No Man’s Sky
Tuesday
I decided to make it up to the Sage so I got on Aprillian And did some missions. She had just done the First two phases and hadn’t started on phase 3. I found out that you cannot get the quest for the missions from the expedition panel until you go to the anomaly and do each type of quest from the Prismatic Core. Then once you’ve done that you can use the exhibition tab and then track swamp activity and get the missions from there. I was watching to Captain Steve’s YouTube video and he talked about how he likes playing in VR but he doesn’t like the fight controls. It seems like he’s playing either on Xbox or something but he’s using a game pad. It’s funny I have the opposite feeling. I love the controls of the ship in VR because I feel like my hands are actually doing the flying. My right hand is controlling the movement front or back or side the side and my left hand is increasing or decreasing the speed. They did a really good job of bringing this game into VR.
Wednesday
I got on April Pvd, and she joined Epril at the anomaly so that Epril could give her some cargobulkhead and salvage freight modules for her freighter. When she got back to the freighter, she ended up duping some items, including the Atlas pass so that everyone could have one. I like getting free stuff.
April Pvd upgraded her freighter And actually purchased an And actually purchased a different color for her freighter only to find out the only paint you can use is the paint associated with your faction. So then she did some missions. Since the supply train one was phosphorus, I duplicated some and gave it to Epril So she could turn that one in as well and on the flatscreen, but then I logged off of April Pvd, and got on Epril
April Pvd to try to get a portal because so many people in the expedition are sporting Sentinel shipped. They are cute and sporty, but you have to have a portal to get to them so I went through all the steps with April Pvd using a planetary chart. Finally, she got a portal, but then when I went to activate it, it needed copper or quartz or some other minerals. I didn’t have so I went out and farmed copper after putting a base as close as close to the portal as I could get, but when I finally got the copper after running a mission on April Pvd on the flatscreen while recording another podcast, I realizing I couldn’t use the portal anyways cause I don’t have any glyphs so how are these people getting the fancy cars I mean ships on the expedition? It was still fun though I like trying new things. VR.
Thursday
I hop on Epril and decided her upgrade her dire wasp multitool by switching to her main save. This is a lot of work, but it’s really worth it so what I have to do is just if you switch to your main save you can then make a copy of your whatever multitool was your main multitool in the expedition so now I can go to the terminal at the other console at the anomaly by my multitool from that with using some Nanis now the model you get in the expedition is an a class so I had to do all the things you need to do to make it a NS class so I I duped some of my suspicious packages and then turned around and sold them for nine nights. It was a lot to do and then I also had to go in and do the augment updates or upgrades for the multitool because I had taken some of those with me into the expedition and so it was a lot of work going back-and-forth doing that and then I also had to go into my other multitool and pull out some of the tech techno, modules tech modules, you know like really good scanner modules, the upgraded mining additions, and some of the weapons so that I could use those to upgrade my the Dyer wasp multitool say that three times real fast, but it was worth it because when I after I upgraded everything and I I went through a lot of trouble. I would’ve actually went back to April‘s home on the east side, which I really love and she was able to get all the things she needed upgrade everything go back to a space station upgrade the the multitool, and then bring that multitool back when she went back to the anomaly switch back to the to the expedition the only thing she had to do first was destroy the a class by wasp multitool, and then go back to the console and buy the upgraded one which was kind of neat. It seems complicated and a lot of trouble, but I enjoy all the intricacies of doing things like that so that’s what I did on Thursday Thursday

Saturday
Hopped on a Aprillian On her freighter, she had a marker for one of the guys that gives you a glyph. She invited Apple Pvd to join her so she could get the glyph.
AprilPvd started doing her missions for the Weavers. But she saw a freighter and I have to admit I can’t resist freighter so she hopped on and it was an A class which is the same as her current freighter. So Epril joined her game. But when Epril looked at it, It was a B class. But that was OK because April did not have a Freighter. Epril Went back to her ship got out of it to make a save and then logged off. April Pvd found herself back in her ship in space with no sign of the freighter. That was interesting.
Then AprilPvd went on to complete the missions, but she had just finished one and went to see if there was another one available and the clock had ticked over and she now had three fresh missions to do.
