Hello once more to everyone at Ctrl-Alt-WoW! I hope you're all having a great week and had some nice surprises from Great-Father Winter and related quests. We've added Lumpy to our ever-growing list of pets, though he hasn't yet entered battle. Soon, though!

I'm sure you have a big show today with number 300 - CONGRATULATIONS - so I won't take up too much time with this email. I hope you enjoy the attached audio. Have a great week everyone, and I look forward to the new year!

Darn you guys !!

Good morning All
It has been at least a year since I wrote in last.  It was about a year ago I finally quit WOW.  I finally broke my addiction !!!  So I started playing Skyrim and once this got boring I got into GW2 and Trochlight 2.  And I thought for sure I was done with WOW for good.  So I uninstalled the game and all my mods back in early November and promptly began to heckle the few friends I had that were still playing WOW.
Then one day a few weeks ago I seen the CTL ALT WOW podcast in my Google Reader.   I have not listen in a long time, probably close to a year.  So I started to listen again to the last few casts.  And I’ll be damned if I did not suddenly find that I was being sucked back into WOW !  I thought I could fight it with GW2, but as the number of players drop off of that game, I found it harder and harder to do the events and skill point changes.
So here I find myself reloading WOW Monday and Tuesday and looking to go today to pick up Mists.  THANKS guys for rezzing my once conquered WOW addiction (you guys and Scott Johnson that is) !!!

Congrats on Episode 300 Aprillian :)

Love you guys

Episode 300 Special

Hi Aprillian, Eljeppy, Ashayo and Tedra!
Attached is the Ctrl Alt Wow Episode 300 special from me and Leeta and...

How long has it been?
Hey CAW crew,

I wanted to send an email to congratulate you all on your 300th
episode. Over the years you all have given me quite a bit of enjoyment
listening to all of your antics and meeting the wonderful contributors
to the show in and out of game. I don't really have anything to report
as I did let my WOW account lapse. I wasn't playing really at all
anymore so I figured I would take a break. It was a good few years and
I will remember my time in WoW very fondly.

For the horde. For the alliance and For getting back to real life.

Congrats again on the big three zero zero!

PS No Jeppy, you can't have my gold.
Submission for the week between the holidays!
Hello CAW Crew
Here are two audio segments  (Play the Sub300 one first, the Warchief one section)
Wren & Morgaine

300 episodes
Greetings CAW crew,
Happy Winter's Veil and congratulations on 300 episodes.  I just wanted to say that I eagerly await the new episode each week, and hope that there are 300 more to come.  Thank you for all the hard work that all the hosts and contributors do each and every week.  It is wonderful to hear from other players who are not focused solely on endgame, and who find charm in the beginning of the game still as well.
I haven't been able to play as much as I had been, as I have recently rejoined the ranks of the employed.  While it is a good thing to be working again, my time in game is much more limited. Still working on leveling my battle pets though.  I finally got Lumpy from the Greench, but continue to send my level 85's to attack him daily in the hopes of getting one more.

Best Wishes,

Susan aka Duvessae's player

Thank you thank you thank you ....I love you guys and haven't missed an episode since I started listening over 3 years ago.

Nevik of Nevikhoof, Nevik'ng your Nevik ???

Merry Christmas to you all and congratulations on your 300th episode. It is an amazing accomplishment and your dedication is unbelievable. If I hadn't discovered your podcast around July of 2010 I don't know if I would even be playing WoW any more. So thank you for all you do, it is very appreciated!

wanted to wish you a Happy 300th episode and hope everyone is having a great holiday season.
Thank you so much for all the great fun 299 episodes ago and many more to come.
Thank you for ready all my crazy emails too through the years.

Hello CaW crew Apprillian, Ashayo, El Jeppy and Tedra.

We hope all our guild friends had a splendid christmas holiday. Please find attached our audio submission for the much celebrated episode 300 Yay!!!!!

Well done caw crew, big smiles and hugs all round :)

Much love,
the Nekrobobs

And remember undead love is forever…..

Hello CtrlAltWoW crew,

with the 300th episode of CtrlAltWoW being recorded, i should finally send a e-mail to this great show!!
I listened to Realm Maintenance with the Interview you guys gave, and it was a epic one, long, longer, CtrlAltWow long, and i loved every minute of it.

