When you get a new Meta quest headset, you get a free subscription to horizon plus so I spent some time looking at some of the free games, including innkeeper, VR, which turned out to be a lot like the In keeper at Medieval Dynasty so I actually went back into Medieval Dynasty for a little bit


Thursday

Took a break from building to get Aprillian into the Artemis storyline.





Friday

A YouTube video popped up on my feed about star citizen in VR and it peaked my curiosity so I purchased it and spent a few hours trying to get it installed.

Star Citizen in VR is absolutely amazing. It was on sale for $45 and I decided to try it. After a couple of hours minor adjustments to the installation process I finally got it up and going in VR and I was blown away. The only problem I have now is that it uses keyboard and mouse, which is hard for me because I can’t play sitting down. I figured out the problem in that if I play sitting down, I feel like I’m moving around in a wheelchair not that I have anything against people in wheelchairs. I just don’t like the feeling and hope I never have to get used to that. So I figured out a way to put my desk up so that I’m standing and have access to my keyboard and mouse and it is so good. I’m in trouble.

There’s a lot to it, including an eating and drinking mechanics. And I still haven’t figured out how to get into my spacecraft. I don’t know if some of my limitations is because of VR and maybe I should spend some time learning the ins and outs in the flatscreen. I may try that, but at the same time I am longing to get back to No Man’s Sky. Or at least have some kind of way of using my controllers.




Saturday

I spent most of the day trying to figure out how to fly. I’m interested in star citizen because it seems to be a world building thing, but I think I need to do a little bit more investigation because of the fact that I have to do so much work to make it work. Mainly because it doesn’t have the controllers so having to constantly look down at the keyboard to make sure I’m pressing the right button is starting to get frustrating. But the real reason I like it is because of the multiplayer functions and of course the graphics. But I also want to be able to build a base and I finally got to the point where I could figure out how to get a mission, but I haven’t been able to fly the ship. When I got in the ship finally after finding the little teeny panel on the left-hand side that said open and I got to the point where I could takeoff and I actually flew, but I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t moving. Then I noticed I was hungry so I went back to the café and picked up a bunch of food. Then I couldn’t figure out how to get back to my hanger. Signed a log out and log back in to get back to where my ship is. Then at one point, my ship appeared to be crashed so I had to file a claim to get it back and wait for that retrieval period to go down. The first time it happened I paid the expedited fee, but then the second time I just waited.


Sunday

Thinking about the fact that someone had recommended elite dangerous because I played No Man’s Sky. But I remember checking it out and it needed the game pad. So I thought OK maybe this is something I could play since I was using the game pad with star citizen. but it seems more like a space flight game. I don’t want just a space flight game and I’m starting to think that star citizen might be mostly a space flight game

I gave it one more try and it was just stupid. There was no fun involved. It was just complicated and hard to navigate. And the fact that I’m standing up at a keyboard, just made it worse.

I ordered a standing desk, but it wasn’t gonna arrive until the seventh so I ordered another one that was supposed to arrive on Monday but I’ve given up it’s not gonna work. There’s too much to do with the keyboard and the game itself does not give me information.

I jumped back on Aprillian and started doing some of the Atmos quest. She went to her two settlements and had a battle in each one, but also upgraded some building and got a whole bunch of resources that they had worked on. Even though the graphics weren’t as realistic. The controls are so amazing and it was nice to be able to fly my shit without trying to guess which button I needed to push.


Monday



Somebody posted this on the Facebook page and they think there’s gonna be an update this Wednesday. It’s from Sean Murray the big guy at No Man’s Sky and it appears to be an emoji of a Colosseum. I’m hoping it’ll be something to do with updating multiplayer so I can see my other characters homes when I’m logging in and they’re not logged on. Summer speculating PVP. A lot of people but I’m thinking there’s a lot of games you can fight in. I don’t really want to fight or want to go allow people to fight. Maybe I’m being selfish. also, the game is on sale for $24 until April 20. They always put it on sale when there’s an update. I do feel badly because I did inspire someone on Facebook to try a star citizen in VR, but he might have a better time than I do.


Tuesday

Aprillian got a little further in her Atlas and Artimis storyline. I won’t say much because I don’t want to spoil it. She did need some lithium to advance one of her settlement buildings. April Pvd went to the planet that she got from and got it for her.


Wednesday



So the update is Pokémon, which of course I’m gonna try. I went in initially on Sebastian and you have to go to the anomaly. But Sebastian could not compete. When he landed at the anomaly, nothing happened. I logged on April Pvd, and she went to the anomaly and immediately got this notice.

I’m curious if I’ll be able to multi box this. So I immediately logged out April Pvd, and logged in Aprillian. I want to see what the gatekeeping is. Maybe you have to have settlements?

How to Start and compete in Creature Battles! No Man's Sky Xeno Arena Update.

Aprillian got the notice when she entered the anomaly. Now I’m gonna try it with Epril.

Only April Pvd and Aprillian seem to be able to battle. It’s actually a lot of fun I took Aprillian along The 2 several different places to Battle. You get these tokens that initiate a place you have to go and they seem to be making use of the places in depots the fancy ones. There are two tables set up in everyone I’ve been to which is kind of interesting because Aprillian made a base in one last week after watching a YouTube video about interesting places to make your base. It gives you the feeling of having a city instead of just an empty building because there are NPC‘s around.

