Episode 76 - Spirit of Competition
What We've Been Doing
Primall got tricked into getting kicked out of WSG.
Got kicked out of BG by a stupid trick[22:47:18] Beekeeper-Llane has reported you as AFK! If this is a false report, type /AFK in the next 15 seconds.Greetings April,
Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.
This is a trick that players sometimes like to play on others using emotes to make it appear you have been reported AFK, typing /afk followed by anything will cause you to remove yourself from the match : /
We are very sorry that you have experienced this. Please keep in mind that system messages are in yellow. If you have any further questions or concerns, however, please feel free to petition a GM when you next log in.
We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

Most of Mond spent multi-boxing and BG running. Did a WSG with Auntrillian, won and got the dragon, woohoo. Before I went though, I had to go to the AH. She hasn't really been doing quests in outland and a lot of her gear was pre BC
While Auntrillia was at the AH and in queue, I had one of my new warlocks Suyna, with the linked account started with Primall the level 8, and Suyna was 7. Did the same while Ardrion was in Bg, only playing the two while
After 3 BG's, Ardrion got a dragon
By Thursday night both Primall and Suyna were 13
Spent day after day after day in WSG with Aprillian and finally got one on Friday morning. I immediately fed it a pet biscuit and watched it grow. I found a simple strategy for BG. If you are on one side with the flag, stay and defend. If you are on the other side clear and distract for the flag grabber and then follow the flag carrier and distract and clear.
And then I went to the Neutral AH to restck my aly alt
Found some iPhone Apps for Warcraft,
Sat, made a human warlock
Sunday morning, discovered the possiblities of seeding other realms.
Then decided to transfer Iwari, my level 47 Warlock to my new account so I can level her with Aprillian. I just want her to get to 50 so she can get Engineering pass 300. A higher level Engineer would be helpful. Aprillian had one quest left in Silthius, and she had a primal mooncloth cd, so she rode to Silthius and summond Iwari. Aprillian had to downgrade to her felsteed. Good think they are making all mounts summonable
Ran out of snakes on my alli alt, had to do a quick transfer oh and I brought over a bunch of primals. I also bought mats for primal might for Treshel. Might do that on a regular basis to accumulate some primal might
Got my charter signed for my alliance guild "Animal Kingdom", running around SW offering 1g to sign. Debating on moving money over to get gbank or waiting until Tay makes 100g, she has 44g right now.
Silthius was too much for Iwari, and I remembered she hadn't done her Abyss thing quest so I went to take her to Felwood and she had none of the fp's, poor thing, she'd been so neglected. Did a /played 29 days total, 8 hours at 47.Ashayo
All the Scryer signets and arcane tomes that Ashield and Asheal got while getting SSO rep was sent to Jekle, and he finally hit Exalted with Scryer, despite not questing in Shadowmoon Valley at all.
Quite a good help in healing since Jekle's neckpiece benefits Scryer exalted status.
Triple Gruul's Lair run!
Ashayo with DwP raid group - 1st kill for that group
Jekle with Grupper raid group - 3rd week running
Asheal with Nightlife - A well geared group, so didn't matterc
Dualboxed Molten Core with Jekle and Hiide. Had to get Jekle attuned first - soloed in about 3 minutes!
MC was lots of fun, despite some spoilers that joined from trade chat
Levelling shaman. Realised I'd definitely need a totem mod, since all my bars were basically full at level 28.
Trying out LunarSphere: http://moongazeaddons.proboards79.com/index.cgi?board=lunarsphere&action=display&thread=247
It's not just a totem mod, the 10 wheels around the hub can hold just about anything.
Includes other features like
- Auto restock reagents, auto sell junk, auto repair, get auction mail money
- Scripts for RP style speech on actions such as mounting, rezzing
- Options to disable various standard UI sections
- Memory dump of all mod usage, and other debugging.
Winterspring alt - insta-hearthed while playing with AI :(
Zombie alive at GY in Elwynn Forest? Had to fight my way back to the fountain!
Decided to try to complete every quest in Stranglethorn Vale. Currently 42, and still got quite a lot of quests to go. Fixed low drop rate quests?
Ashield filled in as tank in Karazahn ; now he doesn't even have the key, but does have his T4 helm of Prince!EmailEmail 1
Hey guys... Blade here...
As promised, here's the nitty-gritty on how to catch Mr. Pinchy... I'll even try to keep it short lol
Mr. Pinchy is only found in pools called "Highland Mixed School".
These pools are ONLY found in Terokkar Forest... and ONLY in three specific lakes... all of which can only be reached by flying mount (or by warlock summon).
- Lake Jorune (above Stonebreaker Hold),
- Lake Ere'Noru (above Allerian Stronghold), and
- Blackwind Lake (near Skettis)
As a note, the first two are usually referred to as 'cherry picking' lakes, as there are no mobs in them... so they're very safe to park alts at and subsequently are the most frequently fished.
The Blackwind Lake location is the one with the water elementals, the Skettis Skyguard rep quests and the huge elite tree wandering around. Due to the fact that there's more 'risk' involved in fishing this lake, there's a corresponding greater number of Highland pools that can spawn.
