Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 235 - To Quint or Not to Quint

Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 235 - To Quint or Not to Quint

Aprillian, Ashayo, Virshna and Jeppy discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Contest Ongoing send an email to ctrlaltwow@gmail.com telling us how you play WoW, either as an altaholic or dealing with it in your family life to being placed in a drawing for a month free of WoW or a WoW Pet or an Authenticator.

What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Astarå is 39% from 85, she's a Holy Pally. Enchanted Aprillian new weapon Insidious Staff with Heartsong then Astarå put a scroll of the enchant on the AH. Hypnotic dust was wicked cheap.
Took Darshi & Nevahoof to Brewfest, XP is great.

Running BRD with Darshi, Nevahoof and Elyte
Do Relic Coffer keys have a time limit
Friday:
Daily Cog Quest without and with RAF:
Apparently Goblins get drunk quicker

Seems like there are more Wolpetingers
Did the Elek quests, not much xp
Did the barking
Got a couple of 60's, and a 62 to help Darshi and Nevahoof, level 55, get into upper BRD
Keep forgetting about mass summoning. Exp is nice up there.

Got the pair to 57 Fri. Did a group for Hellfire Ramparts using Drame, Tøp, Deap, Darshi & Nevahoof. Nice exp, had to log off after the first boss.
Logged back in to Darshi, Nevahoof & Elyte during lunch on Saturday. I forgot we got there in group. Darshi died when Elyte dragged a bunch but didn't realize one had gotten away from her. So Darshi took the Spirit Healer near Honor Hold & was trying to ride back to the instance, couldn't see it because the map wasn't filled in, so I had Elyte step out, waited to see her dot and then realized she was outside of Upper Black Rock Spire.

Moved on to Hellfire Ramparts
Took the twins to Brewfest on Mon. You get xp just for accepting the Brew for Brewfest daily quest, doesn't matter if you do it for that one, you get the xp up front.

Vrishna and Aprillian

Tol Barad in and out

Vrishna

Brewfest for the first time.

Virinya ; Breaking out of Tol Barad, 250 fish and a couple of new trinkets ! And a fine new axe ! Guild runs for Coren Direbrew, there were 4 of us and we did pretty ok. I was tanking and only died once, just me !

Virishna ; Tol Barad in SEARCH of new trinkets !

Ashayo

Hunter - Giving my hunter some love. Normally run beast master, but decided to try to get some better DPS in Coren by switching to Marksmanship. Found that pet talents are spec specific!!
Changed spec, reforged a little (more crit), went from 6700 dps on Coren to 9000 , and that wasn't even doing the rotation for Careful Aim phase (to 90%) of the fight (iLevel 327 - so not even heroic ready)

Shaman
- Healed mana tombs ; pretty easy, no mana issues. No pun intended!

DwP - ICC heroics
Sindragosa achievement
Missed Princes ach
Blood Queen

BoT - The bastion of Twilight ach
New mace off Cho'gall - reforged to get back to hit cap

DwP - Firelands
Left foot / right foot dude
Alysrazor - dodging fire ; new cloak
Baleroc - weird ass healing mechanic - new staff - lots of spirit so have to unforge again!
Majordomo - fun healing aoe
Ragnaros - nearly but not quite

Bangobingo Update #5

Hey CAW Crew,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their time in and out of game. I have been been able to sneak online more often that usual though I wish I had a more consistent schedule for wowing. I have attached a screen shot  with my newest non combat pet I won from the podcast contest. I know I have been delinquent and I hope this will suite the needs for the screenshot request from Aprillian. In the shot you will see my subtlety rogue and CoD member, Tiptop, contemplating what to do with his new companion.

Anyway, not on to what I have been up to in game. I was finally able to run Karazhan with the guild on my warrior, Bangobingo. The run was a success but I was constantly battling my 8 month old son who wanted constant attention. I ended up having to play most of the raid one handed but with three 85's along for the run it was not much of an issue. I have begun the chase for the Shield of Impenetrable Darkness for the upcoming Transmogrification feature in patch 4.3. The shield drops from Nightbane, but unfortunately we hand not doe the requisite quest line to summon the dragon in Kara on the guild run. Fortunately, with the help of the guild, Varinya in particular, I was able to complete the quest line and solo my way though to get my first Nightbane kill. The shield didn't drop but I now know I can slip into the raid and attempt to pry it from the dragon's dead hands each and every week. I did take a small break while I completed the briefest achievements and earned my "Brewmaster" title in only two days of playing the event. I think the quests bugged because I was able to do all of the quests (not just the dailies) both days.

I have also been making some headway with my alts! My mage, Readytogogo, has been steadily leveling up and is currently 52 with a fresh new portal to Stonard. My rogue, Tiptop, has been mining and herbing his way to 43 and I look forward to honing my PvP skills in the battle grounds in the meantime. I also broke down and created a death knight, Jimdangle, who is currently level 60 and sitting in outland. I will try to get him into the guild but he is really only around to be my alchemist for this server.

Finally I leave you all with a few questions based on my recent endeavors. Is there any gear you are farming for transmogrification? Are you simply looking at gear that comes your way? Do you care about transmoging at all?

Take care!

v/r (Very Respectfully, because I know you'll ask ;))

Brewfest

Hi all

I was so drunk the other day that  I could see the mysterious    Woplganer  ..and I was very lucky and  caught   six of them in a  net .
I had to return them but I did get to  eat ...sorry meant say   ...  to keep one .

What will I do with it  ?  Can the  "The Disgruntled Warlock"  help and tell me how to cook it. I assume in beer.

Quarterly update from peterrabbit

Hey caw,

Just an update on what I have been doing in wow. Its been a long time since I've submitted. Basically I've been doing my profession dailies on my 85's.  I've ran the brewfest boss probably 60 times so far getting my welfare trinkets. I have been in a rut for quite sometime with wow (heck I have a raf I have not played in like 4 weeks)  and have decided to work on  leveling my druid and warrior.  The warrior is about 45 or so and the druid is 65 now. I did 5 levels today with unrested xp and it still flew by. Blizzard has made leveling almost easy mode now.   I was able to do the brewfest boss with vrishina, dreams, and wildkingdom (I think he was the fourth guildie we were able to knock out 4 or 5 of the guild instance runs which was nice. I'm always up for instance runs if anyone needs a tank, healer or a dps hit me up. All of my 85's are at least heroic geared as well as pvp sets so I'm up for anything. I love to run with the guild, it doesn't happen enough though in my opinion.
I'm also working on the cooking achievement for the guild. I'm making fortune cards and turning them into fortune cookies to sell. I do about 300 a week so COD is getting there.  Is also like to get a bunch if us together and knock the fishing one out, its not that bad if you do the borean tundra blood pool method.
The following is all jeppy's fault, he told me people would be interested in my experiment. One of the things I do still enjoy is playing the auction house to make gold. I listen to a ton of podcasts and a couple I listen to on a regular basis are the addicted and bind on equip. I joined their guild with a dk. The purpose of this was to do an experiment. I did a couple quests and had around 20 silver on that toon (the only toon on that server). The experiment was to see if a low level player can be self sufficient as far as gold making. I am not farming or crafting anything to sell.  It's been a long time since I've started out fresh without a transfer. I had to use the remote auction house for all of this experiment because the dk is still in the starting area. The unintended part of this was I'm unable to use any addons either. I started out looking at the lower priced auctions with bids and found a bunch. I placed bids on close to 50 auctions and won like 4. But it was a start. I posted those 4 wins and continued to bid. Every time I did my bidding is look at the auctions that were ending soon and got good deals there occasionally. I've spent about 20-25 minutes total each day for about a week and I'm up to 209g. My big win was getting 4 stacks of tiger lily for 3g/ stack and flipping them for 20g/stack. Playing the auction house is something I know well but even this suprised me, especially on a new realm where I don't know the economy. It's easy to make gold when you have a lot of capital to invest but its still possible even if your new. If you see me in game and have any questions feel free to whisper me and ill answer to the best of my ability.
Well, I better get going and not tie up the podcast too much more.  Cya later.  Peterrabbit and his many alts.

