Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 283 - Retro Raiding

Aprillian, Ashayo, Tedrah and Jeppy discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a WoW Pet or an Authenticator.

Juuno’s Corner

Hello Darlings!!  Aprillian, Ashayo, Tedra and ELLLLLL JEPPY!!!  And my fellow listeners!  Hello!  So...I....ummm.....well, I was..very "busy" this weekend...and...I MAY have, possibly, got..incredibly distracted...and...forgot to do an audio...  (someone please insert a Guild Wars 2 sneeze for me here, will ya?  heheheheheehe  )  No, it wasn't JUST that, but also I was working on getting the latest episode of Juuno's Corner out and some other stuff.  (I know, I'm a terrible person...I'm sorry!!)

BUT, Pixiegirl sent me something to share, so here it is!:

Hiya Aprillian, Ashayo, Tedra, Jeppy and of course all of our awesome guildies!  I hope everyone had awesome adventures in life as well as on the game

Not much happened this week it's been a little quiet & a little boring, but that's okay, can't always always live on the edge right?

Pixiegirl is maxed, now the only 85 left to finish is Mourtisha... fishing, yuck!!!
The nice thing is she only has maybe 20 points to go and she'll be done, hoping to get Phenelope done too before Mop comes out. Having a hard time with cooking for some reason guess I'll have to spend a little time farming, which I don't want to do cause that takes away from questing   That was my week in wow, Pixiegirl got all of the attention not sure she liked it though lol And I did find another daily in Uldum, Bombs Away, so in a couple of days she'll have her camel Woot!

I log onto the beta take my copy of Pixie out, try to figure out the new spells and setup, this is going to take some getting use too. Doesn't seem like much has changed with the hunter or mage, but the lock is really different! Wondering if it's just me... am I so spoiled after all this time playing her that maybe I just don't want a new setup?

I bought Junno the Mists of Pandaria Collector's Edition for her birthday, I know how much she loves doing the starting zones lol And what she has suggested is that she will do nothing but dungeons... hahahahaha! Only that would mean she would have to play once in a while, we'll see. But that would be fun... something I don't do much of so if it gets her to play so be it

And off the game news this week, well I got a call from my husband's brother.......and he told me he is planning on coming up next month. This will be an extended visit........a whole month! Don't know how many of you listened too the Life in Maine podcast that Junno & I did (back in November) but this is the same brother in-law I wanted to push from my pickup!! He came out to Nevada to help us move up here, okay I know that sounds like he was being nice right? But the move was suppose to have been an easy going trip, you know stop when we wanted (after all I hate driving all day & night anymore.) Instead he was in a hurry, and I made the wrong move by letting him in the lead (driving) with my pickup, and my son was driving a U-haul that was towing a car. My brother in-law kept running off and leaving him behind, so I fixed that by putting my son in front. Then my brother in-law got upset with me when I wanted to stop for the night, but... hey we were tired, and let me tell you driving a U-haul that doesn't want to climb steep grades wears you out. After 2,500 miles when we finely got to his town all I wanted to do was open his door and push him out! So I'm not really too happy about a months stay... thought maybe the boy's could take him out on the lake, you know fishing in the canoe! But he is my husband's brother and out of love and respect for my husband, I'll behave (well at least as much as possible

I hope everyone is kicking butt on the game and in real life

Best wishes
Pixiegirl

P.S. Shout out to Mrs Necrobob... Happy belated birthday!
And Tedra, I hope you're feeling better, and you do a awesome job with your "one job"... the chat room is a very important job!

And SO...Pixiegirl is buying me the Mists of Pandaria for my birthday (Yay! Thanks Mom!!!) and, like she said, we were discussing what we will do when it comes out.  I think we're going to start pandas on Earthen Ring with the Clan of Darkness, of course, and get them through the starting area at least, I'm dying to see all the gorgeous scenery.  After that, however, we'll probably ditch the pandas (no offense, panda lovers!) and go back to leveling up our worgen.  Our plan is to level them alllll the way up to 90.  I want to tank, and Pixie will probably make another warlock, that way she can get used to all of the warlock changes coming in the easy way, from the beginning.  We're both super excited!!  We may even do some live-streaming so...get ready..hehee...it's gonna be awesome!  Woohoo!!!

I am SO sorry I didn't get my audio done this weekend!
I really do love you guys and gals!!!
Big hugs and kisses *muah*!
For the Alliance, for the Horde, and for wicked, naughty, distracted contributors...