April has a B class fighter all right let’s see what happens when she joins Sebastian before I do I needed to turn her sound down because the videos she’s going to join him on the freighter that he was looking at that’s an a class freighter, but he already has an a class freighter. But the other day I had two players get on and they both saw the freighter as two different freighters so this should be interesting. She’s in the bay now it is OK she she doesn’t have transport all she has in platinum so she can go and trade for this one although I don’t know let me have her just go ahead and pull out her afraid of and then look at it because sometimes she do things to you afraid of or afraid of has a different atmosphere that we like so she’s going to bring out her fighter too close getting away from a little bit. She’s just gonna see what she has on her freighter she wants to go back to the fight about Sebastian April had a B class, but Sebastian found an a class. The first thing I wanna do is empty out. The biggest thing is trying to figure out and remember what the layout was so that she knows if she wants to keep it or not. You know each Frier has a specific layout with rooms and sometimes interesting. OK like this one has two geraniums that’s basically what it has two titanium and a side of a room where you can plant stuff so now she’s gonna get back in her depending on what this ship that Sebastian has found has and that’s another interesting thing that happens is that the makeup will be different so first I’m gonna get back on Sebastian so funny both of their moving ships she’s gonna get upstairs take a look now she hasn’t done any expansions. Her biggest thing is what does this place have one of those trophy things that has a couple of frost plants it’s about it so I think she’s gotta keep her base because she liked those terrane out of curiosity it to me the same. I’m gonna let her buy it. We’ll see the interesting thing happens. She buys it. She is gonna transfer. She is gonna transfer the base class base she needs to know you’re not saved so she needs to get in in multiplayer. She needs to get in and out of her shit. I’m here. Where am I? I’m here. This is Dan. The last time I took this she went back to First came back in space that’s all I wanted to do this mission then I’m going to log off after this one mission and get on. It’s funny when it’s behind another corrupted.

Wednesday
I’m on Aprillian and we are doing purge: exterminator and we’ve landed on a nice bubble planet. I want to do more sage missions. She completed all of her missions and now she’s gonna go try to find a pirate freighter by doing a bunch of jumps Also stopping in at space stations to suck up to the merchant guild and get free stuff and look for one of the guys that can give me glyphs.
Ended up looking at freighters and chose the one that had the aquarium. OK Epril is now heading to start a mission. She’s royal and says four minutes to finish this mission the bubble planet. I divert the power to the engine. Then I realize she had the echo locator so we tried to find a living frigate, but mostly just encountered sentinels so she ended up Going up after one of them.
Thursday
I became obsessed with the echo locators and decided that I wanted everybody to have one and I was just really want to see if I can get a living frigate so I logged into April who had it and she was on the flatscreen and I’d have to tell you I did the recording from the flatscreen using the game mode and I’ll put a screenshot in the show notes. It is absolutely beautiful. It’s one of the few things that I really adore about the flatscreen, especially the third person view that you can get which of course you cannot do on VR. I just wouldn’t translate well, but when I do have one of my characters on the flatscreen, I love recording it. April Pvd ended up joining E where she was on the planet next to the sentinel Ship that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to pick up yet I didn’t like the format of that ship, but I did want to try two things. I wanted to try on Apple Pvd as far as trying to get the living frigate, but I also thought about trying it on a brilliant because she was logged into my account on my laptop that I can sit down in front of, and it’s easier to constantly pulse with the laptop then being in NVR it’s just really kind of boring in VR so I grabbed 50 of the echo locators from Epril. I got an idea to check out what was going on what else I could get from the Quicksilver vendor and I realized that since I had the frigate, I had the freighter I could now get the Normandy Frayer along with a bunch of other decorations from the Quicksilver vendor so I hopped over there and I did that and it turned out to be really cool because when I went back to my Freighter, there was the Normandy Frigate.
Friday
I got on a Aprillian again because I wanted to know do this stage missions because I’m trying to represent for Sage but the first thing I did was try the echo locator and she went to look at a sentinel ship but she did encounter a void egg, which if you blow them up and you’re on a living ship, you get one of the techno modules for the living ships, which is kind of neat. But after checking out several different sentinel ships using the echo locator she finally found one that didn’t have the beam over top of her head, but rather on the side, and I went through the whole thing where you have to get the inverted mirrors and you have to go to a alien ruin and activate the highline brain and then come back and inserted in the sentinel ship and then I took that ship. It was a B class and I took it to the space station and I actually got some suspicious packages open those up so that I could get some Menonite to upgrade it and I was able to upgrade it to class later on. I think I’m going to make it a class ass so I can see all the supercharged slots, but the newest thing she found was that when she was in the pilot ship and she was in space it didn’t obscure her view like the other ships did so that was how she spit Friday getting a sentinel Ship and it was kind of fun. I love the feel of the ship I mean yes she is in the expedition and she has her living ship, but she also has another ship to play around with and the nicest thing is she’ll be able to bring it back after the expedition and it’s a cool little orange sentinel ship. I also put down a base so that I could summon or rather summon. I’m thinking about World of Warcraft so that I could have other characters come join me if they want to get the same sentinel ship. It is just a way of mixing up stuff in the game and doing something while we are waiting for the whole expedition to go and I’m having fun. especially since we know that only three of our missions per day is counting so I might as well be doing other things than just missions. Of course we can go back to our save our main save, but I kinda like exploring this and I’m enjoying myself.