How I play.... (please enter me in the contest)

Hi JAVA,
Been listening to your podcast for a while now. I just love it! The chemistry between you four is what keeps me coming back week after week. I must admit, i ration you guys out, so i am not up to date with the podcasts yet( right now you guys are talking about midsummer fire festival) So it will probably be thanksgiving before I hear you read this!
So, about me... I am married to a wonderful man( in spite of the fact he has no interest in WoW*gasp*). I know... I've tried to get him to see the error of his ways but he is a stubborn son of a... oops, clean tag. but you get my drift. I have 3 kids, age range 28- 6. and 2 grandkids. I have eager converts there... all willing to kill whatever comes in reach while I am AFK.
I learned about WoW from a coworker, and did the free trial... I was hooked. I started on a PvP server that was suggested by my coworker and got ganked repeatedly. in spite of this, i still played and limped my way around. My coworker then left me to my own devices and i leveled a couple of toons to mid 30's without knowing about talent points the auction house or gear upgrades( how is that possible you say? *shrugs shoulders* what can i say, I'm a blonde).  The i found CAW, and azeroth opened up. I found out there were realms that didnt have everybody beating my brains in while Im out picking daisies and whatnot. So now I have about 15- 20 toons spread across 6 realms and would love a guild invite to CoD. On earthen ring I have an 84 troll hunter named Tallulah and just rolled a tauren druid named Moonah. I rolled a toon on Winterhoof but didnot realize that that was an alliance guild. I am a die-hard Hordie! I will have to give the alliance a try if i ever get bored( just to see how the other half plays)*giggle*
Thank you for the time you all put into the podcast, I know my day is brighter when I listen to you four and the audio submissions always delight!

                                                                                                                     Love, Tallulah
P.S I have a question... I'm having level cap anxiety. how do you turn off the xp? Truth be told, that is why i rolled Moonah, Tallulah is not ready to grow up.

Ashayo>>> The toon name is Slahtz <Experience Eliminator> and he's in the Hall of the Brave (Valley of Honour) upstairs in the same room as Karg Skullgore the Battlemaster, and partially stealthed

Liteharted Audio Submission 28 Sep

Hey CAW crew!
(That is what you are, isn't it or are you back to CoD now?)  Hmmmm. One's for the birds and the other seems a little fishy to me....
Anyway, here is my audio submission. I think I stuck with the Ctrl Alt Wow general philosophy on editing.
For the Alliance (in my deepest gnome voice)!

HI Aprillian, Vrishna, Ashayo & Eljeppy!

Here's this weeks audio update!

Submission for 235

Helloooo CAW sweeties,
Hope this finds you all well - both in-game and real life.
Firstly I just wanted to say I have been thoroughly enjoying  listening to the live show on Ustream however I have an apology to make. Last week I decided to sneak out and make myself a cuppa during the live show, only to find while listening to the podcast 2 days later that Aprillian had asked me a question as to whether I multi-boxed! I was completely mortified that I missed it :( I'm so sorry Aprillian. And my answer to you is even though I have 2 accounts I am completely hopeless at it (which I have tried) and prefer to mono-box however you just never know, I'm sure I will try it again.
Well i have been very busy Brewfesting away on my 85's. Was starting to think that "There is no loot" was the new kewl kids phase for this years Brewfest when finally last nite - the Kodo dropped for my Warrior and the Ram dropped for my Death Knight. Also got Brewmaster on my Warrior so am happy Panda :)
Spending some time over on Nevikhoof with my lil Human Warlock - is a nice change to do something abit different. Am enjoying seeing the quests from the Aliiance point of view as it's been about 6 years since I've played Aliiance.
Well I had better get this sent in so I don't miss this weeks podcast.
Thank you all again for the wonderful show you provide and allowing us to come on this wonderful ride in WoW with you.
Take care
Hugs Leeta

Quick update

Hello all,  Ashayo, Virishna, Jeppy and of course Apprillian :)
Kona here with an update, and a few thoughts.
First of all I have really been spending loads of time in game, I so love the Holiday season.
My daily ritual has been to log in and run the holiday boss Coren Direbrew, this goes pretty quick even for my dps classes.
KonaJace, my NE warrior got the Kodo on his first run, and also 4 days later, boo on that. Any trinkets that he could use or get have been looted and besides many days of no loot at all, fun has been had. Side note it looks like after the Tuesday reset the Keg will have minimum of some brewfest coins.
Konajack has received the DPS coaster trinket and 2 of the Direbrew shankers, I love the broken bottle look and they are also an upgrade to his Tol Barad Staff.
KonaJobe Trinkets for Dps and tanking
Koanjoe Has gotten the Pickled Egg and the Mithril stop watch
Robusta has gotten the coster also and Im hopping to the the Shanker for him also.
As for Kónadark my NE Priest, I went on a leveling tear to get him from 82 to 84. He has since healed to Brewfest boss, which as a low lvl 84 was quite "interesting" but even some may have died "oops" no wipes happened. He now has some Ilvl 365 trinkets waiting for him at 85 plus a shinny new Brewfest ram.
I have also taken KonaJohn, My 2nd NE druid from 81-84 and have been running Coren Direbrew every day, he also has some shinny new dps and healing trinkets waiting for him to get to 85.
During my running Kónadark and John to 84 I have healed many an instance, in most of them I have received many great compliments about the healing that I do. I find that since John is my 2nd Druid his healing is a pice of cake. Dark on the other hand has been quite the learning experience but I am getting better. having to Drink all the time is kinda lame, and when your tank continues to pull while low on mana can be stressful. I have also had Dps Crying out for heals, to much standing in the stupid there, I politly tell them that if the tank dies we all die, and besides there was only on death on the last boss.
When It is off to the Dungens again, more details to come later. sorry if this feels rushed.
For the Love of the Game and the many awesome people playing it
Kona and his many alts

way too long/wall of text

Hey guys. It's been a long time since I last emailed, but with all the great updates you get each week, I wanted to wait until I had something worth talking about. :)
Since Blizz announced gear customization, I have been farming Heroic Burning Crusade dungeons to piece a set together for my warrior. That project is complete and after running Heroic Ramparts many, many times I finally have my last plate item. Here is a link of my Undead Warrior in his new gear:
I can’t wait for 4.3
I decided to work on Segard my long neglected Dwarf hunter on Nevikhoof. After a couple of days I have leveled him from 10 to 32. Surprisingly quick considering I do not have any heirlooms on that server. I have been leveling by questing and mixing in the occasional dungeon and battleground. My last battleground was epic!
It was Warsong Gulch and the horde team capped the first flag. I was shocked when 1/2 of the alliance team did not disband or start complaining about how bad the alliance is in PvP. Instead my team was very horde like and pushed ahead. I managed to stop a Tauren Druid just before he was able to cap a second flag. A quick stun to slow him in the tunnel to the flag room along with my trust wolf gnawing on him was enough for me to bring him down and return the flag to our base.
Now the tide was beginning to change and we were slowing gaining some momentum. We managed to cap a flag to tie the game with 10 minutes left. An epic battle ensued and the struggle to hold the center of the field went back and forth and at least a half a dozen flags were picked up and returned by each side. The clock was ticking and even though it was tied, the team that scores first wins the battleground in the event of a tie.
Two minutes left.

There I was with my trusty wolf in the enemy base. I just took out a rogue that was hiding near the flag and the room was empty. I decided to grab the horde flag and run as fast as I could back to our base. The horde also picked up our flag but their carrier decided to try and plow his way down the middle of the field. He was quickly taken down and our flag was returned to our base. I decided to run long the right side to avoid bloodbath at midfield.
The rogue that I killed moments ago respawned and was hot on my heels. She hit sprint and I was in aspect of the cheetah. One hit and I would be dazed! Just before she closed into range, my trusty wolf stunned her. She popped her trinket and continued to close in. My heart pounded and I swear I could see the venom dripping from her blades.
Less than a minute to go.

I rounded the top of our base and pulled off the best jump shot I have ever attempted. Honestly I have no idea where that came from :)  My barrage smashed into her and she slowed her to a crawl. I sped along the tunnel as the few remaining seconds ticked down. I dove for the cap point and we received our second point just as time expired. Alliance Win!!!
My friends I have played this game since launch in 2004 and I have had many great times in this game. That battleground is one of my favorites! If you are bored and even if you do not have the best gear or not a fan of pvp, I urge you to level an alt and give it a go. You might surprise yourself how much you enjoy it.

Segard - Ctrl Alt WoW on Nevikhoof

quick note about the hyjal blah blah blahs

Once you open all three vendors there is actually a guy in the first tree that will take 30 of the marks of the world tree for a bag.   Inside the bag well who knows what you may find.  I got three greens and gave up but a guildie got a pet.

Love the show,
Mattief, Crilherin, Bhandayd, Leseig, Mieren, and enough alts to i hope make Aprillian proud:
Crîl, Crïl, Críl, Crìl, Heghaka, Fivehole, Caryatid, Boyardee, Sinthvia, Ehmoneehone, feathermee, collector, fridgidaire, xtrabank, loomtender, Aanallein, anansï, im pretty sure thats not all but names escape me.  Arygos and Jubei'thos servers.

Thanks for all ya'lls humor and recording it so we can share a bit in your fun.  *S*

Kadak submission 234

and as always  :)

It's been a long while...

Hail and well-met fellow guildmates!

It’s been a long while since I last sent a missive.  But, now I have some questions for the content guy(s)!  So, if Ashayo or Brew Dog would give me their input to a simple question, I would be thankful.

I’ve a Ret Paladin, Wolfbrother.  http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/earthen-ring/Wolfbrother/simple

I’ve been pondering if I should put together a Tank spec for him and that leads me to my question:  What is the differences between a Prot Spec’d Paladin and Ret Paladin when it comes to equipment sets?  Is it that a Ret goes with the 2-handed weapon, typically, and a Prot goes Shield/1-handed weapon?  Or is there more than that to it?  The spec side of it, I can pull off of http://wowpopular.com/

There’s some bleak hope that I’ll get to join up with a newly forming group of Day [T]Raiders with Fireland content.  But, if life is as crazy-busy as it has been for the last ..almost 6 weeks now, it may be harder to swing than I thought it would be. :-/

So, aside from my Pally-question, I’ve recently gotten my little, now level 20, Rogue Xirkai (ZIR-kye), “Jepped In” to Clan of Darkness.  Which now means I can see whose actually online and not just those folks in the CAW channel. ;-)

Oh, and look…my game card has expired on the eve of my birthday.  Yay…go me!  Well, or not.  Well, I’m stealing time now to write this while I wait on some things to download and update, so I should get back to that.  I’ll catch y’all online, hopefully sooner than later!

“Be well…”
--Lionchild / Eranth / Wolfbrother / Xirkai

weekly cooking tip *audio submission*

Greetings CAW crew, and Virshna.

C.C. The Disgruntled Warlock here

Sorry I missed you guys last week I was busy flying kites with some bunnies, and by flying kites I mean rolling bunnies into the mine field up in K3 to see how far they can fly.  Unfortunately I cant do a video segment like you requested, so here is the next best thing.  This is actual audio of me cooking bunnies.  Hope you enjoy, I know I did............LOL.  Will I get a promotion now for being an audio submitter?

Rigarmorty Audio For Episode 234

Hi Aprillian, Vrishna, Ashayo and Eljeppy and the chat room!
Hope you've all had an awsome week! Attached is my audio update as usual.
For the Horde, For the Alliance and for yet another alt.
Cheers,
Rigarmorty

Good morning, CAW Crew

Kithore and I are very sorry that we were unable to get an audio in this week. It seems every time we had it planned to record, something else just had to get into the way. Generally, it was just life. Life tends to do that.

We hope you have been doing well, in game and out.

I (Dreams) have been working on a few things this week. I finally got up enough honor that every single piece of my armor is either Season 10 or Season 9 PvP gear. My cloak is conquest, as you heard last week. And my weapon and shield are Season 9. They didn't have Season 10 weapons and shields available for honor, so I had to drop down and get the Season 9 things. It was still nice, however, because that weapon was the last piece of gear I needed to be item level 359, and I got my "Cataclysmically Epic" achievement. This is, of course, all on my healing set. http://www.twitpic.com/6nmvi8

I finally realized that I was wearing crafted PvP gear on my tank spec... that was actually DPS gear that I had reforged to have dodge. So I decided to try Paladin DPS again. I reforged the gear, yet again, to be more appropriate for DPS, and changed my spec back to Retribution. We'll see how it goes. I think I'll have to have a few brave souls willing to test some dungeons out with me to see if I can pull it off.

Both of my 85 toons only need 1 more achievement before receiving their Brewmaster title, so I can be like BrewDawg. I just need to earn those 200 tokens so I can join the Brew of the Month club, and then I'll have it. (Oh yes, and I want that pink elephant pet. So badly!)

Kithore has been getting a little more opportunity to play this week, it seems. Kithleen, his new toon, got all the way to level 20 yesterday. (Woot for no more walking!) Kithorina has been running more and more random heroics, but has been having really bad luck with groups. Something always seemed to go wrong, and people simply kept dropping, or wiping, or whining like little babies. He did finally get her through a few dungeons, however, and he was able to get a few chaos orbs - which is one of the reasons he was running the heroics. She can use them for her tailoring, so he's really liking that added dimension to heroics, since Kithore is just a gatherer, he hadn't gotten the orbs before.

His "English Class" is going incredibly well, and his students are now picking up his form of speaking "English" very quickly and fluently. Very soon, we will have a whole large group of students who speak just like Kithore!

You all have a great week, and we'll hope to see you in game.

Momomoments - Mofishing and mofun

Hello all,
hope everyone is doing well.
I do actually have some wow time to tell you about besides just dailies, fishing n things.

Of course I have done fishing and cooking dailies on my druid morfin and added a few more achievements for both.
I have been able to loot a few fishing poles with my fishing daily bag and one of them is names bone fishing pole which I think comes with a little aligator pet called Chuck.