Now... before you leave on your mega-fishing adventure, Ashayo... there's a few things you need to know...
To have a chance at successfully fishing the Highland Mixed Schools and catching the rarest of rare drops, Mr. Pinchy, you will have to have a fishing skill of AT LEAST 405.
That's the bare minimum... and as the skill of fishing caps at 375 currently, you will have to gear up with special items and equip special fishing lures on your fishing pole in order to achieve this skill level.
I'll leave the details of how you add skills to your fishing up to you, or maybe put them into an upcoming email... suffice to say... at least 405 is required to attempt to catch any fish out of fthe Highland pools... and *500+* is required to prevent any fish from 'getting away'.
(As an aside... this was previously nerfed from 430 minimum and 525 respectively)
Also... the pools seem to be on a timer and do not often spawn for upwards of 2 hours at any given location... so you may have competition once a pool spawns.
In addition... as if all this wasn't enough of a deterrent... good ol' Mr. Pinchy is rumored to have a drop rate around 0.2%.
That's two out of every thousand casts... presuming you successfully fish something out of every cast.
So be prepared to be there a while.
If you DO manage to catch Mr. Pinchy, be aware that he is Bind on Pickup and will grant you three wishes, with a two day "cooldown" between wishes. The description reads:
"Use: Speak with Mr. Pinchy and be granted a Wish! Maybe something good...maybe something bad...Mr. Pinchy does not know!"
Using Mr. Pinchy triggers the spell cast "Make a Wish".
The Make a Wish spell will have a variable result. It could:
- Summon a non-elite guardian (Benevolent Mr. Pinchy) that assists you in battle for 10 minutes.
- Bestow a gift box with up to 5 Super Healing Potions
and 5 Super Mana Potions
- Bestow a Magical Crawdad Box
containing a Magical Crawdad non-combat pet
- Grant "Mr. Pinchy's Blessing" which increases your health by 500. The buff persists through death and is considered a flask with a 2 hour duration.
Or... you MIGHT make Mr. Pinchy ANGRY! Which will spawn Furious Mr. Pinchy... a non-elite that attacks you!
Furious Mr. Pinchy has around 5560 health and is easily killed... plus... his corpse cannot be looted.
I managed to catch him once... and got the 500 health buff twice followed by an Angry Mr. Pinchy... so it seems to be random as to what you might get from any given wish...
Hope that helps! Good luck on your quest to catch Mr. Pinchy!
As an extra little easter egg... Ever see the movie 'Fight Club'?
Worry not, the two main characters of the movie survived the undead plague!
Head to the Undercity... specifically to the War Quarter. There you should find a group of fighters... two of whom are named Edward and Tyler.
Cheers for an awesome podcast guys!

i am new to dual boxing and so far have run it on 2 laptops.
i would like to run it on my dell xps, i have tried it and so far i have been able to do it.
the problem is that it would be nice to have an addon or maybe macros so i dont have to keep switching screens but so far i have had 0 luck finding either one.
Hello again Aprillian and Ashayo, I have a nice long email for ya this week.
Ashayo, on the topic of whether you should buy your two epic mounts I have to say yes. Although you may think 10k gold at this point in time is a lot, it opens up the Netherwing quests. Although these quests are sometimes boring, trivial, and long, they also provide a huge income for you if you continue to do them. This also allows you to buy the next mount skill in the expansion.
On the topic of how to prepare for the next expansion, I have been doing three things. 1. Storing money for the next mount skill, I currently do the Netherwing dailies everyday as well as the shattered sun offensive island dailies on three characters every day and have managed to amass over 40,000 gold, I have 3 characters to pay for WOTLK gear and mounts lol. 2. I am storing herbs. The new profession has been confirmed to go with herbalism. For this reason you will see tons of people not wanting to go gather low level herbs. I have been buying herbs cheap as well as gathering some of my own these will then sell for a good profit when the expansion comes out. 3. I have been building supplies of plate gear and mats to make plate gear for 60+ for all of the people who will be playing death knights.
On other news, I have in fact converted to the dark side. This week a large group of my friends from my alliance guild have joined me in rerolling horde. We started a guild on the Lothar server called "We Just Rerolled Horde". And seeing the need in our guild for another healer, I created another horde character. This time it is a Tauren Druid. He is currently level 21 and is leveling quickly. My goal with him is to hit exalted with Orgrimmar before level 60. We all have decided that with the release of the expansion in the near future we would prefer to stop raiding, level horde characters, and PVP with them because of the fact that horde is a lot better at PVP in our battlegroup. Now I would like to say:
FOR THE HORDE!
The addon I have for this week is called outfitter. It allows you to create many different preset outfits for your character and switch between them with the click of a button. No more digging through your bags for gear when you want to go do some PVP, or when you want to tank an instance. You can also have outfits which automatically equip based on events like changing stances, stealthing mounting up, or entering a battleground. It can be found here http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info5467-Outfitter.html. It is great for those of us who play druids or any other class needing to carry multiple sets of armor.
Vallk: 21 Tauren Druid
Thayloo- 70 Mage
Triaa- 70 Warlock
If you have any questions you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
For anyone who may want some of the past addons I have recommended here is the list:
