Weekly sprout video: IMPORTANT Blue Unlock Quests in FFXIV.

Only four more days until the early access for FFXIV: Endwalker.

I’ve reached the FFXIV: Shadowbringers expansion, that’s 5.0 in the build numbering. People telling us that Shadowbringers is the best expansion. Yeah, within the first quest I saw why that is. 

You know when you don’t know anything about something and you only have the title to go by? I’m like that with Shadowbringers. I've avoided almost all spoilers, other than some screenshots, or pictures of characters involved, knowing nothing, thankfully, about the story, and it took me somewhere totally unexpected from what I fantasized it could be, and I LOVE it.

The story is so cool and unexpected, going that route is so cool.

I’m four zones into the expansion, with one totally explored and flight unlocked, two more zones abandoned to go elsewhere for the time being, to eventually return later, and into the fourth just started that one.

All the feels hit me in the early game, and the conclusion of the specific story has to be played out in a dungeon that you can do solo with NPCs as party members with this newly introduced feature called the TRUST system, where you have some NPCs in a UI window that you can make up your party with your toon plus 3 NPCs or less if you are in a party playing together just fill up the party with NPCs.

NEWS:

I misunderstood the connection of the purpose of Zereth Mortis, it’s not the creator of Azeroth, it’s created by the creators of Azeroth and it creates afterlives, so no, Azeroth is not an afterlife, I just didn’t read the text right. The First Ones created Azeroth like they created Zereth Mortis and it then created the afterlives we now walk in.


Activision Blizzard and the Wall Street Journal:

The Wall Street Journal said:

In August, Activision named a longtime employee, Jennifer Oneal, to be Blizzard’s co-head, making her the first woman to lead one of the company’s business units. The following month, she sent an email to a member of Activision’s legal team in which she professed a lack of faith in Activision’s leadership to turn the culture around, saying “it was clear that the company would never prioritize our people the right way.”


Ms. Oneal said in the email she had been sexually harassed earlier in her career at Activision, and that she was paid less than her male counterpart at the helm of Blizzard, and wanted to discuss her resignation. “I have been tokenized, marginalized, and discriminated against,” wrote Ms. Oneal, who is Asian-American and gay.




Also, it looks like the employee letter Fran Tounsend sent out some month ago, wasn’t written by her, but rather by Bobby Kotick himself and Tounsend just hit send on her email app.


One reason to not fire Bobby would be the $300+ he gets if he’s fired without cause.


Reaction from PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan. That might be the first sign of ABK being forced to do something about the situation, cause it’s not good for them to lose access to the PlayStation platform for their CoD games.


GMT and DST:

FFXIV uses GMT in their announcements for time relevant content and statements.

Blizzard uses P(D/S)T for theirs.

There is a difference, an important difference.

Any timezone OTHER THAN GMT might be changing due to DST.

There are countries and territories that don’t use DST, yes, but generally many, if not most, do.

GMT however never changes! I believe that is why the UK came up with BST, bringing the UK to UCT+1 (UCT is the technical Coordinated Universal Time that never changes either).

Why do I bring this up? Ahhh ocean fishing in FFXIV! Since the ingame calendar runs on GMT, at least that what i’ve gathered from all of this, at least the event relevant time, the boat to go ocean fishing leaves on the other hour now, where, for me in the EU being on CEST now, the boat left on even hours in DST, it now leaves at odd hours, being that the time in game didn’t change, it just did so IRL.

My Miqo’te is level 76 now, so only 4 more levels to go to reach max level of 80.

Finished the 4.0 MSQ and am now starting on the patch content of STORMBLOOD.



I would like to give new players aka SPROUTS in FFXIV some help over the next few weeks.

I myself have found some YouTube videos from different content creators helpful for getting into the game and I would like to share some of them on a weekly basis.

The first week you’ll get two, both, as many of them will be, by ZeplaHQ.

The first one is about 9 Things EVERY New FFXIV Player Should Know!. It is 2 years old, but it hasn’t lost any of its relevance.

The second one is about Mistakes New Players Make in FFXIV.