There was an update to XSplit Broadcaster which is the application I used to stream. When I went to click on the item to stream nothing happened no matter what I did. I did notice it still worked on my gaming PC, which I hadn’t updated so I was able to copy the application over on a thumb drive and move it to my laptop and now I can stream again. It’s really weird though.




Now, when you look at the pets that they have different things that you could upgrade and they also show their attack. It is so much like Pokémon.



Thursday

I actually had fun playing Pokémon in space. Except that you get to go and find the animal and choose them and grow them and hatch them so it’s a little bit different. I found out that you can trade the championship tokens and I worked on Sebastian’s “downtown” face. I’m thinking of trying to bring other people there as well to see if they can build near it and not have the buildings disappear.

Since Sebastian doesn’t get the initial quest, I decided to see if I could help level up his pet by playing against him and it works. It does mean I have to keep lifting my quest to look at the screen on the laptop for two reasons. One is that whenever I go into the mode that lets me see my surroundings in the real world for some reason man puts this big bar that says you are in a game and you can press this button to resume. I know this I don’t need it to tell me but in the recording it shows up as a big black band. Plus, they recently updated the way you go back-and-forth and it has a few more steps. But I was able to play Apple Pvd against Sebastian, which will allow him to upgrade his pet. And since I gave him a championship token, there are chances of him getting the pellet that allows him to modify an update but the way I allowed him to win and then I went out and got some low-level pets to play against him. There’s a new button on the scanning visor thing.


Friday

I am falling in love/addicted to the battles.

I took Sebastian along the Artemis quest line and he ended up getting the invitation to Battle in the anomaly


Saturday

I did up to meeting Artemis on Epril and then went to the anomaly and she got the quest as well. So that seems to be the gatekeeper. Then I hopped back on April Pvd and just did a bunch of battles. I saw this post on Facebook and decided to try to get this creature.

And after I got him, I took him to do some battles. It’s really interesting to go out and find S class creatures. I am really loving this and having a blast with the battles. Sometimes I do do them on the flatscreen.



Then I noticed there was a title or a few titles for hatching eggs. April Pvd had a bunch of eggs in her storage.



I got my account up to 14 eggs. I ended up destroying some of the pets because they weren’t of S class or good stats.

Sunday

Started the day off watching YouTube videos about training pets in No Man’s Sky. Actually playing on the flat screen while I’m watching them. One guy said something about being able to find S class pets in purple systems. So I’m gonna go look there. spent most of the day chasing S class pets. But I just realize something every time I’ve gone to the portal in the last week. I’ve haven’t had to activate it with resources. It seems like it’s been a long time.

Picked up some S class pets on April Pvd and then put down bases so I could come back and have them lay an egg so I can get that achievement.


Monday

Stayed on April Pvd all day. Alternating between looking for S class pet, visiting planets to lay eggs and battling pets.



I’m really enjoying the battles and learning how to rotate out certain pets. One of my pets has an ability to cause itself a whole bunch of damage that will kill it, but it will increase the defense on all my other two pets. So that’s very useful when the first pet is low on health.



There’s also a weird glitch where your pilots look like they have pet features.

I started a Permadeath save, got a couple of hours into it, only to be mauled by an animal on a planet I just landed on.

I’m gonna start a new Permadeath save in the next few days, after I've gotten over the rather unfortunate way to die.

I started my pet collection with the new update!

Star Trek: Resurgence:

Got it on the Steam Sale.

I’m almost afraid to play this game, since I don't like the current Trek, I've been looking around for other things.

This story is set, I believe, five or six years after the end of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Again, i’m not going to spoil the story, i’m only going to say that i really like the way it’s set up. You play in the roles of two crew members aboard the USS Resolute, a science vessel tasked with a diplomatic mission.

One of the crew members you play is the First Officer, the other is an enlisted engineer.

A nice thing, and this might show how much of a fan of Star Trek I am, vs a fan of games, the crew is wearing my favorite Star Trek uniform. I have loved this uniform ever since I saw it for the first time in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's fifth season.

Good day everyone! Hope you are all well?


I have just been plodding along doing the same sort of things in WoW.. I have been working a little more on my housing plot, although it can be quite a vast undertaking.. I am still collecting various items for my little Chapel (Church). I have finally figured out how to removed the HUGE beer barrel from my front room and the random tree in my garden! Hahaa!


I also got the urge to play some Classic TBC on the Anniversary realms. I totally forgot what a grind it used to be! I wanted to play an Undead Priest on the PVP realm, but sadly due to a server imbalance, creating a Horde character has been disabled. Playing a Human Priest just isn’t quite the same.. I wanted to GANK the Alliance, not be one! :D


I must admit, I was “geeking out” a bit when I was logging on, seeing the old the Dark Portal loading screen and hearing the original music!! What nostalgia that brought back!

P.S. I’ve recently started looking into some Orcish lore. I never really knew how interesting it was. Some Orc clans are quite crazy!
