Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 134 - RAF=Referring Actual Friends

Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a month free of WoW or a $10 iTunes Gift Card or an Authenticator, they are back in the store.

What We've Been Doing:

My New Toon: SebastiƄn = http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Earthen+Ring&n=Sebasti%C3%A5n
and David's : Vrishna = http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Earthen+Ring&n=Vrishna

Used a brewfest ram to get my level 22 Troll Priest to Sin'jin village to get her raptor mount. She only had 3 mounts to choose from

Got the Elek on Epril, going to try to get it on Aprillian. Not going for any achievements.

Saw more Violet Proto Drakes

Running Wailing Caverns with BF/David

Got Grunty on

Dark Iron Dwarf cog

Feeding pets

Switching aspects and forth

Spent about 45 min FP jumping with Vrishna

Did a 1.5 levels grinding Yeti in the cave in Hillsbrand

Won 3 Arathi Basin BG's

3.2.2 surprise release - Disconnect bug?

Raids 'n Stuff
- Ashayo ran ToC 10 man this week and won [Icehowl Binding] off the Northrend Beasts. Still struggling with Faction Champions - haven't tried since 3.2.2 nerf.
- Ashayo ran Onyxia 25 man - wiped on trash! A few tries, but got her down.
- Jekle ran VoA for the first time - felt noobish getting achievement on older bosses. Won the tier 9 legs off Koralon. (Don't even have those on my priest or warlock)

- Coren Direbrew - won the remote. Lost the BoE mace, and 3 mounts. Did the old "summon everyone's alts" and killed him about 20 times in one run
- Going to miss out on Brew of the Year - have to renew subscription!

Pants on Head
- Ran Arcatraz - instance server shutdown just as we started the last boss
- Tried a 5 man ToC group with PoH. Tempeste on her priest, Wych on his hunter, me tanking in dps gear/spec, Grimrok on his warlock (who never runs instances) and Manbone. After a couple of wipes managed to get 1st boss down, but couldn't manage 2nd boss (priest that spawns an add, combined with fears) Went off to Utgarde Keep to kick some butt with Hyp.
- Ran Halls of Lighting on Shadowthrone - pretty much 1st Northrend dungeon. Blizz reset instances AGAIN during the run - at least the 3rd time this week.
- [For the Horde!] run - Got down the Darnassus and Exodar bosses
- Completed Karazhn

Needed 2 more quests in HFP - neither in BF counted. Digging around revealed two "drop" quests that finished it off. Could also have headed to SMV to start chain for Shattered Halls key, which sends you back to HFP
Asharis dings 65 - time for Alchemy specialization quest

Lore Topics:
Uldum and Bael Modan

Home away from Home. The only decent thing in The Barrens. ;)

Oh, I also got the Brewfest Kodo mount. Hehehe.

Bladed Edge

/cry! We miss you Blade. Please come home soon.

Email #1 from Xesu

Hey there, Aprillian, Ashayo, and Glanthur, Xesu here again. (Yes Ashayo, you were correct, "X-e" produces a "Z" sound, when pronounced properly).
It seems every few shows, someone mentions how they have limited play time. Due to school, I seem to only get in on the weekends. I raid one night a week, that being Friday nights. The rest of the time I do heroics, maybe some arena, or general Guild Riff-raff.
My first piece of advice is: Find people with a similar situation. If you can only raid one night a week, find other people that can only raid one night a week. There is no since being in a guild where you just sit and twiddle your thumbs, hoping an opportunity comes your way. There's also no since sitting in LFG all weekend, trying to PUG a group, that will go nowhere.
Second: Find a guild with great people. I have the luxury of being in AIE, where even if I sit in guild chat, or vent, and just enjoy the people around me, I still feel content at the end of the day.
Third: Find your niche. Maybe you have raided your entire career, because it was what your friends were doing. Try arena, try battlegrounds, try it all! If you are someone who loves to have a "Hardcore" challenge, without a "Hardcore" schedule, definetly give arena a go. All you need is one person, who has generally similar time available to them, and you still get purple pixels.
Well, it seems like I will probably take up 1/2 of the show with this Fortress of Text, but keep up the great work guys, I enjoy tuning in every week.

Email #A from Nevik

Hello Aprillian, Ashayo and Glanthur,

I'm writing in because I'm one of those dreaded rogue mains and I might be able to help Turbos with his DPS issue. I'm not an end-all source on all things rogues, but I can definitely give some advice to point Turbos in the right direction.

When I got home to check his armory, I noticed that he's in a lot of PVP gear. He mentioned that he's obtained a lot of gear through pvp, but this kind of gear is really only good for pvp.

The major stat he's missing that is hurting his DPS is his +hit. In his pvp gear he's sitting at +102 hit and should be aiming for at least +237 if he's hitting mobs with debuffed with Imp FF or Misery, otherwise he needs to get up to +315. Hitting +315 will ensure his poisons do not miss if they proc.

He's also running with a very low expertise, sitting at 13, (10 from talents, and only an additional +3 from gear). Ideally he wants to get this up to 26 to remove boss parries and make life easier on the tank. This isn't as important, but should be kept in mind.

Then there's also the issue of him not having gems socketed into his gear. For where his gear is currently, he should be gemming for +hit first, then +agi and maybe +expertise if he doesn't get more pve oriented gear. He needn't worry too much about matching socket colors, but should pay attention to it if it offers a decent return.

He just needs to make sure he picks up a good meta-gem to toss into his head-piece and make sure he has the right colors to activate the meta. Which leads me to enchants in general. He absolutely needs to immediately grind out Sons of Hodir and the Knight of the Ebon Blade for the shoulder and head enchants respectively.

His weapons are decent welfares from the Argent Tournament and he's rocking the best combat talent build for what he has (although he might entertain replacing the glyph of eviscerate with killing spree), but his weapon enchants need to be changed immediately. With the drop in prices on abyss crystals, he really should be rocking dual beserker enchants on his weapons. Or at the very least beserker/mongoose even though mongoose is still pretty pricey especially after the cost of beserker dropped dramatically.

But when it's all said n' done, a rogue lives and dies by his weapons. Upgrading your weapons will upgrade your DPS more than pretty much any other min/max'ng. While raiding may be out of the question, Coren Direbrew drops an awesome dagger for a mutilate build and an awesome BoE mace for a combat rogue (both are rare drops).

If he can't manage a Naxx pug, his best bet is to hope for the best and slowly upgrade his other slots with gear from heroic Trial of the Champion and emblems from running heroics.