I really don't know how to begin, this show reflects so much of my philosophy of playing WoW, having fun in the game, playing different toons, i.e. having
many alts, in my case 9 Lvl 85(+) toons and 2 Lvl 90 ones, so i really love the game.
I love the lore of it, that has been established over the years Warcraft exists and the community-aspect of the game, more so in the past, but thats part
of another discussion i guess.
Trying to focus on my Main-toon ( a Frost DK ) is hard, because it is so much fun, playing the different classes and roles the game has to offer.
I play mainly on the Norgannon EU server and i joined BoE guild Pant on Head in the summer ( winter in their parts of the world  ), because the way they
approch the game is so much like mine, having fun playing and hang out with friends and likeminded people.
Lately i have had some work-shedule issues, but i hope they will be resolved soon, so i can get back over there more often again.

Anyway, this podcast is so much for me, alll the people, that started listening and over time became ((semi)-regular) contributors to the podcast, the
friendships that formed because of that, and the community that formed around it.
When i started to listen the show, i loaded episodes onto my mp3 player and took them to work, listening to them, and ppll around me stoped and wondering
why i was laughing, if they only knew  .
April, i so much am happy that YOU got the crew you have with you, you guys cover the whole of the game (and the chatroom ), and you do it so so well
and it such a great fashion, that is one of the great aspects of the show, no eliteism and so nice.
Finally i would like to thank all the contributors over the years for your big part you play in making this great show as great as it is. I have not listened to all the
episodes yet, because some are not available for download, it simply will not start, but thats besides the point, no, you guys out there, you do contribute so
much to the show, it simply would not be as great as it is (no offence, April, Ashayo, ElJeppy and Thedrah) and you know it, but i thought it should be said.

So, to all of you, and to all the listerners, i hope you all had a merry christmas and i wish all of you guys, and girls, a happy new year and at least another
300 episodes of CtrlAltWoW

Grand Nagus

P.S.: I would like to send a special bunch of good wishes out to 2 people i don't know personally, but i have grown to care about, like all the people in this
community of listeners, LEETA - all my best wishes in this hard time to you and yours, and the same to PIXIEGIRL - i hope you get better soon, the dark
hours of the day are getting fewer now each day again, keep your head up and remember the people that love you.

Lets see what random things come out of my mouth today
Big G

Dearest CAW Sweeties,
Get ready coz it's mega awesome group huggles time... yay!!!
Congrats on 300 wonderful episodes! You all are awesome!
Now to mark this very special occasion I have done something completely crazy!
Yes I finally did it... In honor of Episode 300 I wrote... a Dig Song Parody!
However only you all can get me to do something as crazy as this :)
Now please remember I CANNOT sing!!
Yet I hope this makes you smile just a little!
Big thank you to BlackXanthas for his help!
Love you all
hugs Leeta

Wish I had more time for stories, congrats, and thanks, but I decides to take the time with my fabulous wife and awesome kids instead. Had some Greenchy fun, ran scenarios and dungeons with my boys, played My Little Pony with my daughter, and had the mixture of pride and humility when my son finally out DPSed me.

For the Alliance! A bit for the Horde.

For the family!

Sorry! Running behind again...sending 3rd pic and link after this so you're not waiting!  Love you!

What We've Been Doing:

Levelled Ashayo to 86 so I could quest in Krasarang Wilds to grind for motes of harmony. Wanted to make BoA Inscribed Crane Staff. Spent quite some hours getting the 50 motes to drop. It says on the item "This item starts a quest" I'm thinking Battered Hilt, so I did the quest... it destroys the staff.
Sha - nothing!
Finally killed Galleon. No loot
Cave dailies for Dominance Offensive suck for dual boxing! Honored with Dominance Offensive. Nice ring upgrade.
Winter's Veil. Do daily - 29JP. Got Lump of Coal pet on Ashayo first day
Used Justice points to upgrade head and main hand weapon. Now i479. Then remembered head was what I was aiming to upgrade with valor

Stuff WoW related

Hi my lovely huggable CAW crew! Caoboi and I have been playing Mists every single day. That's how I know I love it way more than Cataclysm.