I have slowly leveled my pally and shammy as well they are 73 going on 74.  I did take them to a Kara run Saturday with a couple of guildies (dreams, bango, and mr rabit aka peterrabbit)
It was fun, Kara is always fun in my opinion, even when it was the top raid in the game.
I did go through it on my priest moheal back in the day.

I do still wish to do another raf but I think I will wait when I know I can put in good quality wow time.  I want to experience the fun of leveling on super caffeine mode.

That is all from me.
Hope everyone is ok and having fun in and out of game.
Take care,

--

Hi All
I am sending this e-mail for consideration of being accepted as member of the Clan of Darkness Guild. I listened to the podcast for the last year and enjoyed it alot. I was mainly attracted to the group you've assembled and the fun everyone seems to be having in the guild. I have been a player of both War Craft and the World of Warcraft for a number of years. I have leveled a number of toons. I have 4 level 85s (rogue, priest, mage and a warlock) two of which are raid ready with ilvl >360. Presently I'm leveling a Holy Pally on the earthern ring server and having a lot of fun doing that. This toon is level 65 and his name is Hard. Believe it or not this name came up on the random name generator. Since it seemed unique and short I went with it. I hope I won't regret this choice. I usually play a few hours each day. Therefore if you consider me acceptable to the guild contact me online and send an invite.
Best wishes

Hello CAW crew, Sorry it has been a little while since I sent in an email. I find that when I have free time I spend most of it in game at the expense of everything else. It seems like it has been awhile since Blizzard actually did scheduled maintenance on Tuesday but the servers are down today and it is the perfect opportunity to update you on what my toons have been up to lately.

First off, over on Winterhoof, my Hunter Nexbardus has leveled up to 69. I didnt spend too much time in Outlands, only leveling in Hellfire and Nagrand, and heading over to the Borean Tundra at 68. I got a lot of xp from about 58 to 68 by doing the Fishing and Cooking dailies in Darnassus and the dailies for the Frostsaber mount in Winterspring. I got the Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber after my required 20 days of dailies and it is a very cool looking mount. Also much easier quests for the alliance to get this one than for the horde to get the Venomhide Raptor mount. I also flew down to Booty Bay for Pirate Day and got the Captain's Booty achievement. Will try to send a screenshot or two but no promises on how they will turn out. Been seeing a lot more guildies over on Winterhoof lately which is great.

Over on Earthen Ring, my Shaman Nexbardus has been up to quite a bit. I just finished getting her a full set of Vicious Gladiator's PVP gear a couple days ago. I initially started out doing PVP to convert the Honor Pts to Justice Pts and gear up for PVE. I was having so much fun PVPing though that I decided to just go for a full set of PVP gear instead. I used to PVP a lot during Vanilla and BC on my Gnome Rogue Orcrist which is still stuck at level 70 on Kel'Thuzad PVP server. And I still remember spending entire Saturdays just queuing for Alterac Valley over and over again for gear. Anyway, now that I have a complete set of PVP I will start working on the PVE stuff again. I usually try to get in the Tol Barad battle every time I can and also try to win a Random Battleground every day if possible. I might even try getting back into some Heroic Dungeons eventually eventhough I haven't enjoyed them much in Cataclysm so far.

A couple days ago I finished the Molten Front Offensive and got my Flameward Hippogryph. I am still doing all the dailies in Firelands though to get the Scorchling pet. I am also still doing about 5 dailies at the Argent Tournament. I only need to get Exalted with Silvermoon at this point to open the rest of the quests. I skip the jousting quests though. I do the fishing and cooking dailies and one or two dailies at Tol Barad to finish out my 25 for each day.

I have been soloing a lot of the old dungeons initially to get cloth to raise my First Aid and also for the achievements. I leveled too fast and also have tailoring so there wasn't  enough cloth to also go towards First Aid. But I have a lot of fun soloing the dungeons so I have been doing some BC dungeons and Wrath dungeons. I haven't had any trouble soloing the Wrath dungeons even on Heroic. I also went into Karazhan for the first time ever but had trouble at the chess event as it is possible but tough to solo. Going to go back in there soon to try again. If anybody wants to run in there just let me know.

Also got Exalted with Clan of Darkness at the beginning of this past week and ran down to Booty Bay for Pirates Day yesterday. I am thinking about getting Nexbardus a Race/Sex change but not sure which race to pick. What do you all think? I am tired of her being a Goblin and she looks a little goofy now. I am thinking probably Troll or Orc but racials might be a deciding factor.

On my Druid Nexverto I am almost to level 83. I have mostly been doing Argent Tourney dailies, have them all available but I skip the jousting ones. I have been using Nexverto to get the Argent Tourney Pets for Nexbardus. Just finished getting them all a few days ago. Also did a little bit of questing in Mt. Hyjal just to get better gear. At first I couldnt solo Chillmaw but then I realized I never updated my glyphs when I respeced to Balance so fixed that problem and can solo Threat from Above now. Also killing the Kraken for the extra quest is another one of my favorites. Eventually I will get this toon to 85 and probably try some Druid healing. Some other exciting news for Nexverto is that I finally got the Reins of the Green Proto Drake to drop from the cracked egg after what seems like a couple years of trying.

Just wanted to finish by saying that I got to hear a couple of the live shows. It is quite a difference and a lot of fun to hear. See yall later, Nexbardus

Kadak submission 233

:)

a little side note on submission:

until you hear her say hello , Liz Tailor had just been in the background. you would hear Liz from Mel's mic.

I just want to say thank you to Melchezadec ( that is probably not how you spell it, but you know who I am talking about ) and Liz Tailor for allowing me to record and submit these. I had a blast in these dungeons and hope to get the chance to run with them again :)

Letter 8   ----------  September 13, 2011
From Reefberry

Dear CAW,

Favorite PvP moments have been the subjects in several recent CAW episodes, so I searched my memoirs. Before my wife and brothers started playing Warcraft, I played on the PvP server, Eredar. We were mucking are way through, 40 man Molten Core. Typically, we gathered in Kargath where we dueled to spend the time while the officers started sending out raid invites. When we had more than twenty we would mount up and ride together kicking up dust. I still picture this strange parade of various mounts and races. We would stop and camp just outside the Searing Gorge entrance into Blackrock Mountain. Here we would wait for the last minute players and find guildy fill-ins for those who couldn’t make the raid that night. Killing small groups of Alliance as they tried rushing by became a time filler and competition amongst ourselves as we waited for our raid stragglers.

During these days I played an undead frost mage named Thunderbone. He is still there on Eredar but long since neglected. Transfers didn’t exist. Frost mages were the only mages wanted for Molten Core. Now, frost mages are not desirable for raids… numbers, numbers, numbers.

Hoping to get an edge, I would climb the sides of the passage after the section made of railroad ties. Here I would rain blizzard down on approaching riders while my team mates would kill half of them before the Alliance where even off the mounts. I would think they might hesitate when seeing a Horde player or at least when the bones started piling up. Nope they never did. Some would ride right into the blizzard. Then right into the host of guild mates further up the path. Night after night, three times a week this scenario played out.