One final piece of advice that ties all of this together is to pay attention to his rotation. It's not overly complicated as a combat rogue, just keep SnD (Slice n' Dice) up 100% and you'll keep your DPS up. (The majority of rogue DPS comes from their white damage) After ensuring SnD uptime he should try to keep rupture up as much as possible and weave in eviscerates when SnD and rupture still have a decent amount of time left in them.

BTW, the default UI is awful for keeping track of these, so I'd suggest an addon such as Rogue Power Bars that can help him keep an eye on his SnD and Rupture uptime. He might also want to practice his rotation on a targetting dummy in Org or wherever to learn how to pull that little bit of extra DPS out of his rotation.

Hope my advice is useful to him, he can venture into the Elitist Jerk's forums if he's patient enough to read through the looooonnnnngggg threads. (He'll often see references to plugging stuff into spreadsheets, but I don't think he needs to min/max to /that/ level, especially since Cataclysm will change everything anyways).

Okay, I've rambled on long enough and I'm sure Ashayo and Glanthur are either fast asleep or are experiencing uncontrollable seizures from this wall of rogue-text. Sorry about that and in ammends, don't include this letter in the drawing. Helping out a fellow rogue is reward enough.

Email #2 from Makling

hello CAW crew

i just listened to your latest episode and i'd like to share some of my experiences with recruit a friend. i've done it three times now, the first was with my sisters husband, the second was with my other sister's fiancee, and the third and the latest one is with someone at work. both of my brother in laws dont play wow anymore, but i did get a zhevra from the first one. i really dont remember if he read all the quest text, but he did get a dk to 73.

aaron, the guy here form work, said he played those free online games. he saw me playing wow one time, so i got him a 10 day free code form recruit a friend. he's still in his 10 day period as of writing, but seems really interested enough to go get the full game. he made a troll hunter, and i made a blood elf priest to lvl with him. im having fun explaining all the stuff in wow, from the chat box to the linking of the items and quests, and locating vendors in the minimap. i hopped on my mage and ported him to the major cities, and he got his first ride on a flight path from TB to org. i can just imagine how it looked like to him, seeing the view from the sky and traveling across the plains and desert of he barrens.

so if this email wins the roll at the end of your show, i;d like a free 1 month of wow for me to give to my co-worker =)

in other news, the new patch went live today! i got into an onyxia 10 man pug, but wasnt able to beat her because my lag kept disconnecting me. apparently a lot of people are having serious lag, but i hope these problems are solved by the time of airing of this show.

my priest dinged 71 just by doing dailies in howling fjord and doing a few quests. i want to get in to 10 man toc raids, but people want the achievements before they let you in their pugs..

i loved the new lore part of your show. but im also interested in what glanthur has been doing in his wow week, so i hope we still get to hear about that.

i want to ask you guys what your experiences are with the STV fishing tourney. ive been trying to get it in the past few weeks, but i always lose to someone when i've only gotten up to 30-35 fish. because with the way things are going, that would have to be the hardest achievement in game as there is only 1 person to get it per week.

well, thats all for now. for the horde!

Email #3 from Tracey

Love listening to the podcast - my wow playing is limited due to spouse aggro but I still get online a bit. I rolled a blood elf pally - one of the only horde toons I have tried. NOTHING would get me to stop playing WOW - except spouse aggro - friends got me started and I love working out my life frustrations with WOW! Thanks for the great job.

Email #B from our wonderful Buddy Kyle

Hello all!

So I came across something interesting again, though I'm sure it's news I probably missed somewhere. While leveling my DK in the pants on head guild on Jubei'Thos I had finally dinged 67 and ventured to Shadowmoon valley for my last level before outlands. I go check with the riding trainer there for some reason unknown to me because I knew I didn't have enough gold and I could've just gone to Thrallmar anyway. Well to my great suprise the riding trainer in Shadowmoon Valley was offering to teach me expert riding (i.e. flying) for only 250gold! Now I swear last I check in Thrallmar it was still 600gold, and the letter in my mailbox from the flight trainer also says it's 600gold. So either I missed something and the amount required for flying is down to 250gold, or the Shadowmoon Valley trainer is lonely for lack of business what with everyone going to Thrallmar and is giving a huge discount.

Shout Outs & Thank You

I know this blog has been pretty much all on wow but I am one that likes to explore as many things, including games, as I can.
In addition to wow I do play Wii games, Xbox, other pc games like Aion, the new mmo that came out from Ncsoft.

So far, well I am just getting to know the game, read up on it and figure out what class I will start leveling.
When I remember back to my first time playing wow, WOW! that is over 4 years ago!?!?! crazy! I went Horde right away because my friend that recommended wow was a Horde Orc Hunter and also I just like the look of the Horde Characters. Than when I was going through the different races and what classes they each had, I was drawn right to the Tauren and warrior!!! So from here it seems it was very easy (I don't think it was that easy and it did take me some time).
And of course naming your character, in wow that has always been a challenge (believe it or not even after you find out all of my character names :))
As I have said before, the naming is very important I think; it is part of your in the virtual world of warcraft!
To some it may not be that important but to me it was and is. So of course after many minutes of thinking I went with Motauren!
Yes I know very creative but well, I am Mo and he is a Tauren!

In Aion, so you are aware, there are 2 races: Elyos and Asmodians (I will not go into detail right now, you may check out aiononline.com to read up if you would like to) and you may look at Elyos as Alliance and Asmodians as Horde, but it is not that simple.

Than, oh before I go on, I do have to say that Aion at first look is very PRETTY! This is one reason many people will try it and this is one reason I am trying it, in addition to checking out another game that may get our gaming curiosity juices flowing. If you are a gamer (which I will talk about this on a different post coming up) I believe you will dive into different games and this does not mean I am quiting wow or a wow hater, NO WAY! Wow is #1 and will be for a long time.
Ok, so after you pick a race (of course after you pick a server of course) you will not be able to create any characters from the other race on that server. Yes same as wow where you could not make Horde on a server where you had made Alliance already.

The classes are: Warrior, Scout, Mage, Priest
Warrior is very similar to Warriors in wow but one big difference in Aion is whatever class you are, everyone starts out the same, no specialization.
When you have gained enough experience (not sure how much or what level yet) you will be able to Ascend to one of 2 specializations for the class you are. I look at these like talent points (as I dont see there are talent points in Aion, not that I have found yet) Warrior can become Templar or Gladiator; Scouts: Assasins and Ranger; Mage: Sorcerer and Spiritmaster; Priest: Chanter and Cleric.
And with experience and leveling come flight; you get wings but just as many other topics I do not have all the details on that.

So with the actual hour or so of play time I have had with Aion, I have to say it is promising and the only issue is dividing time with wow and Aion and everything else.

I will do my best to report more on Aion and I hope other people can do that same.

Thank you very much,

Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 133 - What A Long Strange Trip it's Been

Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a month free of WoW or a $10 iTunes Gift Card or an Authenticator, they are back in the store.

What We've Been Doing:

After grinding Borean Leather on Auruk for several days, I was surprised at how cheap it was on the AH.

Tues servers were up, ruined my plans to do housework. Could not find Eternal fire on ER. Recorded The Addicted

Leveled in Eversong Woods, Tanked Ragefire Chasm as raid leader. I marked and everything.

Spent several days levelling with BF on RAF. Fun & frustrating at the same time. Did some sugar daddying, i.e. bags and stuff, scrolls and enchants

SFK - didn't want to be run through, interesting.

Fishing Totem? Some shaman putting down totems in Dal sewers while Epril & Aprillian did fishing dilies - Auruk doesn't get it anymore

Outlevelling quests like crazy.

Purplevein joined me Hellfire Ramparts.

Can't figure out how to stop ram.

Level 26 warrior doesn't have mount, LOL

Vyv got a 2nd Green Proto Drake mount from Oracles!

Raiding - Ulduar 10 man
Mimiron - one second away from winning, but the head died too soon and all 3 parts respawned. :(
Got him down - [The Keepers of Ulduar] achievement
Got Verax down to about 20%

ToC 25 man - Asheal
Northrend Beasts and Lord Jaraxxus down.
Tried faction champions - like a PvP fight. Failed badly! Went to VoA to kick butt.

Pudendal tanked Old Hillsbrad. Couldn't find Don Carlos.
Tanked Shadow Labs - 5 tries on Murmur before we got him. Tough with DK tank - can't charge back in. Tempeste had to attack with a fishing pole because she de'ed her staff.

Dinged 70 on slabs quest hand ins
Kara key chain - Coilfang, Tempest Key (needed a rogue), Black Morass

- Started with [Strange Brew] (9 brews) , and got [It's Happy Hour Somewhere] ( 25 beverages ) in the process
- Brewfest Diet - all available at the brewfest.
- Down with the Dark Iron - Defense Brewfest against the dark iron dwarves.
- Disturbing the Peace - Dance drunk with 3 Brewfest clothes on in Dalaran. Already had them in teh bank.
- Drunken Stupor - Jump off Scryer tier (just to right of lift)
Coren finished it off - 310% Violet Proto-Drake!
Sigurn won Kodo mount

PoH Karazahn - Amazingly easy despite not having high level toons. Pulled three groups of mobs without wiping. Pulled elite packs outside

Morose without wiping. (We did wipe, but only because I took too close a look at Maiden)

Got the new NCP (Pint-sized Elekk) for 100 tokens without doing any ram racing at all. Doing the initial intro quest , killing Coren and doing the Pink Elekks quest is enough.

Email #A from Kurly

Hey folks...it was great to hear The Toad last week....and again, my thoughts and prayers to Glanther and his fam's. I spent the majority of my WOW time this weekend leveling my Space Goat warrior. Warriors are one of the classes that I have never managed to level above 20, so I am going to give it serious try on her.
Leveling in Alterac Valley is not all its cracked up to be. Kurliemoo is level 64 now, and is still being three or four shot by those wretched archers that can shoot her from 8 miles away. Also the bad thing about leveling in BG's is no gold. The poor cow has had 5 gold pieces for three levels now!
So, me thinks for next few levels I will keep out in Out Lands, and maybe score a some Ramps runs..Ramp run anybody....anyone.....anyway...and then go back to AV at 67 or so.
Peace and hugs and all the love I can give ya!!

Email #1 from Zebestes

Hey Ctrl Alt WoW crew, Zebestes here!
When I heard Glanthur talking about the lore segment during episode 132, I was ecstatic! With all the people that know absolutely nothing about the lore, it'll be educating the masses! It also got me thinking.... I might be able to help Glanthur-if he wants or needs it- because I'm a bit of a lore nerd and I don't have an active subscription at the moment since days only have 24 hours in them... sigh... Anyway, if G-dawg (gosh I hope Ashayo reads this) wants some help, I'm here!

Email #2 from Makling

hey guys, makiling here,

i just wanted to share a tip when doing Dangerously Delicious to avoid being ganked by alliance. if you go to the horde FP in wintergrasp, you will notice a spirit healer on a ledge behind the FP. what you do is you move near the spirit healer to get the spiritual immunity buff and fish from there. you might not reach the water with every swing of your fishing pole, but you can reach it form there and you will definitely be safe form ganking.

i've been leveling my priest, and had recently dinged 68. i've been flying around northrend, and i'm pretty sure i will be dinging form all the flying i've been doing. i cant wait for her to get to 70 so i can get an epic flyer for her as well.

thats all for now, keep up the good work!

Email #3 from Kontiki

Hey CAW crew,

You guys do a fantastic job on the podcast, I only started listening to podcasts a few months ago to alleviate some boredom at work and it’s boiled down to you guys and the BoE crew that I listen to first ;p This email was actually going to be in response to Glanthur’s idea about a lore part of the show but it felt too much like shadey business to write only to him so I thought I’d write you all, seeing as how I’ve been wanting to for a few weeks anyway.

I play a Tauren bear tank slash resto druid on the US Nagrand server and tune in faithfully every week from the sunny east coast of Australia to listen in. In game at the moment I am having a blast on my (atm level 50) troll shammy, healing my way through low level dungeons and kicking ass in BGs as enhance. Recently I completed the Uldum quest chain, which starts at the end of uldaman and sends you back and forth between Tanaris and Thunder Bluff, culminating in a (far too short and abrupt) ending at the gates of Uldum in southern Tanaris. I remember doing this quest the first time on my mage and being in awe the whole time, it remains one of my favourite quest chains in game and I found it doubly interesting in light of the Cataclysm news and Uldum becoming a playable zone, which is one of the things I am most looking forward to.

I think this would be an awesome topic to cover for Glanthur, the lore of Uldum; it’s significance in game at the moment and what role it might play in the future expansion. One thing that intrigued me specifically was that the statue who admits entrance to the gates reveals at some point in the quest text that all the authorization disks to grant entrance are currently given out and no more will be for the time being, I would love to know if there is any more info on who holds these disks or how that might be implemented when the zone opens, I am really hoping it wont be that they simply creak ajar and anyone can just mosey through. Anyway, I was planning on wiki’ing it anyway but if I can mooch off Glanthur’s (brilliant) new idea then I’m all for that ;p

I had to laugh aprillian when you were telling us about David’s escapades in wow, sounded just like me at that level, I was concerned about the most inconsequential things haha, I miss those days of being overwhelmed by everything.

