotten from April Pvd so I logged April P. I logged her in on my laptop and then I want to do some stuff and I was away for about an hour when I got back he was almost was dead. I had died and her inventory was empty. Fortunately, I did the restore point and she got all her stuff back, but I forgot that sometimes when you log back in you, log back in outside your property, even though you logged inside, so I’m glad that I was able to reload. That’s the thing you have to remember is that you can reload I’ll go back to your restore point instead of panicking. I was gonna go look for her grave, but I had a feeling you know if you die and then die again grave is gonna be empty so I didn’t want that to happen.

OK, this was crazy. I worked on Epril’s house for almost an hour and I had it looking so cute. I even put some storage things under her landing pad because April Pvd had the blueprints and she didn’t and then I logged off April Pvd In VR and got back on Epril who was on with me but on flatscreen and I had joined her game with April Pvd, but everything was gone. So while I was in VR with Epril I logged on Apple Pvd on the flatscreen as she joined Epril’s game, and when I did was had a Pvd lay down stuff that she had the blueprint for that Epril didn’t and then went back to Epril and grab the stuff and put them where they needed to be and made copies of them so it’s not as cute as it was originally, but it still looks nice and I’m really having fun making the cute little homes. I took some lockers and shrunk them down and rotated them to make them look like books and I also went to the anomaly and got another plant.

Removed bio dome and used small walls around the outside and planted grass.

Worked on Sebastian’s home creating a solarium along with a building to hide the solar panels and batteries

Good day all.. Kep here! 

So the latest Warcraft expansion (Midnight) released on the 2nd of March (if you had early access). My highest characters are still only level 83, as I cannot quite decide which character to play? I have so many different options, I really should just pick one to main and crack on! I guess that is one of the problems with being an Altoholic??!


Anyway.. I have been questing around the Isle of Quel’Danas, Silvermoon City and Eversong Woods, which has brought back some very found memories of The Burning Crusade! (TBC)


I have collected some more mounts: Innovation Investigator, Leaping Vein Seeker, Comfy Bel’ameth Flying Quilt, OC91 Chariot, Delver’s Gob-Trotter (to name a few).

Spent most of the day with April Pvd doing waste runs, and building mini bases at plants. Also working on the road. Sometimes I ended up going the wrong way, but it was still fun. I just love being on the planet.

Friday

Ended up building some more roads with April Pvd, and working on the bases. Visited three heaps and the waste had respawned.

Saturday

I spent way too much time running my Colossus with trash on April Pvd, but it’s so relaxing. I finally gave up building roads because I would sometimes not connect them because the ground was smooth enough, but then I would forget where the next point was and you can only put five saved beacons on a planet. I made one big bridge that I’m gonna have to go back and find and remove find them no matter cause I was having fun.

Monday

Found another planet that is frozen and so much more easier to navigate. Has three heaps close to one plant. April Pvd managed to get all the perks and so now I am working on the other three.

 

Tuesday

So I was out with April Pvd and I found a power source and April Pvd doesn’t need any more waste and she doesn’t need to make another base on this plant so I brought in Aprillian and she made a base in April Pvd all right so I’ll shoot what happened oh, for some reason I started running. I didn’t even know I could auto run and I am how the heck do I get way over here? That was so crazy! I had a April Pvd at her base and I was bringing in a and she was able to to the base that April Pvd had built for her on the electromagnetic source and then teleport to the base April Pvd had built at the plant. But when she got there and I went back onto April Pvd was in the she was a few hundred units away and apparently have auto run which I didn’t know I could do in VR. But like Grand Nagus says I probably need to check the binding settings. I did two trips from heaps with a it was a lot, which makes it all the more sci-fi like.

I know how silly it seems but working on the housing was fun. I did encounter a slight problem that when I went back to a brilliant house pieces were missing so I spent some time going back in logging in with April Pvd, and then going back in to all the houses to make sure everything was stable because of course Apple Pvd has all the blueprints.

I thought maybe one of the problems with things disappearing or not being able to see the other houses from the sky was because we weren’t all friends were. We’re all linked by the Steam account but not in games so I decided to get all the Friend codes and share them with all the characters.