Juuno of  Earthen Ring, GW2 and Rift!

p.s. Is it bad to be a game-aholic?  Like an alt-aholic, only with games?  /sigh

p.p.s. Curly, it was awesome hearing your voice last week!

p.p.p.s. I'm having sinus surgery on Wednesday...I don't think that it'll impede my ability to get my audio done for #284 though... /crossing fingers!  Love ya!!

What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Decided to use the Vial of Sands on Deepril. Astara sent it to her only to find that she needs to be 80 to use, she’s 73. Power leveled her to 75 in VH, thanks Lokwyn for looting. Once she reached 75, we went to Halls of Stone. I had a hard time finding the entrance. Then Deepril ran out of rested xp. And that made me sad!

Hi CAW Crew,

Tarngarth here, Moonkin ordinaire, filling in for Aussieblossom. He mentioned something about his name being 'too long', and 'hard to say'.

Hopefully, Tarngarth is easier for you to pronounce. If not, feel free to shorten it to Tarn, or if that's too hard, just T. Not 'The T' I stress to add. There's a world of trouble from a certain gnome paladin if I go around calling myself that!

So, what have I been up to? Well, thanks again to Leeta, and Brudawg, I went into the Ice Cream Citadel on Friday and grabbed a whole host of achievements. I'm really enjoying the retro raid nights. Hanging out with awesome people, and clearing content. Missed out on the Twilight Drake in OS3D, but I was really pleased it went to Brudawg, for the efforts he puts in taking is through some of this older content. That drake will be mine. One day.

I've been leveling alts during the week. Totemtarn has healed his first Cata instances. Boy is it a real step up from healing in Northrend. It's no longer a case of casting Earthen Shield and then reading my Twitter feed. People actually get hurt and need healing! What's the go with that?

Guild Wars 2 dropped over the week-end, and true to form, I already have four characters. I'll be back in Azeroth on Wednesday to check out all the changes, and re-learn how to play.

Finally, I checked out the Remote Auction House today. How awesome is that! Cleared out a heap of mats from the banks of numerous characters. It all goes towards my Vial fund.

Slash moo,

Tarngarth

Hey intrepid CaW crew, Apprillian, Ashayo, El Jeppy and Tedra. All is well with the Nekro's. Its been a very slow week for us in game not much to report. Just a new Blood Elf hunter named Shadowhawk. Work in the props shop has been very busy and Mrs. Nekro has been under the weather so she and I have hardly played at all. Hopefully we'll have more to report next week. In lieu of a wow report please accept this pictorial real life work report  :-)

Thanks for your splendiferous podcast love you all,

the Nekrobobs
Here's some pictures of whats been keeping us busy for the last few weeks. I had to build a set of  faux marble pedestals
to match the marble decor in the Paradise Garden at the Sands Cotai Central Hotel and Casino.

We start by cutting semi circular plywood shapes that match the curve of the garden ornamentation

Not much to say this week so here’s my audio oh and I forgot to thank Leeta for her help and info on the recruit a friend front.

RogueSlayer1(audio)
Greetings to all at Ctrl-Alt-WoW!

I've been having a splendid time in and out of game this week, as I've been on staycation.  While I did spend quite a bit of time in game, I also got a lot done in the yard - including acquiring an impressive poison ivy rash.  I knew I should have leveled Herbalism.  Are there any alchemists in the chat room who could whip up a potion for me?

I've attached an audio submission from a special guest who would like to join the guild.  Voltandra may have thoughts on this, however.

Have a great week everyone, and continual thanks for a fantabulous podcast!

Hey gang! I can't talk right now! Got 32 levels to do in 32 days to get to 85 before MOP hits! If you've seen me play you'd understand! See you in game!
Donnie (Dizinee)

Hi guys, I want to start off by saying how much I love and enjoy your podcast. I started playing WOW about 5 weeks ago after I grew tired of playing runes of magic the last 3 years.
So far I am completely in love with WOW it’s a great game.
In the last 5 weeks iv managed to get a Pali to 46 as well as trying out different toons to see what I would like to be my main. Im currently only playing on Silvermoon but intend to switch to earthen ring so I can join your guild clan of darkness “if youll have me.”  Ive been listening to your podcast since day one I came onto wow and have recently been listening to the archived shows. After 5 weeks you guys almost seem like family to me. I have started a new toon on earthen ring named Kithrong If you guys will have me I would love to join.

Thanks Kithrong

Say no (Submission #1)
Hello there ctrl alt wow and fellow listeners,  this is Say no from Runetotem-US.  I myself am a casually serious player which enjoys raiding with my guild and getting every achievement I possibly can, including guild ones.

I would like for you all to know how much I enjoy your show and why.  When raiding I'm a very serious player and want to experience all of the content.  I find your show to be the eye within my hurricane, in which I can enter and let down my guard before returning to the grind.  You help remind me of the casual fun side of wow that allot of times goes over looked in the raiding community.  Your view on the game provides me with new ideas of things to do for present and future gaming in WOW.

Thank you, laters

P.S. I've considered maybe starting my own podcast(that airs on stitcher) or applying to cohost on an existing show.  Any tips to get started?

FOR THE HORDE

MO mo momoments!

Hello everyone,
hope everyone is doing well and you remember me!
You would not forget Mo would you?!
Well I hope not.
I am sorry for not emailing in for so long, I cant even remember when I last emailed in.  I have been busy with life, life changes and of course work; work is always getting in the way of wow for me. I am also moving this week which makes things even more hectic.
I was able to log into wow for the first time in a month or so, nothing too exciting just some usual dailies on my first character motauren.  I did see some old old guildies that I used to play with over 3 years ago online which was nice to chat with them.  Wow does connect people still in my opinion in many ways.
I will not take too much of your time this week as I dont have much to write about but I do want to play more especially with the patch and expansion coming so soon.
Thank you for your great work as always and miss chatting with everyone in game and hope to be on so we can do some of our wow shinanigans.

Take care everyone,

For the pandaexpress!

Hi there,

I just started listening to WoW podcasts and am all caught up on The Instance, so I wanted to find a couple/few others.  I came across your page, but I can't find where I actually click to hear the podcast.  Do I have to have iTunes?  I'm an Android guy because I can't stand iTunes, so is there an MP3 of your broadcasts I can just download and play offline?

Many thanks,

Mike
Hi Mike!
Thanks for writing. I usually wait to reply to emails on the show but I did want to give the feed link:

THIS IS NOT A TWITTER SPAM!!! DON'T MISS ME PLEASE!!!

G'day CAW crew,

I apologise for being so lazy the last couple of weeks and not sending in emails, but you know.... I had that thing, where stuff happens, and what's their name was there???? you know that thing!!!.... ok there wasn't a thing I was just lazy.

My week/weeks in wow.

Lately I've been practising my wizarding ways, and leveling my mage. She started out at lvl 60, and as I'm writing this email, she is 52.4% of the way through lvl 82. I have been pretty much staying in the queue and questing in between. Also I've been having ADD about which spec I should be using... so I've been using them all. Doing some leveling in frost, which I have found really effective. Especially if you get a frost fingers proc (the one that treats the enemy as frozen so your ice lance does a heap more damage). I would be getting a crit with frostbolt, then the frost fingers would proc and then my ice lance would crit and the mob would be dead within 2 seconds of starting combat. Pretty nice. Also the fact that you can use your pets ranged frost nova to get a guarenteed 2 frost finger procs. Ahh... Frost... the ultimate solo questing build.

But then I got impatient and then went fire.... and there is one rule that is absolute.... *in a deep voice* EVERYTHING BURNS!!!!!! And when you stack crit gear, you can get rolling ignites (a dot that is applied on a fire spell critical). There was one fight that I managed to break 25k single target dps... at level 74. I must have had the best rolls in the world. I'm looking forward to the Well of Eternity instance where you get a buff that increases your crit chance by 100%. <insert evil grin here>. I'm really really looking forward to seeing those numbers!!!!

And lastly I went Arcane, after I bought a whole lot of cata greens at lvl 78, and I was able to spam the one button... and get over 20k dps on boss fights and never run out of mana. Good times good times.

So yeah... that's my mage... what else have I been doing you ask? I ask myself that all the time.... cause my memory is terrible... I really should make notes but that requires effort... and as you heard from the start of my email... I'm lazy =P

THAT's right... I went on the ICC run with my hunter and we blitzed our way all the way to the lich king... and we didn't have the heals... cause the only healer was duel boxing.... Ashayo... I mean really... why can't you keep everyone alive? and decurse everyone? and do really awesome dps? and and and .... ok I can't think of anything else you need to do... but that's only 3 things... easy right? Since Ashayo wasn't quite up to outgearing mechanics, I decided to "help" out with my resto druid... I say "help" cause I think I died really early in the piece and had to get combat rezzed. but then I managed to stay alive through the rest of it and throw little heals over the raid and then we all died! The voice of reason, aka Brew Dawg, said don't release. So I didn't, and then an achievement popped up. We cleared ICC.