Anyway, I’m at work so I’ll get kicked in the box if they catch me sending illicit emails ;p Keep up the good work guys, Till next time.

PS I found myself getting all defensive when you got that two star review ;p Don’t listen to him, you guys are kick ass.

Email #4 from Xesu

After hearing a priest healer looking for a blog to help him on his healing and DPS, I have found one. Actually, I have one. This is Xesu of Alea Iacta Est, or as Wemb likes to put it: Alea Iacta Oosta boosta essta asta.
www.guardianspiritblog.wordpress.com is my recently made priest blog. Most of the views are from the holy side of things, but, my secondary spec is now Disc, so I can broaden my range of topics. I have gotten a great response from some guildies already, and would love to spread my love of the priest around.
Love the show, keep up the great work!

Email #5 from Zooexhibit

Greetings Cntrl Alt Wow
I would like to say thank you, your podcast helped pull me thru the withdrawls during the week that BOE didn't put out a podcast. I never miss your podcast and would have to say you are my second favorite podcast right behind BOE. I hope you don't mind being in second place.

I think first off I would like to say that person who gave you the 2 star rating, and called Glanthur childish clearly hasn't listened to many of your podcasts. I think perhaps he/she needs to stop dipping into Aprillian's Medication. While all of you rock, Glanthur is the voice of the Alliance and I hope he never converts his Dwarf to the horde. I know I could never change my main to a dirty horde. With that said I do love playing a horde toon in the "Pants on Head" guild, but I can't wait to level another toon so I can kill off my Death Knight. I hate Death Knights! I am currently leveling a Druid, a Paladin, and a Rogue and when one of them reaches 80 I will take great pride in deleting my Death Knight. Do any of you have classes that you just can't stand playing?

I am something of an Altaholic I have 5 level 80's and another 8 toons over level 30, I have never multiboxed and don't think I will start, but if anything tempts me to try it it is your podcast. I have played every class and I would have to say that Druids are my favorite, and Death Knights are my least favorite. What class would each of you say is your favorite class to play?

Finally I would just like to say that Aprillian you need to "come out of the closet"

Email # B from Kurly

'Tis yer faithful bud Kurly here. This may be the second email you get from me this week. Sorry for the over-lap if it is. So I think its time I told you all that the majority of my toons are Alliance. I actually just did a faction change....72 undead lock to a gnome. I do still have my toons on Jelly Bean, but sadly the time difference is finding me out of the loop during most of the POH events. I am, however, not giving up on those toons! I am feeling my Tauren Druid a little more than my DK, though, and I am very ready to roll me some Tauren Pally, and a Goblin Rogue..yay hoo!!!
You also asked what game might tear me away from WOW and that game will be Diablo 3. Diablo was the game that got me into gaming in the first place, and I have been waiting for D3 for ever!! Also, my best wow friends are currently beta testing Aion, and they fully expect me to join them on that game. From everything that I have read up on Aion it seem very similar to WOW, but fear not. Wow is where my heart is, and I cant see anything else tearing my totally away anytime soon.....wait....is that sad? Lord!
Anywho....thoughts and prayers to Glanthur from me, and a great day/night to you all.
Peace and hugs and tassel ended rugs!

Email #C from Bidkar

Greetings Glanthur, Ashayo and Aprillian.

Bidkar, undead mage on the Borean Tundra server here. This week Bidkar actually did some of his unfinished quests in Storm Peaks plus his dailies. I'm beginning to understand why players express some disinterest in dailies. Bidkar finally is exalted with the Kaluak. Heck will freeze over before I do those quests again on this toon. I picked up the epic fishing pole, the penguin pet and the pattern for the 32 slot herb bag.

The paladin leveled from 70 to 73 the hard way. He keeps getting locked into combat and can't mount, bandage, or drink potions. I tried running all the way across the zone to break combat, that did not work either. The only way I can break combat is to hearth. Trust me after doing that a few times, it gets old. Blizzard only gives me the standard "Game is functioning as intended". I will refrain from saying what I think of that response since Ctrl Alt Wow is not Bind on Equip.

I did find an interesting glitch in the game though. I picked up the "They Grow up So Fast" raptor mount quest while I was in Un'Goro Crater, but didn't do anything with it. While I was at Agmar's Hammer in Northrend I did the quest where you go to the village and kill the bugs by the Azol Nerub. When I killed the bug mobs in the village, it counted as the venom blood from the "They Grow up So Fast" quest. I was splashed 20 times for the Un'Goro quest in Northrend. An interesting glitch to be sure.

I was excited about being a pirate for a day too. I was transformed in Booty Bay and it went fine. Then I ported to Dalaran and rode the taxi to Wymrest. After the taxi ride was done, I lost the pirate costume buff. /Spit on all this game bugging.

I appreciate winning last week, but I want you to keep the prize and give it to someone else. There are more people out there who need it more than I do. It was exciting to win, that was enough for me.

For Glanthur and For the Horde!

Bidkar and his many alts

Subject: An Exciting Couple of Weeks

Hey Aprillian, Ahsayo, and Glanthur (in alphabetical order),

I just had to tell you what about the last couple of weeks because they have been a lot of fun.

First off, I have been leveling a Paladin, Aversa, for a few months on Earthen Ring. When the 1st rolled around, I filled out the application and hoped to heard back in a week or so. I got an e-mail later that day. I followed the directions and got in the queue. Eventually, Molly (who I knew of because Secondaid had talked about meeting her) invited me in. Guild Chat is just amazing.

Next, I went 5 whole days without playing WoW. That's right, Aprillian, days, not hours. And why would I put myself through such a thing? Because I went to DragonCon. I got to meet and hang out with Tom (Merritt) and Veronica (Belmont), a whole bunch of other podcasters, and meet a whole lot of AIE members. Including Molly, who had made the trip. So we met twice for the first time in the same week.

Finally, I got home and went back to a Draenei Priest, Sceadua, I have been leveling for my Alliance guild. When I got home that Monday, she was level 36. Last night, she went to Outland and dinged 59. My Secrets: Heirlooms, Hearthing in Dalaran with easy access to the portals, and running BGs as often as I could get in (the XP is awezome - especially Alterac Valley). I am looking forward to Cataclysm but I am happy that I had another chance to see the old world zones before the change.

Your POH Guildie,

Email #7 from Steven (Also sent to the Instance)

Hey Guys what's up,

With all this talk like a pirate stuff going on it made me think. When the Goblins become part of the horde. Will horde player still be able to gain rep with the Bloodsail Buccaneers? And if you flip it will the Alliance become friends with them? Will the Bloodsails setup a port in booty bay for the Alliance to go to now?

Email #8 from Turbos

Hey Everybody!!