Saturday
The first thing I do every Saturday after I walk my dog is jumping into my VR workout. I put on my weighted vest and my wrist weights and I do some amazing working out in VR. I have the facial cover that absorbs a sweat and I do an hour and 45 minutes in VR working out of course I start out with my HIIT training, which are good with a nice warm-up in the beginning but the highlight of my workout this Saturday was that I managed to do a streak hundred percent streak on my boxing which I love the feedback that I get from doing the boxing in VR and it also enables me to you know keep my trunk solid and also cognitive you know doing all the hits. My final thing has been doing the elliptical before I do my cooldown and on the elliptical, I’m running on the elliptical and moving through this map and what really was nice was that they changed the map it’s an app called HoloFit and they added more of this. Jurassic Park was called immortal type thing and there’s all these dinosaurs running around and there’s a Tyrannosaurus rex trying to attack the other dinosaurs and the atmosphere around is just 100% gorgeous so I’m really loving that part of working out. It was a really really good workout.
Every first and third Saturday of the month I work with a group called the United Zain alliance and we go back into Zenith and I had a fantastic time. It was kind of sad for me for one thing because we have a discord and we announced the days that we’re gonna be you know when we’re gonna be working doing the cosmetic craze which is a series of events that you do to get these tokens so that you can upgrade your suits to this cosmetic Look and on the discord someone actually said the game is dead. Yes, we know the game is dead, but the mechanics are so good and I just really love two things about her first of all when I’m working like with a Blade my arms are moving like I’m Blade and it works really nice. It’s the best mechanics of any VR game I’ve ever played like sometimes I am doing a ninja which operates a bow and I feel like I’m really pulling back the bow and adding and aiming so that was fun. We had a few people show up and we did an hour and a half of that and then I did a few other things around the house, including some more editing for this podcast and I ended up not getting back into No Man’s Sky on Sunday at all, but that’s OK. You know I can miss a day. I always feel like I have to get in and do my missions and help The expedition, but it’s OK if I miss a day I’m still having fun and loving VR one thing did happen. There was a video on YouTube where someone was talking about misconceptions of VR and you know there’s a lot of videos talking about VR is dying and that you know it’s not gonna be a viable industry anymore and I have to tell you if you if you’re still playing VR and maybe that’s why you’re listening to me and watching my videos I don’t care I will still be playing it. I will still I mean it’s nice when there are new games out and there are things you can do that. You know something interesting but I’m still playing No Man’s Sky as long as No Man’s Sky has VR capabilities I will still be playing in VR and then there’s other games that I can jump back in including Batman the Arkham the new one it was on sale. I don’t know if it’ll be on sale when this comes out but it’s on sale from 1999 to $2.99 in in PC in Steam for PCVR I actually have it for the quest headset and so I think I will be showing off whether it’s that much of an improvement between The 2 but in the meantime, I really enjoyed playing Xena and if you have ever played Zenith and you’re looking to join us it’s the first Saturday and the third Saturday of every month we meet on acolyte and fractured planes and we have a really really good time.
Sunday
I actually started my VR time playing the quest version of Batman, which was like moving along a predetermined path that you had to find. I mean it was very immersive as far as VR games going, but I had to follow this map to get to this place and I’m wondering if the flatscreen game is like that as well. Then I switched over to the Steam version of Batman, VR and it was so boring. I mean the effects were beautiful. The graphics were delightful, but you were basically just selecting things and pointing them. Of course, maybe I was only in the intro because I never got to any actual fighting. I equipped my bat suit and then I selected a bat vehicle and I Use the computer to find a dead body and then I used some analysis to try to figure out what happened in the fight and to find some fingerprints. I must’ve played for at least half an hour to. 45 minutes and I didn’t get to do any fighting, except for the practice of throwing the bat boomerang. I think I’m just used to more activity . I felt like I was standing around too much. So I went back to No Man’s Sky.