One night we delayed the raid because we were having too much fun preventing the Alliance from passing through. Why didn’t the Alliance just use the Burning Steps entrance? A lot of red text started appearing. We didn’t understand the language of course. A second horde guild started gathering. This later guild probably started there raids at 8:00 PM. Our raids always started at 7:30 PM.  They joined in the fun, being all too glad to get revenge. It seems this second Horde guild flew into Thorium Point to form for their raid and lots of angry Alliance characters were also gathering there. So now we had close to eighty Horde players. The red text chatter continued. We were all informed by a fellow Horde lying dead at Thorium Point that the Alliance were not running to Blackrock Mountain but were now milling about like bees in a disturbed nest. Then our dead spy tells us they were mounting and heading out as a pack. Can you still use dead spies?

Well anyway, the Alliance stopped just out of reach. More unreadable red text appeared. Ok, they are making sure all are together for the final run through. No problem for me, the tighter they pack the more units I slow down. Minutes pass, my finger is getting twitchy, some of the other Horde released a few AoEs on the path. People are getting edgy and tense, waiting, waiting. Our rogues are moving around constantly in their stealth mode. Was the Alliance trying to wait us out? Hoping we get bored? Raid text from our two stragglers reported five new Alliance riders approaching from the Badlands. The Horde stragglers take the shortcut up the hillside and jump down into the Horde crowd.

The waiting continues. Guild and raid chat discuss moving on and doing our raid or we attack them. Some Horde ranged units move forward to take a few shots. One got stunned, I jump down and cast a blizzard around him. No luck, the rogue got away. I turn to scramble back up the hillside off the main path. Chat lights up, “here they come”! No time to climb, I swivel and target the throng of which a few went by and most are now covering me. Humans, rams, mechano-chickens, dwarves, elves, it is a big mish-mash and I can’t make out individual characters any longer.

“In back”, I hear on vent. “In back”, I see in chat. What are they crying about? So we missed a few on the initial charge, quit typing and kill something.

“In back, in back.”

Too late, I’m running back now. So are 10 to 20 other ghosts.

“In back, in back.”

I stop to type, “What’s in back?” I’m a ghost. I can’t communicate. The parade of ghosts is now a constant stream of all races: humans, gnomes, trolls they’re all there.

Oops, someone fell down the open crane hole. “Follow the main stream”, I say out loud to myself.

The crowds slowly thin out. One toon chases another. Some run for an instance portal. Some just run wildly to nowhere. Spell flashes simmer down. The speakers subside with the occasional gun blast from somewhere. We are told to head for the instance. Later, inside Molten Core, I ask what the “in back, in back” squawks had meant. It seems another 40 man Alliance raid group came up the back tunnel through Blackrock. That must be why the front group hesitated, they were coordinating the attack.

Bones were everywhere. Bones piled ankle deep in the gate yard. Bones covered the railroad ties. Bones covered Blackrock’s hall floors. Bones were strewn up and down the chain. Bones led the way to Molten Core and Blackrock Depths and up to the Spires. Bones were in the lava, on the walls, hanging in mid air.  Bones extended beyond surface tops which appear to be clinging with one foot.

Whenever I see bones littering the ground I remember “The Bone Story.”

Thank You

Reefberry

Hola CAW Crew,

CoD Invite

Hi guys. Starting a toon on Earthen Ring.
Could I please get an invite for my Female Tauren Paladin called Teetillate.
thanks
Manbone
ps. Winterhoof is a very lonely place for an Australian player

From the Night Shift of COD

Hi  Guys

Hello again from the night shift .

Just a quick update

First I would like to thank Annastasza and Xcrnose for the wonderful  dungeon runs . The terrific thing for us has been that not once have we asked, nor expected a run through a dungeon, it’s just that people in this guild are so generous with their time.  Between them we have gone up 40 levels. Mel was embarrassed to find that at level 63 she had not trained since level 40. The levelling is that fast on RAF, combined with being in COD.

Huik (Wingy)  has joined us on these shopping trips as we look for greens and blues.  One of life's little mysteries is that  gear that drops is always for a class that is not there .

We miss Wright ( Jeppy) but hope he returns soon

Anyway back to shopping ( and Raf-fing)

42 and Mel

You know you play too much when...

Your microwave dings and you go, "Grats!".

What We've Been Doing:

Aprillian

Dragging 5 pups takes a lot of time. I keep losing focus and doing herbing and mining

Since Treeså had outleveled them, I went ahead and did some of Mauradan Earth Song Falls. Logged out after Epril and Nevahoof were killed and came back later to find my body at the teleport in site.

Ended up dinging 39 and taking them to ZF. Was disappointed again that Nevahoof couldn't skin, took them outside to level up

Dinged 41

Monday, back to the pups. Made my hunter the lead and set up macros on one druid to heal her.
Skinning seems faster
Doing the Stag quest, other worgens were stealing my stags.
Follow issues
Monday night did the Gilneas battle and the Follow Sylvanas
Tues, rolling restarts on ER. Finally finished the pups
Took the RAF Worgen and made a Dranei to go with her on ER. But the leveling was so slow. I took them to SW and then to the Human starting area.
Worgens have to change to wolf to use barber shopskype
They dehumanize the orcs. The orcs yell "Eat You"

Aprillian & Vrishna

Did Scarlet Monastery graveyard, got guild achievement

Also ran ZF and picked up the trash as long as I could, but the xp was pretty good.
Guild Challenge problem answered:
Greetings Delishas,

I am sorry we kept you waiting and weren't able to catch you while you were online. I received your concern about your guild challenge, and while we weren't able to speak, I hope I can get this sorted out for you!

I did investigate this issue, and after looking through this, it appears that one of the guild members in your party was level 40 at the time of this run, and Razorfen Kraul is level 32-35. If a player is not level appropriate for the dungeon, your guild will not be eligible for the guild challenge in that dungeon.

If you have any other questions about this, you can check our forums (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/) where you can discuss this with other players.

You can also go to 3rd party sites such as (http://www.wowhead.com/) and (http://www.wowpedia.org) for more information!

If you still need any help with this issue though or just have some lingering questions please feel free to hit the 'Need more help' button or visit your Support page on the Battle.net site here: http://us.battle.net/support to create and reply to tickets whenever you are not in-game! :)

Alternatively, if your issue was resolved, you can click 'message read' and confirm that it was. Thank you for contacting us and I hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft! <3

Best wishes,

Game Master Ixzal

Vrishna

Treesa is now even with her sisters and ready to play with them.
Got Journeyman and Expert in First Aid in the same day !
Started in Thousand Needles, mining under water so easy now that you get the under water breathing and jet pack. Also got the River Boat. Couldn't find a quest area, accidentally found Dustwallow Marsh. Between Theramore and Mudsprocket and 5-6k per turn in, leveled pretty quickly. Accidentally found Onyxia's lair. Couldn't stop giggling about the Onyxia Wipe Animation. Returned to Thousand Needles and found the quest I was looking for under water in a cave ! Anyway, up to lvl 46. It was great to see so much content that had either changed or that I had never seen before !

Re: Darreth of Ctrl Alt Elite

(This is a bit long and can be all over the place from part to part so sorry in advance plus it's up to you if you want to read on a future podcast or not, just not full real names at the end of the email which is for your eyes only).