Sorry for not emailing in quite some time, but don't worry I haven't missed an episode. I've just had a lot of work lately. Anyways in case you don't remember I was dual boxing my rogue and a druid, well, since then I hit level 80 on my rogue and dropped my druid. I plan on rolling a new troll druid when cataclysm comes out. In the druids stead I went back to leveling up my warlock. Man I missed leveling her!

Just a few random comments since it's been a while.

Aprillian you really sounded great on the addicted podcasts and boe (which I have added to my podcast listening regime). Have you guys ever thought of doing a biweekly podcast? What about a show forum? I know there are a lot of us avid CAW fans!

Grats Ashayo on the new mount!!

Glanthur my heart goes out to you, (even though you're alliance) I have been thinking about you and your father alot. My fiance and I went through a hard family time recently and I know how hard it can be. Also, I can't wait for your new lore segment and if you ever need any help at all with anything lore lemme know. I'm happy to help!

Now for the question:
I know none of you have a rogue main, but I thought maybe you or some of the listeners might have some suggestions. Since I'm a new 80 I've been trying to get geared up a bit, but I'm in a guild with just myself, my fiance and her sister, so I'm not really raiding anything anytime soon. In the meantime I have been doing a lot of argent tournament and pvp and I'm in mostly epics (well maybe welfare epics), but I noticed my dps really isn't where it should be around (1600). If you have any suggestions or ideas I'm Turbos on Drak'tharon in the armory.

Well best be getting back to the housework :cough: brewfest :cough:

Thanks again for the mini I keep it by my monitor and think of you guys everytime I play.
Much Love

P.S. Ever think about rocking the Explicit tag?

@Orkinzi: @CtrlAltWoW wooohooo u mention having a rhino that often for a bm hunter. I tried it out. Omg they r awsome. Loads of damage and keeps Agro.

Hello to our fine hosts and listeners.

As we are hearing and seeing in game the holiday season is kicking off with Brew Fest and even Pirate day yesterday.
But, in someways, I am sad to say I am not really into the holiday stuff, quests this season :(
Perhaps that will change when I start doing some of them and see the few people with their special mounts.

When will the elite over achievers get that mount from all the holiday and achievements they have completed in the last year?

On my priest Moheal, he is almost all purpled out with a min of item level 200 :)
And believe it or not I am starting to open up more to shadow spec. I leveled holy up to level 76 when I went dual spec disc/shadow.
With Shadow spec I am able to take on 5-8 level 80s (non elites of course), dot them with the 2 priest dots and than use my aoe spell to knock one down after another.
It is actually pretty fun :)
And this weekend I was even able to kill elites, level 80 elites!! CRAZY!!!

We are supposed to do Ulduar but 4 hours of raiding!!!
that is the part I do not enjoy; at least I am able to have football on but it gets old for me fast, the waiting around than at the same time when we do succeed, kill a boss or a few, than it is fun and that is what I enjoy and concentrate on.
What do you all do when raiding?
I mean what else do you do?
Yes I am ADD and need to have many things going on, that is just how I have always liked it, so I either have podcasts playing, tv on, etc.
Do you do anything else while raiding?
or even playing wow?

To answers Glanthurs question, I think we should have listeners email in each week and make a comment on what they want to learn about and either you pick one or the topic with the most mentions wins.
If there is a way to put a poll up but perhaps that is too much work to ask for you all to do so the email should work right?

Ok it is wow/football/podcast time :)

I mean for the Horde/Alliance/CtrlAltWow

Thank you as always for your work Ashayo, Aprillian, Glanthur and yes I too like to switch your names around :)

Hello everyone my name is Matt and I'm a rehabilitated WoW aholic.

If you guys haven't noticed, there are tons of new MMOs coming out around the Xmas period.
Aion for one looks amazing. And there are a couple others that look pretty awesome.

I have two questions for you three/two (I never know who will be on)

#1 What upcoming MMOs would you most like to try?
#2 Would you ever considering leaving WoW to play a new MMO? ((Accept for Ap who could just open a new sub. If you can pay for ... 4? accounts then you can play another MMO ;) )

P.S Even though I have left WoW I am making sure I have spare time to listen to what seems to be my number 1 podcast. (Alot of the podcasts now seem to be regurgitating old jokes and not talking about themselves in WoW and more about issues in WoW. You guys are very down to earth and real for listeners. So don't worry while my Templar is soaring the skies of Atreya I will still be listening or at the least thinking of you guys ;)

Email #B from Koi

From Koii again...
Hey guys, I wanted to say thanks for reading my mail on the cast, you guys are great! I was curious... If someone wanted to play with you guys in game, and didnt have the funds to transfer characters or anything what would be the easiest way to just hang out and have fun with you guys. Im sure you never get this XD... But thanks so much for everything and its so cool that I won... I never win anything and when you said my number I was so happy and shocked... You guys are top on my podcast rotation and I look forward to every monday morning with the ctrl alt crew. Thanks for everything, and if it would be possible to recieve the month of WOW to fuel the altoholic addiction that would be wonderful! Thanks again guys.

Email #2 from McWild

hey folks.. Mcwild here again (its better than some of the names i have had over the many years)
you reckon i should have a warlock as isaacs character. ok i can go with that.. but wot race/faction.
i have been lvling some alts this week my rogue to 47 my shaman to 74. as well as this i have been using my hunter to go into wintersgrasp so i can get the heirloom items for my alts and gained enough honour to get my pvp chest leggings and bracers. my main fellhand the druid is like a forgotten cousin at the moment as he is just used for tanking things for our guild. plus i get more fun from playing my hunter. (the rihno is a cool pet)a dwarf one at that. i like the gadgets he has with engineering 450. have been working towards getting the mek chopper but not sure now, its a lot of gold wich i have 3.5k out of 13k needed. wich could be used to kit out most of my alts with shiny blue things.. wot do you reckon is it worth waiting and seeing if expansion makes it cheeper to get.after all i have 100% mount and the turbo copter for flying.
finally got jeaves other day too so i now have my own butler to look after me too.
son number 2 resubscribed this week too after seeing his brother catching up on lvls and that his mother and myself are well on our way to our 3rd lvl 80 (he as only one)
well best stop there otherwise it be a short story and not an email.
all the best Mcwild aka fellhand

Email #C from Kyle

So I finally decide to log onto my 80 and putz around after a month of inactivity (too many alts, not enough time). To my suprise I find the orphan lady in dalaran. And she has a quest for me. Now I thought I had missed the new wolvar/oracle children's week addition. But hey she gave me the whistle and I took my adorable wolvar orphan around and completed the children's week months after I thought I was able to. I'm so glad I did because that wolvar orphan was soooo CUTE!! So either you can still do the dalaran children's week quests if you haven't yet, or I got extremely lucky.
Happiness abound,
P.S. Yes here in Minnesota we say "hide and go seek" instead of "hide and seek" (or at least that's how it was when I was younger). We also play "duck duck grey duck," not this "duck duck goose" thing. And soda is pop.

Email #3 from Maelador

Subject: Hello Ctrl Alt WoW
Hello Aprillian, Ashayo and Glanthur.

Just wanted to send a shout out to you. I play both Alliance: Mage(80), Shaman(80) and Horde: Death Knight(80), Hunter(80). Occasionally, when I want to take a break from the high end task of doing dailies and refreshing my stash of herbs... Umm.. For alchemy, of course. I hop onto two recent additions to my character line up. A level 24 Night Elf Rouge and a level 21 Blood Elf Warlock, just so I can re-live some of the old school questing and leveling. Mainly, just wanted to say what a great job you're doing with the show. It makes my long drives, during work, seem so much shorter and enjoyable. Keep up the good work and thanks for the hundred+ episodes of greatness.
For the Horde AND the Alliance.

Email #D from Deaths Keeper

Hello all Deaths Keeper here I'm sad to say my Undead Lock Voohoodoo will soon be deleted... But he will be reborn from my level 70 human Lock(Thesummonerr) and given the same name. Finally the toon I spent over 26 days of game time playing will be put to good uses for the Horde! I'm writing a back story for him and will post it on the AIE wiki. Its sooo hard to delete a toon that I just leveled to 30 but the new Voohoodoo will be more help in kicking some Lich King butt and since Blizzard is finally getting back to caring about warlocks I'm jumping back in with both feet. A big help I've found to get from 70 to 74 is to run the Isle of Quel'Danas dailies and now that BG's give EXP you can go from 74 to 77 running AV in between quest then go right to the Argent Tournament for 77 to 80. Ohh don't put me in the drawing I got my Authenticator already just keep doing great pod casts. To quote Dills Ctrl Alt WOW "I love you"

Email #4 from Bidkar

Greetings Glanthur, Ashayo and Aprillian,

Bidkar the mage here. Bidkar did dailies of course. He also got an epic necklace. He just needs epic head, legs and one trinket now. Still no polar bear mount.

My friend started playing WOW again back on the pvp server. He got the drake from the Oracles and the polar bear mount the next day. Seems fair since he's been trying forever. Blizzard must have decided to give him some welcome back presents. I got him a figure print of his rogue. It was pretty sharp looking, but I won't get a figure print of my mage because I don't like the way the robes look. Just my opinion, others love the robes.

I started a guild for some of my alts. They are now proud members of "We Eat Bachelor Chow". My tabard is blood red with a pic of teeth. I sure wish Blizzard would let us have more that 10 slots like you guys have said. I don't like having alts on 4 different servers. Very messy. I would like to have all my alts in the same guild. I use the guild bank as an armor storehouse.

I leveled my paladin from 65 to 70. He's in Northrend now, flying away. So much easier to quest with the flying. The Tome of Cold Weather Flying is the best 1000g I ever spent. I leveled my warlock a couple of levels, but she's at the point where the game jumps the appropriate level quests all over the place and after questing on a mage, all that flying on the taxi service gets on my last nerve. All the other alts rested since real life has been rather intrusive this week.

I may have a tip, don't know if this is something everybody already knows, it may not even be true, but I'm just putting it out there. I bought a new computer for WOW because I'm a big geek and any reason for a new computer is a good reason. Anyway, I didn't want to go thru the installation torture session, so I just copied the Warcraft folder over to the new computer. WOW doesn't put any hooks into the registry so I don't have to actually install it. When the new patches came out, they wouldn't install though. I googled and apparently this is a problem some people run into when they just copy the WOW folder over. I didn't really care and just copied the patch files over from the old WOW computer and thought "good enough".

A few weeks later, I wanted to play on the PTR realm. After I had installed the program Blizzard put out for the PTR, my WOW on the new computer started to automatically update again. I don't know if this was just a coincidence or if the PTR program installation had anything to do with it.

I had another story, but this email is going on way too long! Have a great week!

For the Horde and for Glanthur!

Bidkar and his many alts

P.S. Don't read this on air, but I think you guys should give Glanthur the murloc. I think it would bring some cheer to his life. I know what it's like to have a parent who is not feeling well and the stress that it brings. A murky would bring a smile to Glanthur's face and I think everybody wins then. If you need donations to substitute for the murloc, I would be glad to donate.

Email #5 from

Dear Ctrl Alt WoW Crew,

First things first, thanks for putting together a great podcast. Along with Bind on Equip, yours is one I listen to on Monday mornings to get me through the day at work. While I don’t consider myself a true altaholic, I do have 10 full character slots on the Shadow Council server. Granted, one is a twinked Hunter for WSG, another is a name holder for when the Worgens are available in Cataclysm (I plan to change my main to a Worgen Druid) and a 3rd is a bank alt, the other 7 are characters I play all the time, including 3 level 80s (Paladin tank, Priest healer and Hunter) on the Alliance side.

I’m also an East Coast guy and am local to Aprillian and Glanthur (I live in Massachusetts). As I stated above, I play on the Shadow Council server which is 2 hours behind my local time, and if it weren’t for all the friends I’ve made on that server, there are certainly times I wish I was on an East Coast server for raiding. Wondered what your thoughts were on this subject because I rarely hear anyone discussing it. Sometimes trying to schedule a raid that is amenable to everyone in the guild is tough.

To keep it short, I’m hoping I win one of the next round of prizes. I’m jonesing for a 30 day game card so I can try an experiment. My younger brother quit WoW before Wrath was released and I keep telling him he doesn’t know what he’s missing, but he is strange in that he hated soloing in WoW more than anything and that is what drove him from the game even though he enjoyed it. I think the highest he got a character was to around level 40. I love soloing and want to tempt him back into the game by reactivating his account for 30 days, powerleveling a character to 80 (I just finished 71 – 80 on my Hunter in 6 nights of play, roughly 18 hours, 90% in Alterac Valley) and then turning the account back over to him. Once he has a character that is 80, he can group for dungeons and raids and not have to solo if he doesn’t want to. Even if the temptation doesn’t work, he’d have a character ready for Cataclysm when it is released. He seemed intrigued by the news that Azeroth will be changed.

Fingers crossed and keep up the great work on Ctrl Alt WoW!

Shout Outs & Thank You

Hello all,
Hope everyone is well and I am still catching up to my podcast listening after being away for almost 2 weeks.

Hope Aprillian, Ashayo and Glanthur you all are well and your families too.

I do have to tell you all something...come a little closer.....closer.....TO CLOSE!!!

And it has been fun!
I am still an altaholic don't worry but on my priest Moheal that I transferred to Feathermoon to join a friends/coworkers guild I have been running Heroics as often as I can and have been to pretty much all the raids for the first time ever!!!
No it is not all lolypops and sugar, or whatever saying you would like to use.
We have failed on several of the attempts but I am ok with that as everyone needs practice.

As for my priest, I would like to only heal but I have had to dps as well at times (I hate shadow spec!)
So I have actually tried and read up on some other blogs/sites that will hopefully improve my heals/dps.

Any pointers you have?

I am discipline and shadow. I think I have ok gear and I do ok healing. I hate when I lose a patient, I mean a group member or miss a heal by just .0001 seconds :(
My spellpower is about 2100 without all the group buffs. I know I still have work to do to be superdupermohealer!

And of course one bad thing is that I have not had a chance to work on any alts or even play my main characters on Balanzzar :(
Yes sad sad.
I have been playing Xbox, that is another reason for lack of attention to my alts.

I have to say your guest last week was great, Hypnatoad (sorry for the misspelling) and I checked out the Addicted podcast, they are good, thank you for the recommendation.

Well, it is time to leave you all be and thank you for your great work and hope you continue to get more listeners and emailers.

Have fun all and enjoy your gaming.

Hey thanks I got it :)

Email #A from Kurly

Hello folks! Kurly here. I have to admit...I tried as hard as I could to listen to the broken episode, but it started to make my dizzy so I had to shut it off.....I didn't get the corrected file until after you had already posted the episode with Wemb,(best wishes to Glanthur and his Pop) so, I may not get to it.
This last week has been all about the podcasts that I listen to(about 7 in all) talking about all of the upcoming changes with Cataclysm and their views and QQ's. I for one and psyched!! My home server, Norgannon, is full so that means toons on new servers!! I think I am going to go with PVP servers as I am find that to be really fun. All of my Horde toon will be on Jelly Beans (the POH server) and I am very much looking forward to a Holly Cow (Tauren Pally) and an Undead Hunter!
The simplification of abilities is very exciting for me as well. I can spend way too much time thinking about the various stats and Item has and what they will do or not do for me, and that kind of sucks the fun out of my WOW.
I am all go for both Goblins and Worgen, but are bummed that that isn't a new class to play. I finally made it through the Wrathgate Chain and had a great time with that fight in the Undercity!! (How can I get that +12000 heals every second buff all the time??)
Anyway.....you are all awesome!!
Best and hugs

Hello Aprillian, Ashayo and Glanthur.
I play ally shaman(80),paladin(80),warrior(80),druid(80),warlock(80),priest(74),mage(72), Deathknight (72) Hunter(72) on Argent Dawn-EU,Nagrand-EU and Vashj-EU.
I've sidestepped once and played a undead rogue(70) before litchking was released.
I've been raiding in vanilla, tbc and litch king but right now im gaming more casual, started a few lowlevel chars: rogue, paladin, warlock leveling with my wife (yes i lured her into the game, and now she is hooked)
I love youre show, it's the highlight of my work week, i have the possiblity to listen to it while im working.
I heard about the Murloc marine :), i would really love to add it to my collection of pets, it looks so awesome.
So dont you agree with me that it could fit perfectly in my collection :P
Many thanks for a superb show
Kind Regards,

Hey podcasters,

Maztar from Jubi here. Another great week in wow(authenticator). I just wanted to drop you a line about the Blizzcon give away. (authenticator) Glanthur needs a pet. He seems do need another one to take care of. (authenticator) Me on the other hand I'm not sure what I would like from your gift bag(authenticator) Any who, I have been on my main Symptomatic on Shadowsong running heroics since the patch. Yes, I'm one of those who is benefitting from the Welfare epics. I know its a bad idea for Hardcore people but with family, work and sports, I don't have time to be Hardcore, unless its diapers and feeding my daughter. The main reason this noob likes the welfare epics is if I have a couple hours open and can raid I will have the gear to do so. I'm sure there will be some laughing from the Hardcore people for this but some times life does come before a game, but hey I love what is going on with the game and will continue to do so. (authenticator) Well hopefully I will log over to see you guys on Jubi at some point. Sorry for the wall of text. Keep on rocking the podcast world. Maztar PoH Rock on Horde. ok glanthur....yeaaaaaaa Alliance.

Email #3 from Flinger

Hi ctrlaltwow crew,
I would like to see a contest that people create a backstory for Grunty. There could be a drawing from all entries or you could pick the one you like best. But I think it might be interesting to hear what people come up with.
Thanks and I love your show.
Flinger, 80 Troll Hunter on Sentinels

Email #4 from Koi

Hey guys! First off I would like to say I love the show and it makes my Monday workdays more enjoyable. Secondly I listened to last weeks podcast and you said send an email to the show about what you should do about grunty.... Well I had a brilliant idea but then April said she was getting one in a few weeks... However my "revised" idea is to maybe use it as bait like the epic flying to hit lvl 80.... Hehe just an idea. Also I wanted tell you guys I was leveling my mage alt and I was trying to find an interesting way to do it because questing was getting sooo boring for me. Well i level from 73-80 in two and a half days doing AV premades, and with all the honor I got I bought lvl 80 pvp gear and epic gems to resell. This was super fun for me and the only negative side to is is that my PVE gear is lacking because of it... Looks like I will be heading to TOC... For the Horde!!

Email #B from Inacan

Hey Podcast rockstarz,

I once won an authenticator from your show and Blizz was out of stock for quite some time.

Glanthur, out of the kindness of his heart shipped me his personal authenticator to me to keep all my friends on Wow from being hacked, stripped of everything they own and forced to work in BRD breaking rocks. They could have had to spent their days being made to farm low level instances for BOE blues to be sold in the AH continuing the vicious cycle of gold selling that plagues our game. Glathur possibly saved them and enabled them to live out glorious, heroic lives killing the evil mobs that lurk in the deepest dungeons of Azeroth.

This, in my humble opinion makes Glanthur a HERO! No hero should have have to walk the lonely paths of Azeroth all alone. A hero's life can be one of solitude and hero's are rarely thanked for their selflessness and sacrifice. I feel that giving Glanthur the code for the pet that was given out to secondaide at Blizzcon this year would help lighten our Hero Glanthur's burden. As a long time listener I think I can speak for most other listeners when I say....We are not as worthy of such a special pet as Glanthur is. His good deeds and good name are cheered in song and story telling not only among the Alliance, but the Horde as well.

Thank you in advance for giving this pet to our celebrated hero.

aka - Ginsue
aka - Doncowleone - Pants On Head druid healer.