Well you just started broadcasting... so I should actually submit this...

FOR THE MAGE PWNING!!!!

Tinokk!

Update from Tiber

Greetings CAW Crew - Aprillian, Tedrah, El-Jeppy, and Ashayo
This is Tiber-Clan of Darkness, (Tiebur on U-stream)
As I promised last week, here is an update of my adventures in Azeroth.

After I was admitted into Clan of Darkness last fall, I was inspired to try a rolling Recruit-a-Friend with my two permenant accounts, and two temporary accounts.  While I was doing that, Brewfest started, then along came Hallows End, and then, the new Darkmoon Faire launched.  I was like the proverbial cat, in a room full of rocking chairs.  My RAF result fell far short of El-Jeppy standards, but that's okay, I had fun, and I decided that spreadsheets are for work,  not for play.

I was probably the only WOW player that was sorry to see the old Darkmoone Faire go away.  Playing not only many Alts, but also on many servers, the Faire was key to my casual method of financing my scattered operations.  The Faire vendors sold Herbs, and Gems at far below AH prices.  I generally only bought items that I could mark up at least a 100%, and gradually sold them through the rest of the month.  By the time the new Faire began, I mostly had the vendors to myself, but before the start of Wrath there was fierce competition, with some players (or bots maybe) seeming to camp the vendors 24-7, and world PVP breaking out frequently.  One of my favorite adventures was stealthing my low level rogues over to the opposing faction's Faire on PVP servers, and seeing how much of the goods I could make off with.  That's a real good way to learn the limits of stealth in game.

I was pretty apprehensive when the changes to the Faire were announced.  I though my gravy train was gone, until I cast into a shipwreck debris while doing the Darkmoon fishing quest.  Now I'm not only auctioning the contents of the sealed crates from fishing, I'm also gaining levels, and leveling professions.  So change is good after all!  I still miss stealing the other factions loot though...

I got to participate in the AIE Rememberence Event that Ashayo described two episodes ago, for the first time this year.  It was a really unique, and solemn in game gathering, and a reminder that all these outlandish creatures we see around us when we play represent real people, with real lives, and real cares.

I wasn't able to attend the Attack on the Alliance that Ashayo described, but I like to think I helped pave the way.

On 3 August something more than fifty of us rolled blond blood-elf paladin guys, joined the Beefcake Bronie guild, and wearing nothing but our pink guild tabards, launched an assault on the Alliance.  After forming up with our crack level 85 escort team we made our way from the starting zone to Garrosh's throne room, where he told us "You will serve the Horde or be crushed beneath it!"  Suitably motivated we ran accross the barrens, until we encountered surprisingly strong opposition at Northwatch hold, and were wiped out, along with our escorts.  Rezzing beyond Northwatch  our guardians hacked a pathway through Theremore so the herd of level 2's could run to the ship to Menethil Harbor.  After landing, our pink stamped thundered across the Wetlands, through Dun Morogh, and into Ironforge.  Many deaths later we all had tickets on the Deeprun Tram, destination Stormwind!  I'm sure Garrosh Hellscream was proud of our blond, pink clad assult team as we charged out of the Tram, and into Stormwind.  I think our final moments were a lot like the final scene of "Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid", only a lot pinker.

I'll give my narrator a break now, and wrap this up.  I'd just like to say that nothing puzzles me more than the people who moan "I'm so bored" in trade chat.  There are so many fun things to do in WOW, that I don't think I'll ever have time to do them all, and Pet Battles haven't even come out yet!