Hi CAW crew, thank you so much for the very warm thank you on
podcast 231 as I'm "Darreth". I'm a 43yr old divorced father of two wonderful children, my son is 18 (lives with me when he's not working) and my daughter is 13 (she lives with her mother) we are all from Edmonton, Alberta (Canada).
I've been a fan of the
podcast for some time now, I think roughly since New Years a few years ago (It sounded funnier in my head! episode 148), other podcast's that I listen to are Bind on Equip, The Addicted, The Instance, Rawrcast, Twisted Nether, but Ctrl Alt Wow is my personal favorite, (my roommate likes The Addicted, but that's due to Hypknotoad's accent which she favors, I just recently got her to start a wow toon of course I RAF'd her in ;-) cause I want a rocket).
I think it's only been once or twice that people have whispered me asking about
Nevik, I think they just looked at the first part of the guild name or something..lol. I personally have never received any emails that were meant for CAW, but I would have forward them or re-mailed them on if I did, that's just the type of person I am, I believe that honesty is less work and more enjoyable than the alternative. I was brought up on old values, which I carry into my wow time, so you can rest easy now Vrishna ;-) I just like doing nice things unconditionally. About two years ago I actually sent an in game mail to the wrong person and the person I sent it to was kind enough to send it all back to me with a note, which I thought was awesome since it was about 1200g and some epics and sent them some flasks as payment for the honesty, there are a lot of great people that play the game, but yes there are bad apples too, but I'm always hopeful that the good outnumber the bad.
My son and I started playing wow just after Burning Crusade; we started on the Boulder Fist realm until we learned that you can create other
toons on other realms...lol(we thought at first you had to play on the first realm that popped up). We soon moved to Frostmane US PVP (I still have an 85 DK there named Hterrad) were we had some friends which is where the Ctrl Ält Elitë guild started(the A has an alt code 142 as well as the e is 137) it was there before us, but the people that ran it all left the game and handed it to my son. When we moved to Winterhoof my son wanted to avoid alt codes in names so it's just Ctrl Alt Elite. We lvl’d a few 80-85's (he has a bunch of 85's now his main is Sabeatris 85 human Mage, he also has a  hunter, paly, DK and druid), When we started on Frostmane, we did not realize how difficult a PVP server would be to level, so that was a tough lesson, but we both survived. As time went on, he and another friend started some new toons on Winterhoof, so I followed over as I was tired of PVP and a normal server was a happy move for me (less stress) so it was off to Winterhoof. I transfered Darreth 85 human Demo/Dest Warlock (525 Alch/525Tailor), Tomee 85 human Frost/Arcane Mage (525Herb/525Skin) (which started as my daughter's toon and she still plays her from time to time), Stinador 85 human Shadow/Disc Preist (525scribe/525Herb), Hterrad 85 human Blood/Unholy DK (525BS/525Mine), Kaistinne 83 human Frost/Arcane Mage (525Enchant/525Herb), Galthiong 78 NE Rogue also transfered (525Leather/515Skin) and the rest of the slots filled by lower lvl's (human warrior10, paladin36, NE druid21 and Worgen hunter14). I like Herbalism for the haste bonus, but might drop it on someone for JC. I've been playing my lock less and less, as to me Warlocks are broken and just don't have the punch they used to have towards the end of Wrath, then last big Warlock nurf came out and they haven't been the same since.  I've been the only one in our guild playing for last few weeks, as he and his friends have been busy with work and other games like SC2 and some have let accounts lapse. My daughter only plays wow when she comes over for weekends.
My son and I both have many alts scatter across realms, I have a few Horde toons on Earthen Ring, there's Moolighting lvl 12 Tauren Paly, Belleruraina lvl 8 BE mage, Baelgunk lvl 58 Orc DK, Kreieloris lvl 15 BE Paly, (I like the BE starting area) as you can tell I lean towards Alliance more than Horde, but I do keep trying to lvl a few horde toons, I've just never been able to lvl a Horde over lvl 20 other than the DK which doesn’t' count..lol. Maybe if I spend some more time there you could invite one to the clan, but if your near capacity it's no troubles as I'm not on those toons very often and would not want to take the space of someone who contributes on a regular basis.
I've never been much for dungeons, I haven't been in a 25 man since SSC and the last new 10 man was ICC. I do solo older dungeons on some of my toons and will run older content once in a while with family and friends, dungeons just became too much drama for me, allthough if you have the right people in a dungeon and everyone is there to have fun and making mistakes is not a crime, I would probably run more, but my laptop mic input is flakey so using voice communication software(ventrilo) is out until I buy a new laptop.
I mostly enjoy questing, gathering, achievements and I even have fishing to 525 on 3 of my 85's and I multi-box from time to time. I also enjoy helping people out, when time permits. I haven't been playing as much lately as RL has been busy and the internet connection that I use at work is a 3G Wireless hub which I have to pay for and in Canada data prices are outrageous, we have low caps of 10GB, and 20$ per GB when you go over the 10GB cap, I found out the hard way that it does not take much to go over the cap.

Here's my short walk down memory lane trip and newb moment..lol
I still remember doing the epic Warlock mount quest and having to round up people to run Dire Maul to get the mount, what a task, but a fun task that was, I still have the J'eevee's Jar, Black Lodstone and Xorothian Glyphs in Darreth's bank, plus I had many newbie moments when I started, the first big one was getting to lvl 20 or 21 on my lock before someone asked me about "where have you been putting your talent points?", my response was "what are talent points?"...lol it was a good laugh.

Sorry that this has turned into a small novel and that I'm a bit all over the place :-( ,  just heading off of nightshift makes me ramble from time to time. It's an IT job where I monitor the overnight operations (backups and batch processes) for a company in Edmonton.

So keep up the great podcast, for the Alliance and the Horde and many alts (one of us..one of us..).

Cheers from Canada to the ever uplifting Aprillian, the always positive Vrishna, the deep tones of Ashayo, and joyful innuendos of Jeppy and all the awesome various audio submitters.

Darreth (Bill)

Introduction

Hello CAW crew!

I just wanted to drop a quick email to introduce myself.  You know me as Grimsun on Nevik..er.. I mean, Winterhoof.  Funny,  I never actually thought I'd be joining the ranks of the CAW clan, but I had a few alts on Winterhoof  already and tonight I decided I needed a break from my main toons on Terokkar so I popped on over to Winterhoof to play on my baby hunter.  I rarely play alliance these days, but started out playing WoW as a Nelf Druid when BC came out.  Just before Wrath was released, I decided to try playing Horde, and I never really looked back, even faction changing my Druid to Horde, so my Night Elf became my Tauren, and the Horde toons piled up from there.  Yes, I play a lot of alts (too many to count but I'm sure not nearly as many as Aprillian or El Jeppy). All but a few of them are Horde, but it is also nice to have a change of scenery and see all the changes on the Alliance side of things since Cataclysm.

Since I was already on Winterhoof, I thought "hmm... I should join the CAW channel and ask for an invite!".  I was informed that to be promoted, I needed to contribute to the show, but I'm usually very reserved and kind of shy (well at least until I get to know people); so writing into a podcast is a bit out of character for me.  Nevertheless, I am very much enjoying the guild so far and have been an avid listener (lurker?) for quite some time now.  I guess I started listening just before Glanther left the podcast.  So, anyway, here's my email as promised :-)

I am an officer and sometimes co-GM of a level 25 guild on Terokkar of about 130-150 people depending on the week, and as you probably know, sometimes you just need to be the Guild Member and not the one running things, so Grimsun is my escape from all that.  Don't get me wrong, I love my guild mates there, but it's kind of like any other family - you just need to take separate vacations now and then, you know? LOL.  I have 6 85s on Terokkar- all Horde (Druid, Hunter, Priest, Mage, Paladin, and Warlock).  I really think of all of them as my "main" toons, but right now I'm really not doing a lot on any of them except PvP on my mage in frost spec (She is SOOOO much fun in a BG!).  I almost have all of her Season 10 honor gear now, so she may be doing arenas or RBGs soon. Most of my alts are low-level toons that I just play for a change of pace.  No dual-boxing or anything like that for me (Varishna, please pick Aprillian up off the floor now ;-)  I do have two accounts, but one of them is my son's, so I guess I could dual box if the urge ever struck me (and he wasn't playing at the time).  Maybe I'll have to get you pros to show me how some time.