Was that over the top?....Sometimes I can't tell. Good luck.

Email #C from Kyle

So some fun ideas on how to give away the blizzcon pet:
1) Give to Glanthur, but that's not as much fun for me.
2) Give to me, but that's not as much fun for everyone else.
3) Hold a contest to see who can level a priest from 1 - 80 the fastest on a PvP server with no RAF. Bonus free month of gametime for leveling entirely in holy and no duel-spec and being the first to get to 80.
4) Hold an auction for charity.
5) Place bets on when Aprillian will ding 80, though keep bets a secret from Aprillian lest she decide to "win" on the day she bet on.
6) Give to the first person to achieve the Insane achievement on a character created within the past couple months.
7) Super Hide & Go Seek, first person to find you wins, able to hide anywhere possible in game.
8) Super Hide & Go Seek part 2, real life edition.
I'm sure I can think up of more fun ideas, but I think the more serious ones would be # 4, and maybe 3 and 7.
Also, Ashayo said a naughty word at 1:06:53. Poor Glanthur's little dwarf ears! Hehe lol.

Seeing As you mention boe cast alot I have started to listen to those as well both u and them are great.

I like my lvl 80s but get more fun from lvling little characters. I even have a palladin named after our first grandson. Who is now lvl61. How about making it a competion even.

Look forward to next show and will watch the road instead of getting excited about hearing name.

Lots of Grtz to apprillian for lvling

Hello ctrl alt wow!
Bloodhuf again. I'll take a wow month please.Update on my Druid, he's level 62 now with herbalism and inscription. I had a few days off from work and leveled like crazy. I wanted to thank ashayo for answering my questions. I'm leveling him as feral and it is awesome. I do everything so quickly and with ease. I might start picking up resto pieces while in northrend to make the switch easier at 80. Thanks guys, Bloodhuf

Email #6 from Starcaller

Hey guys,
Just a quick update from your resident hardcore raider. It's been a busy couple of weeks with the new Coliseum raid content. We made a push in both our 10 and 25-man groups to do as much as we could in Ulduar before the Trial of the Crusader Hardmodes became a factor. In 2 weeks we were able to successfully obtain the Rusted Proto Drake for about 15 of our guildies by completing the Glory of the Ulduar Raider achievement. We also got about 6 folks the key to unlock Algalon on 10-man. On that note, I am happy to say that I can now be properly addressed as Starcaller Facefirst (faceFIRST, not faceFIST April :). That's right...Algalon 10-man has been defeated! What an intense, stressful, rewarding encounter! Even if I disconnected as loot was being rolled on, then also missed the cool RP thing that goes on in Dalaran when you turn in Reply Code Alpha.
On the 25-man front, we downed two more Hardmodes (Iron Council and General Vezax), which puts us at 6/9, and are now working on Freya. The new ilvl 245 gear from ToC sure helps with that. In the in-between time, we are working on the Conqueror of Ulduar title (which is the Immortal achievement of Ulduar), and only have a couple of the easier bosses left on that. We also cleared the 25-man Trial of the Crusader on the first night that Anub'arak was unlocked, and are currently making some attempts on the Hardmodes there.
That same night, after raid, we took a group into the 10-man Hardmode instance and cleared all the way to Anub'arak with 43 of 50 attempts still available, getting 3 more achievements along the way (I am now at about 6700 achievement points). Hopefully soon after I send this we will go in and finsh that off quickly, getting two of the Tribute achievements along with it.
All in all, I am not terribly impressed with the 10 man Hardmodes in comparison to Ulduar (even with current gear we wipe more in Ulduar than ToC), although the 25-man ones seem to be pretty challenging without being impossibly overtuned.
Anyway, I was wondering if Asheyo and Glanthur have stepped into the new raid, and if so, what you think of it. Also, have you thought of any incentive, like the epic flying reward, that would convince Aprillian to reach 80 instead of rotting at 77? I can't help gripping the steering wheel harder as I drive around and hear her listing her toons levels out, and they are always in the low 70s. Level 80 isn't all only raiding! Anyway, I won't waste too much energy on that.
Keep up the good work, and I hope you enjoy the new content (raiding and non-raiding).
Your friend,

Email #7 from Bidkar

Hi Ashayo, Glathur and Aprillian,

Bidkar, level 80 undead mage here. This week the mage just did dailies again. I'm still hoping for the polar bear mount from the Hyldnir daily quest.

I leveled my pally from 60 to 65. He's hanging out in the Terokar forest right now and I plan to move on to Nagrand once I finish there. After Nagrand, I should be able to go to Northrend, woot! My priest is languishing in an inn for awhile building up some rested xp. I leveled my warlock from 20 to 26. My druid merely checked the mail. I want to get the pally to Northrend, so the druid will need to wait. My hunter, Yancy, did some quests then went back for more rested xp building.

This week was a bit bittersweet. The sweet was "The Guild" started up again. I love their show and look forward to every episode. The bitter was the "How I WOW" podcast ended. I learned about this very funny lady April who triple boxed from this podcast, thus leading me to Ctr Alt Wow. I wish Patrick all the best at his new job at Blizzard.

I am sorry that my emails seem a little incoherent at times. Last week's made me cringe. My excuse is that I work about 70-80 hours a week and I write the email at the end of the week, so I am a bit tired and loopy at the time.

Thank-you Glanthur for answering my question last week too. I appreciate it very much.

For the Horde and for Glanthur!

Bidkar and his many alts

P.S. I am planning on dual boxing this week too. You guys make it sound like so much fun I want to try it for a month.

Hola leaders of the free-altaholics!
Syn here to drop some lines and talk of things happening during my week. I have made some changes on my accounts as of late. I have pulled Synrgy out of and moved to the Gnomeregan server to join some high school friends that is didn't know played the game. Not to fear though, my super sexy DK Synrox is still there to wreck some faces. Shout out to .
During the last week, I have been helping some friends work on their toons. Not just running instances, but working on their abilites and rotations in a raid or instance environment. I think a lot of people in the game do not get much help playing their toons once the reach the level cap. Killing mobs for quests to level and raid trash mobs in Ulduar are a completely different beasts. Helping someone refine their rotation and helping them understand there roles and abilities before going into a pug and getting called a noob is something I pride myself in doing. We completed a lot of heroics and did them quite easily without grabbing all the mobs with an AOE tank and well AOEing them down. Yes we actually did crowd control!
I would love to join you all and talk healing anytime you would like. Having healed everything in the game from Ragefire Chasm to Trials of the Grand Crusader, I think that am qualified to speak on behaif of all of those sexy resto shaman out there. You all rock and I will talk to you soon.