For the people who still find fun in the World of Warcraft,
Tiber

Southward bound

Hi CAW crew and or guest host lets see well this week I saw the new MOP trailer and it was awesome kung fu panda here I come as I write this I am less than 24 hours away from heading back to Esperance and my PC I have missed it I wonder if it misses it's daddy. Went to Perth got the all clear on the cancer check talked to a specialist and he told me he has no idea whats wrong with me so 4 months of blood tests then back to Perth to see if that sheds any light on my medical issues. I got some new drugs to take and they are not the type you swallow I have found when you take off the wrapper they hurt a lot less. Guild wars 2 is out next week so I will be giving that a look thinking of playing a big kitty rouge got informed by a truckie that rugby league and rugby union are two different sports and grid iron is not rugby in body armor he also informed me that if I wasn't so big he would have hurt me. Because of the drugs before the op I had to let my mother drive me around and that was truly frightening to make it up mummy brought me a knife for Christmas it's so pretty. Had to stay with my grandmother while we were in Perth she made it quite clear from the moment I walked in that she was not pleased with the hair choice and mocked and insulted me the whole 2 days I was their but thanks to you guys her insults failed to land a killing blow. Also saw Abe Lincoln vampire hunter it was quite good mainly the lack of sparkle on the vamps helped a lot well that and the great axe work.

For the Horde

For the Alliance

For the Sandgrophers

and for the West coast Pirates arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggg

Rigarmorty Update for Episode

Hi Aprillian, Ashayo Eljeppy and Tedra!

Sorry for the lack of audio lately but with my morning recording times not available at the moment and working at the warehouse all last week I've had literally no time to do any recording, not even to put one of my own shows out this past week!

In Wow stuff, I pre-ordered my copy of the regular version from the local video store who only require a tiny initial payment and you are guaranteed to get it on the day and the cheapest they've offered it including before and on that day. I've not had a great deal of playing time either. I got hooked on playing some Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory http://www.splashdamage.com/wolfet/ which is pretty addictive. My first plans for MOP is to go for loremaster on my main Pryderic the undead mage. It'll probably take quite awhile but I think it didn't take more than a few of weeks of my spare time to get the Cata Loremaster.

Anyway, hope your all well and catch up with an audio for next week!

Cheers,

Rigarmorty

Audio for CAW Ep 282

Hiya Sweeties,

Hope you are all well and having a wonderful week.

Please find attached my audio for this week - sorry the quality is a little off tonight, I think I need to adjust my headset and stop heavy breathing down the microphone or something lol.
Will have to have abit more of a play with audios I think :)

Have a great show tonight and I will catch you all in-game soon!

Big group huggles xoxo

Submission for 8/19/2012
Hello CAW Crew

Almost forgot to send one in again, because of your time recording this week, so very last minute!

Just sending in a quick WoW update as we finally relax after our show. We had a standing ovation all but two nights, and everything went awesome. Except the night Morgaine's parents came and I ripped the seam of my pants during the show. For the rest of the run I made sure my underwear matched my pants, haha! It was super awkward watching Morgaine kiss two different men on stage, but that's one of the sacrifices one must make for theater.

Morgaine's week in WoW: Wren ran my Warlock through Ramparts to get her a few quick levels (since I HATE Hellfire). We also played a little more on my disc priest with his death knight. Been transmuting Airs like nobody's business and finally updated our WoW blogo.

Wren's week in WoW: Started leveling my alliance toons again, hoping to get them all to 85 before mists hits. Lowest leveled toon alliance side is my level 64 rogue, then my level 79 priest and shaman. So this looks very possible. Other then that and helping Morgaine out little time to play as we wrapped up our show.

For the Horde, For the Alliance, For the "Holy crap, a day off that I actually have no plans?!?!"

Wren and Morgaine.

A wonderful surprize!

Hey gang!

Ashayo, didn’t mention your name in the heading last week as I was responding to an e-mail from Aprillian so with that explanation, hopefully I can at least become neutral with you again. And yeah, I’ve had to put up with the Donnie Osmond jokes all my life. Didn’t get any cred till Jonny Depp played Donnie Brasco.

Anyway, thought I’d share with you all, I was in game Sunday morning and had to leave to take my nephew to Stockton’s first annual comic-con. Aprillian was jealous so I told her I’d send her pics. So we go and the place is rockin! Not bad for the first one but as I ventured around the arena it was becoming very clear that there was no WoW ‘stuff’ to be found. One artist told me she knew of a guy way across the venue that had a real nice piece of work so I ventured that way to check it out. As I came by a table, I noticed an older, but very attractive women seated there. There are a few comics on the table and come to find out she does a voice for a character named Firestarter in some show. Then I gaze around and notice other stuff on the table, and I look at the woman, and I notice something else, then I look at the woman, then I notice something more, and I start to put 2 and 2 together and I just fill with emotion. Now I may or may not be the oldest guy in CoD, but I know a few of you are around my age. This woman’s name is Kathy Garver and she played “Cissy” on the old television show “Family Affair”. Do any of you remember that show? OMG I had such a crush on her when I was a lad! She had lots of pics from the show and a cookbook she wrote with “Mr. French’s” recipes. So we have a wonderful chat, and I ask if I can take a picture with her and she says “Sure if you buy something”. So I proceeded to buy one of everything on her table! So I’m sending you the pic. I could feel my boyhood crush getting the better of me and I had to suppress putting a Big G move on her! Pretty much walked around in a total daze after that and never found the artist with the WoW drawing but found one dealer with ONE WoW figurine in the whole show! Not something I desired, some river paw dude, but I pretty much had to buy it on principle. Any way I wanted to say good luck to Wren and Morgaine with their play. I try to hit all of the local theater here and am amazed at the talent at this level. Last week’s CAW show was awesome as usual and have a great show this week and hope to see everyone in game! Donnie.