Our daily routine is to get on, take care of our farms and do the dailies in Halfhill. Even though we are exalted with the Tiller's, it makes good money.

We've changed the dailies we've been doing as we've been reaching revered/exalted but the current daily rotation after Halfhill is Domination Point, August Celestials, and Golden Lotus. We make crazy amounts of money doing this.

And we really need the money because Cao and I are on a quest to get both of us all five flying panthers. If you didn't know, you have to buy a 20,000 gold item from a vendor to make each panther. All the mounts for both of us are going to cost 320,000 gold. 20,000 for each of the four panthers. And then make the four panthers into a mega panther. And then get the four panthers again. For both of us. Yea, we're pretty crazy. We're getting close to the first panther and we'll keep you updated.

We are still doing LFR. Our gear scores are around 477 but we still haven't found a raid group. I'm itching to raid with a group but I'm picky. I want them to be fun, competent, and be willing to accept Cao and I as a couple. It's harder than it sounds!

Cao and I got the Higher Learning Achievement! And we did it all in one day, if you can believe it. We did a lot of traveling to Dalaran every couple of hours to check on those books. There is no way I'm doing that on another toon. But if anybody wants to do it, get the addons Higher Learning and Dalaran University that will help you with your time management.

My solo time in WoW is spent doing one thing and one thing only. Pet battling! As I've said previously, my goal is to go around to every zone starting with the lowest, getting all the pets I don't have for that particular zone. I have to get a common, uncommon, and rare of each kind. Some zones go faster than others. I spent a couple days in Teldrassil trying to find that one I needed. You all can think I'm bonkers if you like. I'm sure a lot of people do.

Phew...I feel sorry for whoever had to read that huge tome of an update. I hope you all are doing amazing! Next time I write, Iceflow may have changed from small and green to curvy and furry. Maybe ;)

Love you all to bits,

Ice and Cao

Guildie achievements.

Hey Aprillian,
Hey I always like to contribute with audio or email to the show and sometimes I just don't have much to say. So I was wondering if I could do a little segment in an audio that gives a small shout out to guildie achievements. Like those that hit 80 or level of significance, lore master, etc. I can pick those up right off my mobile app. and keep a tab till a daily deadline then send em in an audio. I don't have to be in any official capacity or anything and I would completely understand if you say no to my inquiry with no questions asked. In fact I could send you a test audio on Monday if you'd like. I figured that would be a good day cause most people do their majority on the weekend. Let me know.
Thanks, Donnie

Rigarmorty CAW 299 Audio Update
Hi Caw Crew!

Attached is an audio. Yes, can you believe it? Anyway, I had to speak quietly at my dungeon desk and didn't have a lot to report but it's something at least! Can't wait for EP 300!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Introduction and thanks

Hey Caw Crew!

I'm new to the podcast community and Ctrl Alt WoW is number one on my Stitcher list.  I discovered you about the same time that MoP launched and have been wanting to contribute, and with the Winter Veil and indeed Christmas season upon us, I thought I would thank you for the gift you have given me.  Sorry if I'm kind of verbose, but once I get going it's hard to stop.