Well, now that you've twisted my virtual arm and forced me to write in, maybe I could also put one of my ER toons into COD? :-) I think I have a few alts over there as well, and they are all Horde. They may have had a few um... bunny... ah.. accidents - yeah, that's it, accidents - in the past, but they can be good, I swear.  At any rate,it was very nice meeting you and all the folks in the CAW guild tonight and I am sure I will see you all in game again soon.

Cheers!
Grimsun
Proud member of <Ctrl Alt WoW> on Nevikhoof server, US.

P.S. Yes, folks, they are just as nice in game as they are on the podcast :-)

Altaholic and loving it

Hello CAW crew.

My name is Wren and I am a big fan of your show, I listen to you every week usually on my way to or from work. I'm a lifelong gamer and have been playing WoW since a week after launch. I must always moderate my play time as I have an addictive personality. I have Asperger's Syndrome (a form of high functioning autism) and love MMO's as they let me socialize with people on an even playing field as I tend to have issues recognizing changes in facial expressions or when someone has a "sarcastic tone", so the fact that most communication in guilds is done via typed chat makes me feel good.

I am an altaholic of a weird variety, not only do I love having many alts, but I especially love tanking or healing alts. I'm pretty fail dps, but have always been a good tank. I have many level 85 tanks alliance side on my home server and I recently started some horde side on earthen ring, becuase I'd love to join Clan of Darkness.

Generally speaking I am a fan of Heroics far more then raids these days, though I was an avid raider back in vanilla and burning crusade. I even got my wife addicted to the game as well. Shes almost as much of an altaholic these days as I am. Her "main" though is a Rogue, which I've always loved since it meant I had a DPSer I could trust to actually listen to me, and was actually good at Crowd control and Stopping casters.

I'll stop rambling on now and just say "Thank you" for entertaining me week after week, and hopefully you'll take me into CoD.

Greetings to the CAW Crew!

Hello CAW Crew!

Your wonderful podcast has been part of my regular listening rotation for over a year now. I have greatly enjoyed your good humor and sense of fun as you recount your adventures in and out of game, and I always look forward to all the audio submissions sent in by Juuno, Rigor Morty, Crashbang, Iceflow and Caoboi, and all your other contributors. It's quite a lovely little community you've got going!

I have been playing WoW for a couple of years now, with breaks here and there. I have a few 85s to my name, including a goblin rogue who mostly PVPs, a troll hunter, and a belf prot warrior. I started the warrior just before Cata hit -- because back then, nobody else seemed to be starting belf warriors, and I just had to be different. Whenever I tanked low level instances, I was always confuddling my fellow puggers. They saw a belf with a shield and automatically assumed I was a pally until I charged and thunderclapped, lol. Yes, I am easily amused. I also have a very cool troll frost mage sitting at 84, and a belf priest at 83. Funny, whenever I get a character up to high level, I seem to get this curious itch to start a new alt…hmmm…I wonder if you guys can relate…

I mostly have played solo, using the game as a way to sit down and relax after a long day. Lately, I've been wanting to get more social and find a nice in-game "home" with like-minded folks to chat and play with, so I started a tauren pally on Earthen Ring, in hopes I might be invited to join the ranks of Clan of Darkness. If all goes well, perhaps one or more of my 85s might make the journey over to Earthen Ring as well.

My pally's name is Anhwa. Sadly, I don't have a cool in-game "handle" like y'all do, so until I come up with one, I guess you can just call me by my RL first name.

Thanks so much!

Nina

P.S. Oh yeah -- For the Horde! And the Bunnies! …and the Alliance too, I guess ;)

weekly cooking tip

Sorry for the delay, I wasn't sure how well received my letters were and I had a little disagreement with a hurricane that turned into a tropical storm and then took my power away for 4 days.  But as long as you want more,  here you go.

Greetings CAW crew, and Virshna.

C.C. The Disgruntled Warlock here

The following recipe was especially prepared for Virshna. There were no bunnies used in this recipe.

1 LB Clefthoof Meat
1 LB Hearty Mammoth Meat
1 flask Rulkster's Secret Sauce
1 can kidney beans (with liquid)
1 can pinto beans (with liquid)
1 medium onion
2 green chili pepper
3 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 pinch Northern spices

 -   Brown the meat in a skillet over medium heat.
 -   Drain off the fat.
 -   In a large pot, combine the meat plus all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat.
 -   Cook, stirring every 15 minutes,  until done.

There ya go,  a really good and easy to make chili recipe that is " Virshna" friendly.

This recipe is great for parties and I like to serve it in special "Fluffy Bowls".  Here is how I make them.  Cut a rabbit in two and then use the bottom part.  I hollow it out like your scooping out the insides of a pumpkin.  Now you have a self standing "insulated" bowl that is both fancy and functional.  Just imagine the look on your friends faces when they see a tray full of these being served. If your wondering what to do with the heads, I like to make Bunny Salsa.  Pull off the ears for chips and puree the remaining head for salsa.  Last but not least, you should have some crackers on hand for the chili and personally I like to use a cheese grater to add some fresh bunny gratings on top.  If you want a Tiki party flare for your next party, try hollowing out some bunnies to make Polynesian looking mugs.  Fill with your favorite beverage and jam a straw in one eye and a little paper umbrella in the other.  Cheers!

P.S.  I was wondering what Virshna did with the bunny he "accidently" killed the other day?  Quick snack?  Just saying.

Hola, CAW Crew

Hey guys,

I know it's been a long time since we've been able to send in a submission. With the start of school, the start of "English Classes" for Kithore, and other looming responsibilities, we have found little time to do things like record. (Or rather, the main issue is the editing.) However, we are still alive, and we hope you all are doing well in and out of game.

As for me (Dreams), DKWhopper reached 85 two weekends ago, which I am very excited about. I've already opened up the Fireland dailies with her, and she's done a great job soloing them. I actually have a lot easier time of it with her than I do with my Paladin, despite the fact that my Paladin has been 85 a whole lot longer - it might be the higher DPS. Or the pet minion that changes names with every resurrection. Probably the minion.

I ran some awesome Battlegrounds with several of the guildies on Monday, which was a total blast. We're going to have to do that more often!

I also tried a few arenas on Tuesday. We died a ton, but it was a blast running through them with Claypidgin, Mohalen, and Alex. I'm hoping to actually get to the point where we might win a few, and maybe get a few more participants. I find it a little limiting, though, that you can only have one of each kind of team at a time. To start a new team, or to group with someone else, you have to drop the team you're on. Not fair. :-( Especially since everyone has such random playtimes - it'd be hard to get the whole group together at any one time. But we can try! I am very close to getting my entire set of Season 10 healing gear on Sarajean, and intend to go for the tanking gear next so I can last longer in those arenas and battlegrounds, and actually be of use to those I'm grouped with. Perhaps we will even attempt Rated Battlegrounds at some point! (Scary prospect.) I intend to gear both of my 85s for the PvP, so I'll have at least a couple options on what to play and who I can group with.