I know it’s crazy, but I had to go back to blueberry Hill to get rid of all the streets I made because I wanna make Pvd to my main base in City and I’ve been working on that and I realize that there is a limit to how many pieces you can create or have placed in a world in No Man’s Sky so I am on blueberry Hill deleting the massive amount of roads that I put in. I wish there was a quicker way, but I can’t see any. I have to manually delete each one and a few times I kept falling and some of them were so high up of the only way I could get to them was to create a base and build a ramp of stairs up to the road. I also deleted all of the bases I built and just left one house that was built at a power station. There are some places where there’s natural power and you can just put down an electromagnetic thing that will automatically get power. I love when I find one of those. I did go back to the anomaly and use some salvage data to get some more blueprints for different parts to build April Pvd‘s house. I brought Sebastian in to join me because I would be at a plant that I was going to delete the base and he was able to get some more waste to complete the challenge. He actually got the new wheels.

Monday 

When I’m not in game, I spend a lot of time thinking about the game. I want to work on the neighborhood and I’m wondering how close I can build to each other.

Finally kind of figured out the whole solar panel battery thing. Once you realize that you need to have a battery for every solar panel and then have all the batteries connected it makes it so much easier. And the video I’ll even tells you the maximum amount of power you have available and what your are currently using. On a brilliant I was able to find one of those electromagnetic power sources. But the other three had to be battery powered. I also used one of those attachments to hide the “cords”.

Logged in as Aprillian and visited other bases only to find them not powered. But once Epril joined, everything showed up. I owe retroactive apology to my thoughts on others bases power system failure..

Found an underground cave under Aprillian’s base so I put a short term teleporter between second floor and cave!

Grand Nagus:

Saw this on a video: If you want an extra powerful mining laser, get a sentinel multitool, the special mining laser thing on it is ok, but if you install a normal mining laser in addition to the sentinel one, you get a super laser.

Numbers wise, with only one laser I start at 40 dps and it builds up and overheats eventually. With the double laser setup, I start at 375dps and the laser doesn’t overheat for minutes.

Got my Autophage settlement up and running.

Finished the quest to be able to go to the purple star systems.

Watched a video about potentially optimal tech layout of the exosuit.

Found my first Endless Seas planet (requires completion of Autophage questline, since you need access to purple star systems). Then you look for them and just go to the different ones, i was lucky to get a hit on the first try of looking for an Endless Seas planet.

I finished the Minitaur quest chain, and now I'm summoning it whenever I fight Sentinels.

I finished the Nautilon quest too.

Still going strong in finding all the fauna on planets.

Finish the expedition on E, Sebastian and Aprillian and it was fun. I even did some more on the flatscreen. There is an advantage to being able to see the payload.





Thursday

Took April Pvd back to the planet from the expedition but realize it is a bland planet so I went to some of the planets that she had bases on it. Realized that all planets do not have the waste on it, but I found one that was nice and purple and pretty and started collecting stuff. I found this on a Facebook page and it tells you what you can do to get the blueprints for various things. I want the Furnace Chassis Module.

I got a new head strap



I switched out head straps because a part of me was suspecting that the pads that was holding the headset was pressing into my scalp and causing two bald spots. If it works and the headset on the left doesn’t cause the bald spots Or rather I don’t have the bald spots using the new one I will be both happy and sad wearing my VR headset was part of the problem. The only problem with the new head strap is that the battery pack only lasts two hours and there’s no way to get an another one short of buying another strap which would just be silly although I am considering it. But if I use one of five backup batteries from the other heads with a long cable it works OK. It’s not that important with No Man’s Sky because I’m normally standing in the same spot. Other games like Zenith and Medieval Dynasty and legendary tales where I had to move around a lot it was more confiding to be“leashed”. They added advantage of being leashed to a portable battery system, as opposed to being plugged into something does make a difference.

I got on Aprillian and she went to the anomaly to buy some the Geo Bay and some more tech for the Colossus. It’s kind of confusing because some of the text says excel craft and they’re not really for the Colossus. You have to really pay attention. Some of the tech she brought back from the expedition I mean it’s not a lot of nanites but it just seems silly to re-buy tech that I already owned. Aprillian tried one of her planet and it didn’t have waste on it. She wanted to do something else and she needed the resonators which she doesn’t have the plans for so she went to April Pvd, who was on her planet that has wast. While there she teleported to one of the processing plants that April Pvd had put a base near. Now Aprillian hadn’t done any waste in her main save so she didn’t even have the flatbed. There was some complications at first of all when she went to the first processing plant there was no waste around. So she went looking for some regular waste, brought it back to the plant, threw it in. Then she tried to summon her colossus and she pulled out the Geo bay and it said she didn’t own a colossus. So she went back to her game and was confused for a second and thought maybe she had to go back to the anomaly and buy something but then I remembered she had pulled out her Colossus to install the tech that she brought back from the expedition. So I’m wondering if that means that you can’t pull out your Colossus and somebody else’s game. I’ll have to experiment with that once she got back to her, then went back to that planet because she had put a base there. She was able to pull out her Colossus. She also purchased some S class EXO craft engine boosters, but it turned out that the ones that she had gotten from the expedition were better.

Tried a few planets to see which one I could easily get from waste heap to process the plant. Still can’t scan to identify on my in vr on my colussus took



Saturday

Saw a silly post about building roads“ between Plants and waste heaps. Decided to try it it takes a lot of work, but it’s doable. Of course it depends on how far apart they are. It is interesting because you can build way away from your base as long as it’s connected to something else.

I ended up building bridges/roads on April Pvd’s planet, and on Aprillian’s. It is time consuming, but it’s very rewarding when it works. The biggest problem I may encounter is the response factor. I was reading on Facebook that someone was disappointed because their waist hand respond. So that would be interesting to see.

Sunday

Ended up getting up early because I to see if my waste had respawn. I am really enjoying this part of the game. My biggest motivation as I login right now is to see if I can get to 200 so I can get the grinding mechanism.

I built another set of bridges on April Pvd’s planet, blueberry Hill, and then I brought In Aprillian to run it. It turns out everything responds for the next person. I love this bridge building stuff.




All right, I made a big mistake with E I feel so stupid. First of all if you haven’t had a Colossus before you do have to go to the anomaly with some salvage data and buy the blueprint. I brought her into a April Pvd‘s planet so that she could use the bridge as well and she didn’t have the blueprint for the Colossus. So she had to go back to the anomaly and then when she got back because I had put bases at the plants, she had to move further out to place her Geo bay, but then she didn’t have the paraffinin but I knew I had reminded everybody to take it with them from the expedition, but when she had come back from the expedition, her spaceship was full or filled up her inventory filled up and so she pulled out another ship and that’s where her parrafinin was. So when she got that. Then to get her first piece of trash to throw in the thing so she could get the flatbed but she didn’t have her coil on her multitool so she went to buy the blueprint and then she went to her afraid to get a gravity Eno ball and then she had to go to April Pvd to get some magnetic resonators. She went to all that work and all she needed to do is go to the anomaly and make a copy of her multitool. but then she got stuck because she couldn’t get past creating her flatbed. She installed the flatbed on the colossal, but the logbook would not go past that point. It kept saying she needed to do that even though she had done it.

Jumped on Sebastian for just a moment and he was at the anomaly, went over to the console and looked at the multitool, and there was the gravity coil in the multitool that he had left behind. This makes me so frustrated.



It wasn’t showing up that the chassis flatbed had been installed for Sebastian so I logged off of the VR and logged into the flat screen game and went to the plant and shoved some stuff in the grinder and then it showed up.





Monday

spent most of the day with E getting her the things she needed to be able to do the waste quest line. Jumped on April Pvd for a second to put up some railings on one of them ramps/roads she made. It might be more efficient just to go from Plant to Plant first. The first time you get to a plant there’s a bunch of waste there for you to chuck in to the grinder.


Tuesday

Flew around with a brilliant to find other planets with waste. It seems like it also has to be a plan with salvageable waste. The planet, that April Pvd built several bridges on she named a blueberry Hill and it’s one of the few planets have come upon that had salvageable waste and didn’t have sentinels I took Sebastian to the system where Apple Pvd was, but a different planet popped up as part of the quest line objectives. So that’s nice that she has an alternative. This planet has aggressive sentinels, but it looks a little bit flatter.

Back on Blueberry Hill with Seb on other side of planet, setting up bases at every heap and plant he can find.

To get a pirate freighter to spawn for your battle, you need to already own a freighter, so you can’t ever get a pirate freighter as your first ( FREE ) freighter. Interesting!

Sentinel modifications:

An additional set of modifications, or updates, you can install in your Exosuit and Multitool, with three mods each, for a total of six additional mod modules, are the Sentinel modifications.

How do you get those modules? They are a random drop when you extract components from Salvaged Glass that drop off Sentinels when you kill them.

I collected 12 Salvaged Glass, and after I extracted the components, I ended up with two Multitool and four Exosuit mod., so a little under 50% chance to get a mod.

I started two settlements, the first quest connected, and a second, on a paradise planet.


On the first settlement I added a water tower and just before we started recording, I started constructing a retail area.

I checked the social media while I was in bed and saw this:

Before I started brushing my teeth, I went to all three computers and started the update. I was horrified because my MacBook Pro was still running Aprillian because I had logged into her with the intent of moving her to a safe spot, but she was in the anomaly and she was able to make another copy of the last ship she took to the expedition. I logged her off and when I came back after the update, she went in and the expedition was not available at the anomaly, but she was able to start a new game and going to the expedition.

I watched a couple of videos while working on one of my characters multitool. Usually, I don’t want anything cause I don’t like spoilers, but these were just about people trying things out outside of the expedition. I had one character go to the anomaly and I saw that the event was available, so I’m still gonna use the one that I started first just to see what’s available and to know what to bring. I still don’t know what to bring. Do I bring suspicious packets or do I bring runaway mold?


Well, the jokes on me because you didn’t need anything, but I’m not gonna spoil it actually when you go to the console, it tells you all about it so… But I really like this expedition like I said in last week‘s podcast it was first available from a new game and then a few hours later, it was available at the console so I started it with Aprillian but then once I realized it was available on the main save. I switched over to April Pvd, and a lot of what I learned from my first foray into the expedition was very handy. This isn’t a real big spoiler cause you’re not taking anything in it. When you first started, you do want to make sure you get all the feritte that you can and of course in any expedition you wanna look at your tech in both your multitool and suit to make sure that they are in the best configuration. I hate to say this cause I don’t wanna sound snobby, but this expedition is perfect VR. I was watching someone play it on YouTube and trying to put the barrels in the payload was weird. They were just doing it on the screen with the keyboard and mouse or controller. We actually have to pick up the containers and maneuver them into the truck bed and it feels so nice plus I haven’t driven since 1984 and I feel like I’m driving when I’m operating a vehicle.

Oh my goodness, I love this expedition so much. There has been so much hate for it on the forums that I cannot believe it. Yes some of it is tedious and the driving is a mess, but I have been so into it. I started the expedition with April Pvd, and her main save and then I brought E in with her. I’ve been alternating back-and-forth. I found out that I can give my leftover waist to one of my other characters so when I bring back waste, I try to bring back twice as much. And then I share it. The upgrades you get from the milestones are great, especially the ones that allow the tires to grip. And then breaking down the outdated technology finally gives you wire looms, so I could install other things like the force field into my multitool. It is a little tricky, sometimes using the coil, but I’m starting to get the hang of it.

Friday

I thought maybe there was an update because it seemed like I was driving better and holding stuff but I think I’m just getting better at it. When I do the characters that are multi boxing on the flat screen, I suck so badly. But in the VR, I am loving it so much. Somebody wrote on the Facebook performance they wished there was a camera in VR so they could see when the stuff was coming out of the truck and I just use the counter.

A few things I learned is that if you encounter a cliff wall, you can use the terrain manipulator to build ground.

Saturday

Played for six hours straight and I had so much fun. Shout out to whoever posted on the Facebook group about going into a cave with the sentinels and just bouncing them off the walls. That was fun and very satisfying. I think I even did it more than 32 times because it felt so good.

Sunday 

I started out with Aprillian, but then decided to finally finish with April Pvd. I had left her at a waste depot because she needed the green bubble waste, the ones you put in the tank after you walk up the stairs and the waste depot was empty of waste when she got back. So I logged off there, hoping that when she logged back in, they would have respawned and they did. I had the most surreal experience because I was listening to Project Hail Mary and he was dealing with an alien environment, and I was on the planet dealing with an alien environment, and when I got my character out of the expedition and back to her freighter, it felt like I was really coming home. I tried many different combinations of things and I did a bunch of alt stuff with having one character come to another characters game and sharing some of the waste products and it worked out really.

Some people have reported that their farms changed, so I’m gonna check on my runway moles when I get a chance.

April Pvd back into her main save and she went to the anomaly bought some Colossus upgrades with nanites, and then she created her Geobay and set it out since installed some of the techno all of the technology that she took out of her colossal and now she is getting ready to do her first waste pick up on her main save. One of the modules she got from the anomaly was for a refiner with three slots. She took she didn’t bring back her paraffin and stuff which I’ll have to remember on my other characters to bring back with me because you’re gonna need that to create your Geo Bay in your main save. She used her scanner to find a waste processing plant and after she put in the first chunk in the non-special waste grinder, she got the plans for the dump truck.

Did my debriefing and saw the report from My frigate that summoned me to come and join and fight with them.

It’s always exciting when you’re frigates on their journey to get stuff for you calls for you.


Monday

Twitch Drops


I played over six hours today and probably that amount for the last few days.

I did over six hours and I experimented with bringing my other characters into the expedition. Sebastian had a full load of waste and Aprillian just needed one of the radioactive and two of the bubbles so they got together and it was chaos because even though they are just playing with each other, it’s still multiplayer and Aprillian was able to get what she needed onto her truck and then go back to her safe. I don’t know if I had to, but I did dump all of Sebastian’s stuff out in My, but she was on the flat screen and I can’t figure out how to do the coil gun on the flatscreen well. Just when I think I’ve figured it out press the left button and then the right mouse button or vice versa. It doesn’t work. So my idea was to log off on Aprillian and log back in on Sebastian and VR and do it, but when I logged off and logged back in her stuff was gone that had been on the ground so it does seem like you have to make sure it’s in the truck before you log off. I spent a long time driving one place to the other and I also got some EXO suit pods. I tried to be efficient with getting waypoint and the monolith by checking each availability as I was heading to the next checkpoint. I was really surprised at one point I checked for an EXO suit pod got it and then checked again and there was one not too far away.



Tuesday

I was out walking, and I passed by Brown University, where a fish company was delivering a load and the guy was backing into the spot and it reminded me of how I’ve gotten used to backing up my Colossus although I’m sure it’s not exactly the same.

Legendary Tales 

I have been playing it on the PCVR side and was hesitant to buy it on the quest side but they went on sale for 25% off so I got it. I’ll be comparing it next week. I’m curious because there were some tricks we could do on the PC side to duplicate your inventory. I’m also curious as to whether or not I could play with my toon on the PVCR. I do have multiple headsets.

Good day Ctrl Alt Wow, NMS and FF crew!

So the last few weeks have been the same as usual in game.. I’ve been levelling yet more Alts to 80, making use of the bonus XP events and the pre-Midnight launch event, which is actually quite decent for levelling.

I have lost count of how many max level character I now have, 25++??


The Lunar Festival has begun, so I’ve been flying round all the old places in Azeroth collecting coins and reminiscing to myself about certain areas. It was good to see the old sights again!


The ‘Love is in the Air’ event is happening right now too! I have been running the quick dungeon event for approximately a week.. anyway, this morning (Tuesday) the Big Love Rocket (X-45 Heartbreaker) dropped for me!! And then.. to my surprise, in the same box was the Spring Butterfly Mount!! Mega lucky! The Love Rocket only had a 0.09% drop rate!

I was VERY happy!


I have still not done much with my house.. I’ve been to busy with other things and have limited time to play due to RL stuff. So far my plot/house has a big tree in the front garden (which I planted by accident) and a huge beer barrel in the front room (which I also placed by accident). I cannot seem to delete them? I haven’t been back since! Hahaa