My WoW career began about halfway through BC and while I wanted to be a good player, there was just so much to discover and experiment with that I did almost everything wrong (or so I thought).  I rolled a bad race/class combination, gave him a really bad name and picked the wrong primary professions.  I had fun questing though, and eventually joined a fun but drama-filled guild and made a few good friends I still have today.  Toward the end of BC my son's mother started acting erraticly due to a previously unknown mental disorder and I was forced to assume sole custody for his safety.  I also had to quit WoW because I didn't know how to juggle work, my new single dad status and WoW.  I actually quit the night before WotLK went live, but I had single handedly saved the isle of Quel Danas, so all was good.  I didn't buy the title though,
because 1000 gold was considered a gold sink back in the day.
Later that year my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and due to my mother's limited mobility I moved back in with my parents to provide assistance and what little medical care I could offer.  I re-subbed near the end of Lich King and found a happy medium with my family and game time, playing mostly after the kids went to bed.  I started making an effort to excel and eventually became a pretty well respected hunter on my server, stupid though my name still was.  As my father began to decline further, my mother began to have heart issues combined with COPD (emphysema) and though her mind was strong, her physical health began to decline to the point where I became responsible for everything.  I was excited to be a part of the Cataclysm launch as it was my first time logging in at the beginning of an expansion.  I maxed my characters (at the time four 85's and one 80) and started looking forward to heroics.  As it turned out, the PUG's I had to run to get geared for end-game content were so brutal it started ruining my enjoyment of the game.  After about nine months of Cata, I was out again.  In April of 2010 my dad was mercifully released from his earthly torment and it was just me, my kids and my mom, who was still declining steadily.
We live in a small town with a small tourism industry, but no real jobs.  In order to be available for any family
emergencies I eventually had to leave my primary job (50 miles away) to take an unskilled job in town, effectively cutting my income by two thirds.  It was jarring and depressing, but it was necessary for my family's emotional stability.  I was able to pick up some of the slack by working odd jobs and performing with my band, which has been playing the local circuit for about fifteen years.
So we end up in September of 2012 and I'm officially old, my kids are growing, my Mom is getting closer to "home" as she likes to call it.  I haven't been on a date in six years and scarily it doesn't bother me.  I buy the digital download of MoP and start looking for something to listen to at my very solitary and lonely job when I type "wow" into my stitcher search box.  I clicked on Ctrl Alt WoW and was introduced to my new friends I've never met.  I learned a few helpful hints, but what I enjoyed was the witty back-and-forth and the different personalities.  Aprillian--and I mean this with the utmost respect and affection--is like a cross between Lorewalker Cho and Li Li.  Wise, yet playful and childlike.  Jeppy is always seamlessly weaving witty and pertinent commentary into the conversation.  Ashayo is a total pro but doesn't feel the
need to broadcast it.  What a great voice, too!  Not necessarily the accent, but the timbre and resonance too!  If you're not doing VO work, brother, you should be.  Compared to you, Ashayo, Russel Crowe can suck it!. Last but not least is Tedrah, tending to the chat room in the background, but tying the whole show together. My point, however, is this:  Since becoming caretaker for my family, Wow has been both my entertainment and primary social outlet.  As central as it has been to my sanity, however, it pales in comparison to discovering your podcast.  Your show makes me smile, and outside of watching my kids grow, smiles are a very limited commodity for me.  This will most likely be my mother's last Christmas and it's going to be a little light for my kids gift-wise, but Ctrl Alt WoW has vastly improved at least two hours of my life every week and gives me something to look forward to, and that means a lot to me, considering
my mostly solitary existence.
Please know that even though you may feel you're just having fun doing something you love to do, you never really know the scope of your influence until someone tells you.  So thank you for the "gift" of your podcast.  I look forward to listening to several hundred more episodes.

Merry Christmas and Happy Winter Veil

Big Steve

PS:  It is very late here and I'm very tired (which I always am) so I know it's not very well written, so don't feel compelled to share it on-air unless you want to put your listeners to sleep, lol.

I am Blood Elf
An enthusiastic hello to everyone at Ctrl-Alt-WoW!  Another week, another battle pet.  A few rares have escaped my grasp along the way, either by dying before I could capture them (okay, sometimes I get carried away and forget to throw the trap), or by killing my pets first. The nerve!

I hope you enjoy the attached audio from Voltandra, who has become a bit reflective with all the holidays, mistletoe and snowballs.  Have a great week, and a hearty thank you to you, our gracious and entertaining hosts, for all the work you do on this great podcast!

  • Got 2 of the BoA Lost and Found items (neck and staff) in 5 minutes. Great for Ashayo
  • Jekle
    • Sha of Anger of Jekle ; got my boots. (With Caoiboi and Iceflow!)
    • Healed my first heroic on Jekle - Scarlet Monastery ; went quite well. Shoulder and glove upgrade.
    • Realised I had 4000 justice points on Jekle and Anomander to buy gear with at 90! wrist and leg upgrades. Jekle 457 - almost LFR ready
  • Ashayo
    • Pet battles! started again coz want' using rares
  • Asharmin
    • Exalted with Klaxxi
      • Stay Klaxxi - use all the buffs
      • Klaxxi - exalted
      • Wakener (Title)
      • 5 exalted reps - clearly didn't play much before Mists
      • Best of all - new dagger upgrade - for gold, not valor!
      • Another very good quest chain at the end explaining Klaxxi lore ; with a nice ring upgrade.
    • What’s waiting to be bought
      • shado-pan - 489 helm - 2250
      • shado-pan - 489 trinket - 1750
      • August Celestials - 489 gloves - 1750
      • August Celestials - 489 boots -  1750
    • Terrace of Endless Springs - used roll - won ring! Not an upgrade. boo!