Hi!

Hi CAW crew - my name is Kimmi and I like lamp.

I love your show and you guys are smexy.

Loveyabaikkthx

Kimmi

Hey CaW crew sorry for no audio tonight but its been a busy time in real life for the Nekrobob's so not much to report. The most exciting thing in WoW this week is the addition of two new Troll Druids to the Nekro family. Their names are Shockamon and Bazzinga (yes Apprillian, just like sheldon says on Big Bang. Mrs. Nekro loves that show). These are our first attempts at the Druid class and thus far its been a lot of fun.
For ease of leveling we're both using the ferrel spec as we're only level 27. But for later higher levels we really don't know what to do. Should we chose the bear, the chicken or the tree? Any advise from our kind and knowledgeable fellow CoD members would be greatly appreciated.

Big birthday shout out and hugs to Juno, happy birthday !!!!

A very big birthday shout out to the lovely and wonderful Mrs. Nekobob who's birthday will be on Friday the seventeenth of August. She's the love of my life and my undead love for her is of course forever….

Cheers and thanks for your wonderful podcast and Mrs. Nekro's new Panda pet

Much love from the Nekrobobs

PS
We promise to have an audio for next weeks show because we love you all so very much :)

Hi Aprillian, or which ever member of the CAW staff handles contests,
This is Tiebur from the chatroom, also Tiber from Clan of Darkness (because U-Stream wouldn't let me have the Tiber name).  I'm writing in because you read my name as a winner of one of the Game-time cards that Donnie so generously donated.  Thanks so much, I've never won an online contest before.  This could jump start my next RAF account.  I promise, I'll write you-all detailed report of my WOW adventures soon.  It's just hard because these are busy times for altahaulics.  Darkmoone faire is ticking away as I speak, and I have many alts that haven't been there yet this month!

For the Alts!
Tiebur/Tiber

Emails from the future

G'day CAW Crew,

I thought I'd throw in the"g'day" to emphasise that this email comes to you from the land 'girt by sea', of Vegemite sandwiches, and 90% of the world's most dangerous creatures and critters.

I wasn't able to compose a missive last week, as the room I'd planned to jot down my thoughts in had been taken over by School Teachers working late. This week, I've opted to pre-empt any such disaster by writing during my lunch break at work.

Had I written in last week, I may have mentioned how I attended the AIE Remembrance march, via remote desktop from my iPad here at work. Or how I'd intended to gear up my 85 Blood Elf Mage but gave up after one horrible, horrible experience running Heroic Deadmines. I figure she'll get new gear in MoP.

And so to this week's shenanigans...

I've been leveling a Warlock as a side project, ever since I first stepped into the MoP beta. Those Warlock pet's just looked so cool that I stopped playing the beta. She'd been collecting dust at level 36 for a long time, but I was able to get her to 70 pretty quickly. But that's where the malaise took hold. I've leveled a number of toons through Northrend, and I just couldn't face questing through that content again. The last two toons I took through there, I took through as healers, and just ran instances from 70 to 80. That's not as easy for a character who can only DPS. I don't think bandages will make the grade, despite Aprillian constantly offering to heal raids with her bandaging skills. I needed another method of leveling, and listening to this podcast provided the inspiration. I was going to dig up Azeroth in the name of Archeology all the way to level 80! So far it's been great. I've been flying around Azeroth, seeing areas that I hadn't previously seen since the cataclysm, digging holes and queuing for the occasional instance. It's all been rested experience, and each site has netted me around 14,000 experience points. Soulsista is now level 76, and out of rested XP. Archeology is not so attractive anymore, as I'm getting half the XP out of rested, so I've bitten the bullet and started questing again. Picking up a quest that had me running around inside a cave in North-Western Dragonblight, she was dotting and AoEing like a boss. It reminded me of what it was like when my Boomkin used to be fun to play. I completed the quest and handed it in, and then went to sell the trash I'd collected en-route. That's when I spotted a staff in my bags! "Ooh! What's this?" I thought. "How does it stack up to the weapon I'm using?" And that's when I found I'd just been questing with my fishing rod equipped... And I still kicked butt! Add Warlocks alongside Hunters in that list of "Classes that are O.P".