I started out with the idea that I would do some missions un Aprillian because she’s sage, but I ended up doing some Sentinel shopping On April Pvd because I logged in on her and she had the anomaly detector going from the last time we were on. Now keep in mind that she was really looking for a living frigate, but the only thing that pops off is deep space object detected, and the sentinel ship. I am curious if it won’t say well songs and if I tried it, maybe I would get a living frigate from one of the deep space object detected. She jumped to the coordinate got in a battle with the swarm that seems to happen every time you jump, but it doesn’t count towards the expedition missions. And she liked the sentinel ship she found. I know I sound like I’m schizoid cause I keep going back-and-forth between I and she. One thing she did do was duplicate the radiant charge that she had and then when she tried to find the inverted mirror even though it showed a mark, it never showed the mirror so she brought in a brilliant because she knew that she had some inverted mirrors and she got a couple from her and then she duplicated those as well and then she went back and got the brain. Did the whole thing to make it work in the sentinel ship, but and this was weird when she went to look for the sentinel ship it was no longer there and the log told her to go out into space so she went out into space and it was a different ship that she didn’t like. So this was a weird glitch so she did the echo locator one more time and then went to that ship and got it but this time it was a different ship and it was a C class ship. I didn’t feel like taking the time to upgrade it so she went to a space station and sold it. She April Pvd saw a solar ship at a space station and at first she was Going to hire the ship to be part of her squadron, but then she decided to buy it so now she has a solar ship as well. Then I hopped on a Rullion and she did submissions and she’s riding around in her sentinel ship, and she also painted her shi Frayer Green because she’s Sage. Then I jumped on Sebastian because Sebastian is gonna make this his main save once the expedition is over and he did some missions and then he used an echo locator and found a really cool sentinel ship that he wanted to keep but for some reason it did not give him a brain, which I didn’t understand. I thought they all automatically gave a brain so I brought in April Pvd, who had a brain in her inventory because she didn’t get the ship one time, but when she went after it. She realized that she could duplicate the brain and she gave one to Sebastian and then she decided that she wanted to ship too because it was really cool and then they both got the brains but now it was getting late. It was time for me to go to bed so I stopped but one thing that happened interesting was that April Pvd was looking around at the pets oh, and that’s one thing I meant to mention everybody can scan the pets again for some reason I couldn’t get that pet thing to show when I was scanning, and I thought maybe it was something to do with not having the right scanner installed, but it was just some weird thing or glitch and then April Pvd found a triple S pet and I left them both on that planet so that when I play again on Monday, they can get the ship and then Sebastian will be able to get the triple S pet.
Monday
Sebastian got the sentinel ship and the triple S pet then he went back to his freighter because he wanted to be able to hire somebody for a squadron. He found a pilot with a solar ship and hired him. Some people don't like the squadrons but I think it’s kind of neat when I’m in a battle and somebody shows up to fight with me, but then he realized he didn’t have a teleporter for his frieghter and for that he needed an amino chamber and he didn’t have that skill recipe logged in April Pvd and he joined her and she needed chlorine, but Sebastian had some chlorine so that worked out nicely. Sebastian did get a battle for one of the missions and the sentinel ship handles very nicely. It has a rocket launcher. The next mission was the one where you have to use the terrain manipulator to find wreckage buried buried swarm debris. It’s nice when you can mark them and then fly to it when you can’t then you have to walk. I guess it depends on line of sight. I landed my spaceship right on top of it and it turns out that you can’t use your manipulator on your ship is parked on top so I had to move it but now I have to make sure that I have enough lunch fuel. Sometimes you get over summon in your ship and then you won’t be able to. If it doesn’t have enough launch you won’t be able to summon it.
I had a really good time Monday night. I ended the day customizing my fighter with Sebastian and he ended up getting some cool multitool. He also got his teleporter and his traitor and he was able to hire some. And is greater and he also got his and he ended up getting some cool multis ended up getting some cool toes I think this expedition is unique because it’s going on so long and it gives you a lot to try and it’s not like being in the full game because there’s some things that just aren’t there and of course you always have the ability to go back to your main scene, so we’ll see what happens next week thanks for listening.