Dude NOOOO you dont want to buy the valor rewards from the
quartermasters and you do not have to grind rep with any faction -
save for the extra rolls on LFR loot.

Valor is to upgrade other items and if not that .. it doesnt take
anything to get into LFR or get into the 470 range from upgrading
heroic drops with jp and - if you look at the

progression of gear it goes above the valor gear (heart of fear) from
the quartermasters and so Ive heard it would be a huge waste to spend
valor on the quartermasters.

Heroics -> LFR -> normal mode Raiding. - if you saved valor to raid
you would never get there.  I hope this isn't too convoluted.

Voltandra (audio)
Hello again to everyone at Ctrl-Alt-WoW!  The Feast of Winter Veil will be here this coming weekend, and Voltandra's checking her inventory and making her preparations.

As for other activities, we've found ourselves stymied by the Pandaren Battle Pet Trainers, particularly Hyuna of the Shrines. I've had to go back and work on training up pets of other classes. I had previously tailored my 25's to defeat the Master Tamer in Northrend, but those same pets won't do the job in Pandaria.  So it may take a while, but we shall be victorious!!

I hope you enjoy the attached audio. I'm taking some vacation at the end of the month, so perhaps I'll be able to wake up and join the chat room for a couple of sessions. If not, I'll just look forward to hearing the finished, fabulous podcast.

Have a great week, everyone!!

-Voltandra's Player

It's been a weird couple of weeks for me! My work schedule recently changed! I now work days instead of nights! Why am I telling you this I hear you ask? Well the reason I decided to play WoW on the US servers was because when I started working nights I found that that when I played on my home EU servers there was very few people online. Now I guess I will have the same problem on the US servers. As a result I have decided to shut down my US WoW account, at least for the time being. I doubt I will be quitting WoW altogether however, as I just recently started dual-boxing again and was having a blast doing so. I made a youtube video of me dual-boxing two hunters, I hope you will let me know what you think.

I wanted to comment on the mumble server that I purchased for the guild to use, so far I don't think anyone has used it! ;( The subscription is paid up till around the start of January I think but if people don't start using it by then I think I'm going to let it go. I will admit to being a little sad that people haven't taken to it but hey guess that's how it goes. If you are using it or are interested in it let me know by email or twitter and I will keep up the subscription otherwise I think that money could be better spent on a donation.

Not much else to say other than looking forward to the next podcast and I hope Jeppy feels better!

Hello wonderful CaW crew- Apprillian, Ashayo, El Sleepy… er El Jeppy and Tedra.

Its been a relaxing week in wow for the Nekrobobs, a little planting, a little fishing and a little Darkmoon Fair going. Along with that I've been amassing a ton of cooking ingredients for the auction house trying to get 180,000 gold for my sexy engineering flying mounts.
Yes I know its going to take a long time to gather that much gold, but I believe slow and steady will win the race. So in about 10 years I should have almost half the money to build those ridiculously expensive rockets.

I noticed, wile farming wildfowl breast that a lot of green gear was dropping, which explains why those stupid birds are so hard to kill, their gear score is higher than mine.

So along with a mass of food and ore I've also got a great pile of green gear to sell or to disenchant and sell, (which one should I do Jeppy, oh master of the auction house)

Since we've become exalted with the tillers our next target is Nat Pegle and the anglers. They seem to have a lot of fun silly stuff including ridable mosquitoes, a raft and a cool fishing chair. We'll keep you posted as to our progress.

Thats all for now fellow guildies

Big hugs and big thanks for your delightful podcast we truly appreciate all the effort and hard work you put into your amazing show.

Much love from the Nekrobobs,

and remember undead love is forever…