Tarngarth, my boomkin druid, has been in desperate search of some leather caster shoulders, so he can then transmogrify them with these awesome melee dps shoulders he's been carrying around in his bags for the last few weeks. They have the head of a wolf on each shoulder, which is pretty bad-ass. Did I mention that they also breath fire? With nothing dropping in Dragon Soul, I went and broke Jeppy's 1 commandment "Though shall not spend gold", and bought some leather PvP shoulders on the AH for 450G.

Friday night saw a group of us enter Ulduar 25 man, for some retro raiding. No doubt this will already have been covered so I wont go into any detail, except to say I got to show off my new fire-breathing wolves, before transforming into a crit-chicken and looking like every other crit-chicken in the game... Sigh...  Whoever is reading this is probably going hoarse and needs a drink around now. Just to say thanks to everyone that made it an awesome evening.
I got so, so many achievements on Friday, and my first ever proto-drake, it was amazing. And to top it off, we then went on to do Obsidian Sanctum with three drakes up. Again, this was a first time event for me too, having only previously done the raid 'at level', and with no drakes up.  Ashayo, grats on getting the mount mate.

Congratulations also to Kimolly on getting the legendary bow that dropped during the night, and to Leeta to finally, finally, getting The Claw this week. I tweeted afterwards that I think The Claw should play Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock, and I still hold hope that one day it will. What makes my mind boggle, is that Leeta can still be found to be digging dirt around Azeroth. I think perhaps that she's forgotten what the game is all about and all she knows now is digging. Poor thing.

In other news, I was excited to see that the pre-patch for Mists dropped this week. Hopefully this will mean that we'll see 5.0 sometime soon. I'm hoping to have Soulsista sitting at level 80 at least, before Mists drops.

Finally, I'd like to thank Donnie and the CTRL ALT WOW podcast for the 30 day WoW time that I won last week. That was a most excellent surprise! Epic lewts!!!

See you all in-game.

The email with no name

Lets see what have I been up to this week had a lengthy tweet chat about the princess bride, Watched as a truck hit the servo I was working in then laughed and took photo's, stayed awake for 24 hours straight and worked for 16 of them yes I am that hardcore. Also bleaced my hair well my lil sister did the bleaching I just sat their and told my nephew he was next and watched kids shows with him. Shifted all our cows because the local ranger was going to fine us for animal cruelty the only thing we are guilty of with the cows is over feeding them I think plus moving cows great way of getting pooed on peed on and other beaten up by something with really sad eyes. With the hair I been getting two reactions one postive the other shocked and asked what i was freaking thinking. On Wednesday i go to Perth for my camera section I am ready for my close up mister denero plus I also like to send a shout out to Juuno for I hope she is having a really happy birthday.

Ding..and the fight continues

Hello Aprillian, Ashayo, ElJeppy and Tedrah,

It's your friendly neighborhood paladin here, with a quick rundown on my week in wow.  Didn't get much done with Tayja this week, mostly ran TB dailies and Molten Front dailies with her.  This coming up week I plan on getting her into dungeons and do some raid finder to try to finally get her some gear that she desperately needs.

My hunter Dannara is now 84 and working her way through the Twilight Highlands.  Her leveling seems to be going rather fast so I am hoping I can be at 85 by Tuesday, and get her a fresh start on working to get JP and VP.  I am really enjoying playing her, and she just may become my main come MoP.

I would like to send out a shout out to someone very special to me, who has brought so much joy and happiness into my life recently.  She is a very special, loving, caring person, and she has stolen my heart completely. She is the one, and I know sometime in the future I will ask for her hand in marriage, and I hope she accepts.  I love you baby (you know who you are).

Well rambled on long enough, hope this gets to you, and you all have a great and happy week in Azeroth and in real life too.

The Amazing Paladin,
Tayja of Eathern Ring