As for Kithore, Kithorina did her first heroic and it was lots of fun! He also started a new toon named Kithleen, who is a Shaman. She is already at level 14 after only playing for two days, so it'll be another quick rise to 85.

His English classes are going "good", and his estudiantes are quickly learning how to fully use the Kithore Method for Speaking English. Bad... er... good accents abound! His job is keeping him very, very busy, and so he is not able to be home, much less online. He says that things should calm down by June.

ANYWAY! This is getting kinda long... oh wait, this is an email, not our audio submissions. Sorry, I forgot for a moment.

We hope to see you guys around!

The Kithores

Hello CAW Crew

Hope this finds you all well, especially Jeppy - sending big hugs all round :)
Well I thought I'd quickly drop you a email as you're recording in a bit so I'd better hurry lol.
Was great to listen to you all live the other week - hopefully can make tonite's show.
I've been pretty busy ingame - been visiting both ER and Nevikhoof - made toons on both to (hopefully) come join both guilds but unfortunately haven't had anyone on when I've popped over :( will try again this week.
Been busy grinding Everlook rep on Leeta as it's the last Steamwheedle rep I need to get exalted as well as running The Battle of Mount Hyjal, Molten Core & Black Temple for rep and gear to use for mogging. I'm getting both the Felheart And Malefic Raiment gear ( at this stage) to hopefully have some fun with.
Few weeks ago I ran a guild fishing competition which was alot of fun and so many laughs in vent. A question I'd like to put to you all is - Do any of you have some fun guild event ideas as I'm looking for a few more things to spark and challenge my guildies?
Will be running another fishing comp in few weeks and was thinkin of doin a Lvl1 Naked Gnome Dash however any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)
Raiding isn't going too well - struggling with the Attendance Boss at the moment. I've noticed even server side that there seems to be alot less activity - Are you all finding less people playing at the moment?
Anyway I'd better go so I can get this sent.
Have an awesome week everyone.
Hugs Leeta

Rigarmorty CAW 232

Greetings Aprillian, Vrishna, Ashayo & Eljeppy!
Attached is my audio update for this week. I just wanted to take a second to say how great each of you really are! I was in a bit of a downer over a couple of things at the weekend and all I had to do was queue up CAW on my player and catch up with an episode and I was right as rain!
And now... on with my audio....
P.S., checking back at how many emails I sent through. My email only shows back to 200 but I'm sure it was a number of weeks before then. I know I started listening from episode 174 so it was probably around 190 when I started sending audios in so this is audio 42 lol
Cheers,
Rigarmorty

Thank you and some updating

Greetings to all the wonderful hosts of Ctrl Alt wow!
Aprillian, Virishna, Ashayo, and To a long lost Jeppy, I do hope you are well and hosting today.
First of all I would like to thank you for the Moonkin hatchling, I forgot that I had won one from so long ago, I will send a screen shot in the near future.
No as to what I have been doing, Blizzard had sent to all 3 of my accounts a free 7 days of play time, sadly I did not get as much use as I wanted to.
On my one of my accounts there is just one lonely Gnome mage named Kittie, green pigtails and all. I ended up playing her from 12 to 20, dinged 20 bought her riding skill then time was up. Most of her time was instancing and some daily quests along with a bunch of battle grounds, she is all decked out in heirloom gear so those levels came pretty fast. Because of the heirloom gear she has on and what is in her bank I will get her to a realm and account that has toons that can use all of it. I died alot in the BGs but all so fun playing frost.
As for my other 2 accts, they are mainly my kids accounts, most of my toons are on my daughters and Konajoe is on my sons. First thing i did was to log into every toon to make sure they were still in there guilds, nothing worse than being booted while you are away, all was good there. I then was happy to see that KonaJoe had 5000 honor points to spend, this makes up somewhat for the mess that Blizz caused right before the new arena season started. So new PvP shoulders, gloves, and neck piece were to be had. i spent a lot of time in Alerac Valley and finally got exalted with Stomepike, woot.
As for my other toons idid alittle of this a little of that but not really much of anything, logged in to Winterhoof a few times but alas not much going on, nobody at My warlock Kuahi
(Koo-I) level to run anything. mainly the kids had a bit of time to reconnect with some of there friends in WoW. I will be reactivating them before Brewfest, both Ian and Sydney are looking forward to the Wow holiday season. I have also had many a fierce battle with Ashayo in Ahnging with Friends, Fatbird.
Also I would like to add a little story to the question that was asked last week about best PvP memory. Mine comes from a time when Auberdine would always be getting attacked by somebody from the hoarde, and i would always rush there to its defense. On this particular instance My best friend and I Being at level 70 at the time came there to its defense he on his Warrior Blasted and My warrior Iczelion (ICK cell on) now known as KonaJace. we were surrounded and I was flagged they all jumped me and after a fierce battle I was dead, but with some help from lowbees questing there Blasted survived and they were either dead of Running scared, it was a blast. I miss some of the simpler times were there were no raids to do and not even knowing what a tank or dps was.
Well till next time
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!!!!
Kona and his many Alts

Clan of Darkness Guild invite

Good evening Aprillian, Ashayo, Vrishna and El jeppy. I've been listening to CtrlAltWow since Vrishna joined the cast.  I have enjoyed listening to all your adventures in Azeroth.    I started playing Wow about two and a half years ago simply by accident.  You see I've been a gamer all my life, all the way back to Pong.  I'm the father of three boys and it gets a little difficult to play games when the boys don't want to share the system with the old man.  My middle son played wow back in vanilla for a couple of months but lost interest so I  decided to give it a try.  Been playing ever since.  Of course the boys had to play what dad was, so they each got an account.  Didn't know about RAF back then, wished I would of.

Son 1 tried for awhile but has thus quit for other interests, now that he's 18.  They other two still play but not as much as me, I'm usually on every day. Evenings Pacific time zone. They  come back and play when I accomplish something they would like to do. It's a competition, at least between me and son 2.  He plays Horde and I play Alliance, and it gets better, I mainly play Gnomes.  Love the little buggers.  Battlegrounds are a blast when you know the enemy personally.  We compete on everything,  I was the first 60, 70, 80, and 85 in the house. I had the first drake, the cooler pets, the "Standing in the Fire" achievement.  I earned mine by flying directly at Deathwing, son 2 by being summoned by a guildmate after he left the area destroyed.  He got his by standing in a burning bush..  I now call him my little tree hugger.

I can't seem to get son 3 past his level 20 though.  That's how I got so many alt's.  He would create a new character and needed someone to play with him, he'd get up to between 15 and 20, then loose interest and give up and do it all over again.  At one time I had 28 characters over 5 realms.  I have purge some of them, sorry Aprillian.  There was to many and not enough time in my day.  I have 2 85's, several in the 50-60 range, some 30's, some 20's.  Mainly DPS, and a couple of healers, but I thought I would try tanking for a change.

You guys seem to have fun together so I thought I would roll a character on Earthen ring and join your family, eer I mean Guild.  It's time I see if my son is right and Horde is better.  So if you see Modents in game, please send me an invite.  He's a Tauren Paladin.  Sorry Vrishna, Blood Elfs just don't do it for me, and since I'll be making a Finger Print of him I think Tauren's look better.
